Seems strange to hijack a transfer thread about a real transfer to moan about people going off topic about real transfers?

 

There will be plenty of real transfer action to discuss in time.

Presuming Masina, we are already four transfers in with nothing settled about the goalkeeping, centre back and striker positions. If Doucoure goes, one of Richarlison or Pereyra too and given the Pozzo’s love of a one for the future punt, we could be looking at half a dozen further signings yet. That’s a lot of cheese.

 

Masina I am convinced is a done deal.
Not sure we are looking for a keeper with Dalberg coming in.
Think all 3 of the new defenders can play in a back 3 or 4 but only Masina can be seen now as immediate 1st team material while the other 2 are for the future and will be competing for positions within the squad. Midfield? Well we were told Paneranda was coming this year but not sure that will happen now but yes, we do appear to have one or two irons in the fire should top teams offer enough to buy our top players. Up front we may play with a false nine, similar to Liverpool and others style so Okaka may move on but we may only buy in that area if the right man is available.
I remember the club saying that they can be looking at up to 6 players for each position but for a club of our size to get their target over the line can be very difficult.

I thought it was all done and will be officially announced when the Italian league transfer window opens on 1st July?
Why we have to wait till then, I have no idea?

 

The transfer window only prevents a club from signing a player not selling one; therefore a our window is open it shouldn't matter that the Italian one opens on the 1st July.

 

but it does stop a selling club replacing and that might make a selling club want to manage annoucements

 

Maybe Okaka (or another) is going the other way and that's the bit that can't be sorted until their window opens?

Yes it turns out he signed for us a couple of weeks ago for a very low fee and low salary.

I'm fully aware both could turn out to be useless, but £5.5m on two young full-backs who have over 100 top-flight appearances between them is great business. The worst we'll do is get our money back if either/both are rubbish.

 

Sky Sports news also reported on Friday that their sources were suggesting that he was a target of Everton, which seems most likely to have been picked up on one of those tiresome twitter accounts that gets kicks out of making stuff up in the hope it gets reported.

Not to say that Sky should be distrusted, just that I don't think they've necessarily got the right people on this story. I'll trust them when Adam Levanthal gets involved
