I do not believe this is so. Fans are like sheep, they will go with the flow. Sure, some go too far, but most do not jump off the cliff.
They are some on here that feel their status deserves more than others. Just as one player does not make a team. It is also so that one fan does not make a crowd. Unless the attendance is 1.
We sat in front of two guys, looked like brothers to me and turned out to be season ticket holders. All game we got a running commentary on the game and the woes of Watford FC. They go home and away, but to me they knew jack***t about football. Yet, they are entitled to their opinion.
My partner, who has only been to three games before, summed up the game far better than the two guys behind us. She not even a fan of football, but plays Handball for Annecy. She said the players looked scared, lacked confidence, no game plan, too much bulk/muscle compare to they Southampton players, played too deep, too slow, gave the ball away too much and never looked like scoring. Not bad for a 'day tripper'.
She did say that the maillot de foot looked nice. Les femmes et leur mode!!
