Last 3 games are spurs, Man U and Newcastle. That Newcastle game could be very important if we don't have any cushion going into the last 3 games.
Next two weeks are vital. Gives Javi a chance to coach his players and you'd hope some of our injured players will be back. Kiko, Hughes, Kaba and Britos would make a huge difference as we wouldn't have to play Janmaat, or Zeegalar at full back, or holes at CB.
Were they wrong about the easy 3-0/4-0 win against threadbare WHU and in taking the p*** out of Lawrenson et al for predicting a WHU clean sheet ? When I said at least 40 as there are no s***t teams this year, I remember being told how 35/36 points would clearly be enough . Almost home and dry now then ?
Yeah but let them dream. Lawrenson and Merson get it right more than them but if they knew that, they'd be ever so upset.
Think Liverpool will win anyway to be honest - they can suddenly see Utd in reach and they've got the African Messi in red hot form. We are all Salah today.
Hope you are right but they have been flaky away from home recently and Soton played well in beating WBA. None of us would have expected Man U to lose at Newcastle.
No, indeed, but then I learned after the game that Jose has never won at St James' Park in 7 attempts, and only Guardiola has beaten Jose more times than Benitez has over the course of their careers, so there were significant omens in their favour.
I am normally a committed ABU, but today I wanted them to win, and what do they do, they ******* lose to Newcastle I ******* hate them even more now, if that is possible!!!
They’ve actually won 6 and drawn 1 of their last 8 away matches! The only loss was that annoying one at Swansea. I’d take such flaky form for us!
The Silva saga and our disappointing strikers notwithstanding, our inability to return our injured players to fitness within a reasonable timescale is without doubt the reason why we are not safe from relegation already.
Salah makes it 1 goal, 1 assist, and that's got to be close to it, surely? If Southampton did go down, I feel like it would be madness, they've got some really solid players and they don't even play that badly week to week. I know they are dissatisfied with their owners' transfer policy, which seems understandable.
I feel in the next few weeks at least 2 sides will drift away at the bottom. I don't care who that is.
I can't see Soton going down. They have been pretty good today and last and have Gabbiadini and Austin to come back and Carillo (the version !) looks good. I think it will be 3 from stoke/WBA/Hudd/Newcastle, Brighton and us. I expected the last 3 to fall away but they haven't !!
Looked good til the 2nd goal went in but I agree did nothing in 2nd half. still don't think they will go down.
Can't see west brom making up 10 more points this season let alone any extra we get so they won't catch us. May not go down but looking likely. Stoke are awful. Have amassed 2 points and 2 goals from their last 3 games - two at home v us and an equally awful Brighton, and lost away to muff so nothing special. Lesta away next, a massive 6 pointer v southampton after that and then man city, everton, arsenal and spurs. Ouch! I think they are down. Then 1 of any of the others for the last place.
Pellegrino out? Silva in? As much as I'd love it, surely that's it for Pellegrino. They've got a good squad that he's playing completely incorrectly.
Of course we’d be okay if we win 2 or 3 home games on the bounce. Even 4 points from next 3 home games would put us in a very strong position.
Exactly how I see it. At least we can say Watford are top of the injury table, so we have something to cling onto, even if our form doesn't pick up.
