Almost certainly - report from Italy saying just that.

Not what I've read. He's having a medical and it's close to completion.

It’s a done deal. Italian press have been saying it was sorted a couple days ago. According to them, medical was done this week. Personal terms all agreed and fee has been agreed between both clubs. Now it’s just a matter of time of waiting on the official announcement, which won’t be a Thursday, because nothing happens on Thursdays.

    Adam Masina

    Translates

Adam Masina travels faster towards the Watford. There is agreement with Bologna on figures: 5 million plus 3 bonus, now in this respect there are no doubts. But it is an operation that will complete by June to announce it next month. So there are views in the last hours, as in England.Maybe in the next few days, in these hours Masina is on holiday in Italy.

Don’t know who he is but he has 170k followers on twitter and works as a sports journalist in Italy. Seems to be pretty reliable. I would hazard a guess that he knows much more about this deal than what Sky and British press do.

DI Marzio has said that ‘Mesina steps away from Watford interest’.

Despite initial worries, he hasn’t stepped away. Instead, he’s only steps away from joining.

So good news, despite the initial confusing headline.

    So like all of us.

Meister, sign him up for the forum!

Could lead us into whole new areas of Italian cheese/bakery wordplay.

  14. They're gonna keep on looking until they find some cronic condition, then we sign him.

The latest article about him on L'Equipe is from 5 days ago, saying we are close to signing him. No reports anywhere online that I can see suggesting that he will not sign.

I think you post some good stuff Burnsy but I fundamentally disagree with you on a number 9f levels and in my opinion your post is part of the problem not the solution.

First of all there has been quite a bit of news and it’s a solid start to preseason imo.

Secondly HairyFrog has been a solid contributor to the forum for a long time and deserves a bit more respect than jibes about missing a limb. Some of the treatment of individuals on this forum, not HF, is unpleasant and makes me uneasy.

In an independent and reputable poll a majority indicated they disliked the repetitive jokes, The majority would have probably been greater if you factored in the people who have already left the forum and Moogs multiple accounts which experts estimate accounted for 82% of the like vote.

A lot more people will have likely have left in frustration and not announced it.

A what point does it make the forum unusuable? I’m not suggesting we are necessarily at that point now but what if we doubled the amount of cheese or other repetitive jokes, or tripled them. What if I started a cheesy name transfer rumour every day and then in my excitement of getting a few likes I diversified to beaver jokes or horsey or unicorn jokes. Can you not at least acknowledge that this behaviour is irritating to some people and their views should not just be dismissed out of hand?

I’m not suggesting there should be no jokes nor that there should be zero repititive jokes. But there could be s9me sort of compromise. Instead in response t9 people’s concerns there has been increased repitition and deliberate attempts to wind people up.

A poll highlighting people’s concerns has been moved to somewhere it is less visible and on occasion Mods seem to encourage or at least be complicit in the repitive jokes or wind ups. All of this is fine is the forum is intended to be a clique for a small group of people as opposed to an inclusive forum for diverse groups of Watford fans. I fear this forum has become more polarised than American society.

  25. Why not simply have a sensible section where mods delete jokes and posts not in keeping with the thread

    That way everyone's happy

A - No they didn't, the 'likes' and the 'don't cares' put together were greater.
B - Who cares - it wasn't put up as a definitive poll for the Forum to act on.
C - So what? Most people are disinterested in most things on the Forum - they can just ignore them.

It's getting increasingly daft that people take this so seriously.

Because a great deal of the football commentary is ignorant and infantile and should be deleted first.

The only thing wrong with this forum is the absence of a Dislike button.

Diverse does include jokers btw, maybe you should take that on board before you tell the rest of the forum to play by your rules.

People can post what they want. Personally I have checked the forum out less the last couple of weeks because I find the one liners to be like spam which just annoyingly gets in the way. (Transfer window is normally when I log in the most).

But that’s just personal opinion and for some it will enhance the threads. That said it’s still the best place to keep track of potential transfers in my view and of course discussions of matches.

Sure maybe you’re right but you seem to be taking it pretty seriously too to bother responding with a bullet point counter view.

Don’t worry, any daft counter views of people taking it seriously will die down at some point soon i suspect.

  32. Pob

I pretty much agree with most of what you say. Diverse does indeed include jokers and I never said it didn’t.

It depends who the forum is for really. If you look at who's voted that they like the repetitive style of humour, it's predominantly users that are on here most often. In the dislikes are lots of people that have usernames, don't post very often but have bothered to register their dislike in the poll. So it's not too much of a jump to think it does put people off and isn't that popular outside a clique. There must be some analytics that the mods could use - is the number of unique visitors way down on the last couple of summers? @Admin @Meister ? If so, maybe people would be more willing to tone it down. If it makes no difference at all, then crack on with the jibber jabber.

Anyway, back on track - can we start panicking that this transfer has fallen through and we'll be heading into next season with the Holebas/Zeegelaar option yet?
