For Christ's sakes with the league status in the bag we should've gone for this. Tough night for the Horns tonight. 0-3
Let's hope Success plays well. He's been trying too hard imo in the few minutes he's had as cameos so far. Has done everything he needs to become a club legend off the pitch, has to start delivering on the pitch now
I like Gomes and as such am pleased for him personally to see he’s still being involved, but thinking long-term and more clinically: why are we playing our second-choice, ageing ‘keeper when we have a young prospect who’s supposed to be growing in to our future no. 1 with experience? Is this not the perfect chance to give him experience? Looking forward seeing the debutants, especially Quina. He looks like an exciting player. I hope Wilmot can step up having looked good in pre-season. Interesting he seems to be being groomed as a midfielder. Sema and Success represent real strength and power up front. Let’s see if they have the technique to match! Good move by Gracia to rotate imo. Big games coming up and Reading look awful anyway so let’s trust these players to get the job done.
I wouldn't have picked the youngsters, but at least most of the team have at some point in the past year been there or thereabouts in the first team. Glad to see Chaloback, even though I'm scared he'll snap in two, and I'm interested by Quina, judging by that graphic he's playing up front?
I thought delofeau was on the brink of being back - surprised and disappointed he's not in the squad .... more great return estimates from our medical team !!
3 out of 3 in the league and actually winning a league cup game with our second string. This is peak Watford.
I'm feeling slightly entitled and all Premier League arrogant. Will continue that feeling at work tomorrow.
Season has been flawless so far. The fact that the goals came from two of our exciting youngsters rather than Prodl & Britos is just the icing on the cake.
Nice runout for the b side and a good away win against a awful reading side who made changes as expected. Shane on 3cR for no stream and nowhere to even listen to the game, so thanks to Stevehorn and others for updates. Goal for Success was well taken with the assist too. Reading hardly threatening all game and it was like a pre season friendly rather than a cup game. Win is a win, as we go into round 3 for the first time in Five Years. Be nice to give this a real go for once too.
Quina looks the real deal. Second half especially, grew in confidence and was best player on the pitch for me, scoring a cracker to boot. Incredible that he's only 18.
A fairly comfortable game for us. Great to see Chalobah back and a few of the fringe players give themselves a good account. Particularly Quina and Wilmot. Sema looked lively. Success has to start over Gray.
