Literally when that second went in, Gomes looked disappointed. The rest of them just turned tail and headed for the re-start. No acceptance of their part in the demise, no self-respect in their own performance.
We must have the worst full backs in professional football. Anyway, who do we reckon the next manager will be?
If Silva is in his job by the morning this team will get relegated The board also take a share of the blame, it's been glaring obvious for 3 years where our weaknesses are
Zeegallar made me actually laugh when he fell on his arse. Defending is absolutely woeful. Gomes poor for the second. Not one good performance so far..
No Idea. But we are kidding ourselves if we think the manager is the overriding problem with this lot. We change managers every year to address the same issue. And it ends up the same. When will be begin to realise maybe it might be something else that’s wrong? This team desperately lacks leadership and responsibility ON THE PITCH!!!
Shane Long is giving them the runaround this afternoon. Even he who hasn't scored for 9 months (!) would easily walk into this starting XI. They have a much more gifted group of players.
I ******* hate silva 2 up front we look threatening , why do we keep starting with a lone striker We have just equalised but I’m still pissed off
Zeegelaar is such a massive liability defensively - lazy and clueless. In general we are just all over the place at the back - attack definitely looks like the best form of defence for us at the moment. Well it's about time.
We are going to get our arse handed to us in the press. We have cheated to a draw. Clearly with that handball goal
We've had so many decisions go against us. Whilst I hate cheating, and it's harsh on Southampton, it's nice to finally get a rub of the green
Great header by Doucoure. Dunno what everyone else is going on about. Definitely no need for VAR in the game - I'm totally against it.
So if there was VAR we would not have got the goal at the end, but would we have got the penalty when Okaka has his shirt pulled by two defenders at the same time?
Two awful teams scrap to a 2-2 draw. Silva far from a managerial genius. Play Gray with another striker well..... And why yet again the lack of impetus in he first half. Yet again time after time. Both fullbacks terrible especially Zeegelaar. And another customary injury.
I don't know what to make of that. We were crap, but also deserved a point. You can tell that Silva sets us up incorrectly, as when he makes changes to go ultra attacking (two strikers) we look a much better and more solid team. Clearly he can see that Deeney is an excellent support player (not a lone striker) and has brought the best out of a whole range of striking partners. It says a lot that despite coming back from a 2-0 half time deficit, Silva deserves little credit for the draw.
At least in the second half we looked like we gave a crap. Pereyra and Richie even seemed to have an extra spring in their steps somehow compared to the first half. If we can take that energy forwards and sort out our full-backs then maybe unlike the previous two seasons we can actually turn things around again? But nah, seems everyone has already made their mind up that Silva is sc*m and should be out already. I'm willing to give him a chance to see if he can make a couple of good signings in January and now finish the season in reasonable form.
Summed up very well indeed. Hope Cleverley is ok but those hamstring strains can be nasty at Watford, might put him out for the season.
I just don’t get Silva anymore. I thought the team that played and won against Bristol city would start today for sure. Played some decent football, got the result we wanted and helped build confidence. So what does Silva do.. plays Gray up front and brings in Watson. How the hell can any player or team build up a run of momentum and team confidence when he is constantly dropping strikers that have scored the game before? Well done to Gray for getting another goal today, the only good thing to come out of today was 2 up front. But I’m sure Silva will play 1 up front again and it will probably be Okaka???
It now comes down to a desperate scrap to stay ahead of three other poor teams, after a great start to the season. Not very confident at the moment, despite being top of the relegation league.
I'm not going to pretend to be happy just because we effectively cheated our way to a draw against another **** side. Who are we actually going to beat? Who do we expect to beat, even at home? The best we can seem to hope for even against the worst sides in the league is a point at this stage. I liked Silva at first but the man has now proven himself to be a clueless, one trick pony. Terrible team selections, baffling subs and zero idea how to organise a defence. Watson shouldn't be anywhere near a Premier League team, Cleverley as our attacking midfielder is just mind blowingly pointless, especially when we have Pereyra sat on the bench, and his insistence on either dropping and/or subbing Gray every time he scores beggars belief. Please just go.
I just don't get the starting line up or the subs. Bobby P has to be fit enough to start today if he's fit to come on before half an hour. So why is he on the bench? Then Gray scores and is taken off. The bloke probably doesn't know what to do to stay on the pitch. No doubt it'll be Okaka on his own up front at Leicester next week.
