Why not 442? Mystified to be honest, thought he was watching our games?
Capoue and Watson in midfield is not even Championship standard.
Gray upfront on own with no Deeney in squad, rumours of exit are ovbiously true then, we must play with support for Gray!
Personally, Richarlison has looked jaded recently, would have rested him and played Zeegalaar at wing...

Can we read Anthony into Mariappa being pick ahead of Prodl?

Maybe seen Zeelegar cannot defend hence Holebas coming in ?

I don’t think we can really complain about any line-up at the moment given the volume of players out. I’d maybe have put Prodl in over Marriappa as the cup would be a good time for Seb to find some form.

Good to see Gracia has highlighted that Zeegelaar is a huge weakness already though.

Shock 3-1 to us. Javi is the new messiah. For 4 days...

I worked on the movie remake from about 12 years ago .

I spent 6 months of my life trying to making Zaphods second head flip out from under his chin without looking too sh1te, because Spyglass were too tight to pay for a CG head in every shot.

A perfect vehicle for Martin Freemans non acting, although Sam Rockwell was brilliant.

Why is Okaka not starting? Would have been better putting some youngsters out instead of the likes of Crappoe and Watson.

Hope your theory about Deeney is wrong because that would imply Holebas is staying!

Deeney has been unwell all week. Two up top for this game would be daft.

He’s chosen the best side he could to win individual battles against their opponents. Experience and looking at the bench there is no one who definitely should be starting instead of someone else.

    Good luck HMS Javi!

Don’t see the problems myself. Most of the side picks itself due to injury and illness. We are the away side so no harm going with one up top to start and trying to keep it tight. Deeney hasn’t trained all week because of sickness. Capoue is in a position he has done well in, if the mood takes him. The players have had seven days without a match so nobody should be over fatigued. Holebas makes sense, the slight lesser of two evils at left back. Mariappa brings a little more pace. Pereyra maybe being held in reserve for a start at Stoke.

Because under Silva we were chucking games away for fun and then switching to 4-4-2, going gung ho and naturally looking better as we had nothing to lose.

With a new manager who might actually be able to get the team to defend properly, 4-4-2 might not actually be the answer after all, it’s certainly not for the other teams in the league and it wasn’t when we were playing well under Silva.

Sorry all, was just replying to that :)

I know Deeney is ill but I would have possibly rested Richarlison and put Pereyra there, this is the position he played best for us during his pre-injury spell

Supposedly Prodl was already being frozen out under Silva and was only used grudgingly. We need an upgrade on both.

And hopefully Gracia has indeed observed that about Zeegelaar.

Is Deeney genuinely ill or is that an excuse for the club not to risk him being injured if there is a potential sale going on?

Without seeking to undermine your work I do always visualise Marvin in his BBC TV series form. That series was often a bit BBC sci fi ropey (though the graphics were good for then) but Marvin looked spot on.

To our undercover agents at The Grove, did Deeney look ill?

When I’m ill, I tend to shun the fine dining experience.

When recovering from illness you need to build yourself up. It takes a lot to build Deeney up.

Up in back row, so thankfully dry. If they could finish, game would be all over at HT.

    Okaka coming on at HT.

It doesn't take long for the new manager to see that Gray needs support and that Capoue is rubbish.

Capoue has the heart of a dormouse, particularly in the cold and wet. He disappeared in the rain at Soton under QSF too.

He isn't alone in that though. Doucoure aside, there isn't one player in this team that I trust not to fold or go missing.
