    Hogg: alright Troy?
Deeney: alright, Hoggy? How’s the loan going?
Hogg: ****, I’ve just been sent off!
    Deeney: bummer, ref’s a **** ain’t he?
Hogg: yeah but I heard you wanted Christmas off this year, so it’s all ended well.
Deeney: Damn right, should get New Years too!

You said this was a special team four weeks ago, potentially the best ever Watford team.

Four weeks later this is a watershed moment. This is why you look a real Toby every week.

Given you heralded Silva’s arrival, what’s your suggested plan of action - sack another manager?

    Utter fool.

By staying I got to see a great goal from Doucoure! Honesty, I always stay to the end and even though it is annoying seeing us play so bad I like to see it all.

Gray is obviously not a great finisher but he is so much better than Deeney for the team. At the moment Deeney can’t score, doesn’t run much, and rarely holds the ball up as well as he used to. It is so sad to see one of our great players decline so much.

    Pathetic performance in every way.

No idea why we're playing 3-4-3 at home to Huddersfield, especially after how well 4-2-3-1 had worked earlier in the season, so why exactly has it been ditched in favour of a formation that, based on recent performances and results, isn't suiting us? Holebas is a stupid c**t, useless defensively and should never play for us again, Deeney has become a terrible example as captain and completely ineffective as a player, Mariappa just isn't good enough at this level and Capoue can get *****ed.

It was clearly not a red card so your point is irrelevant. It was right in front of me and at the time I was pleased somebody actually made a tackle that showed they cared, bearing in mind the shocking defending to that point.

Troy is now free to go and get smashed out his skull at the darts again, like last year. Was this his last act in a Woffud shirt? Gone in the window?

Playing Capoue when the thermometer shows anything less than 10 degrees celsius is asking for trouble. The midfield weren't up for it from the get go.

With the exception of Gomes, and perhaps Janmaat, it's a squad of blokes playing only to impress their agent and the next contract, not for their team or manager.

And even more shamefully, the manager is just as capricious, setting a poor example with his mega bucks designer watch deal for the hideous expensive piece of junk he wears on match days under contract to show when he cups his chin in post match interviews.

This breeds complacency and contempt. They really don't care for you or us.

Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.

This. Oh and the Huddersfield supporters were the best set we've had at the Vic all years and perhaps last year too. Really reminded me of the Championship days (which may not be far away!)

I can't see a reason for Deeney to start for us now, good to see people are starting to wake up to him being an overweight sh** e and seeing him get abuse from fans in the SEJ after being sent off. At least Gray gave it a good go after it took an hour to get him on the pitch, guess he's paid off 1m so just 17 to go...

    Ohh Stefano Okaka...!

E="a19tgg, post: 2595286, member: 6869"]I honestly think that Silva has been the victim of some sort of Face/off conspiracy and that’s actually Walter sitting in the dug out instead. I cannot right at this moment tell the difference between us under Walter in the latter part of the last season and us under Silva now, other than currently we are actually a whole lot worse.[/QUOTE]

Watching Gomes receive more passes than our strikers and the uncertainty of the players I had my suspicions but I think you might be right, Walter is still head coach but wearing a Silva mask, just look at the puff of smoke:

The strain of dragging his massive cojones around is clearly taking a toll on Deeney.
The number of key players missing meant this was always going to be a challenge but I don't think anyone could have seen the feeble first half performance coming.
I thought we played pretty well for large chunks of the second half, but all in all, not a great way to spend an afternoon.
Superb strike from Doucoure - goal of the season

hope we don't appeal, in fact we should ask the FA to make an example of Deeney

Ha! I hadnt noticed that before now but looked through a few post match interviews and he indeed does lift up his watch numerous times during interviews. It's never the other arm.

A fine example of the Hornets hospitality, taken from the Wobby:

The Terriers have not scored four goals away from home in the top flight for more than 60 years.

Watford are the footballing equivalent of the pig at The Resturant At the End Of The Universe who is happily bred to be eaten.

Do we have any younger emerging players that could be thrown into mix any time soon?

Think there’s a clique in the squad that’s become very complacent and self righteous in that they’re almost guaranteed a starting place. Surely we could give more time to the idea of adding new and eager blood as competition?

Just saw the highlights of the Man City-Spurs games - tackles from Harry Kane and Dele Alli that were both far, far worse than either Zeegelaar or Deeney's. Both got yellows. Terrible inconsistency from refs, it's definitely easier to send off a player from a small team than a big one, particularly in a big televised fixture.

    Alli one here:

I wasn't pleased because we probably could've mounted a come back with 11 men. There was no danger of Huddersfield scoring in that position either.

What it boils down to HB is that we are a mid table team. Mid table teams go on good runs and go on bad runs. Mid table teams are affected by injuries more than stronger teams. Last year we were a lower mid table team with a manager who couldn't seem to get his message across to the team. This year I was hoping for better - who knows we might win at Brighton and go on a winning streak, including a win at Man City, but our poor form may well continue, putting us closer to a relegation battle.

That's the beauty of supporting Watford under the Pozzos.

I think that player availability is taking it toll and the realisation that the back-up players aren’t good enough. This applies especially to midfield where Capoue and Watson are not anywhere near good enough. We had a strong midfield with Doucourre, cleverly, Chalobah and even Hughes. They provide a good base to attack from. Without them we are weak in th middle. January should have been a time to strengthen the squad, with the injuries and suspensions I think it will be temporary patching up.

As has been said for most of the season, we need a very good defender and a decent striker. Richarlison shouldn’t be expected to be our only source of attack and i think needs a rest. Pereyra has been in and out due to injury. Carillo needs an end product.

I’ve heard that the players liked Silva and he’s one of the best coaches they’ve had. Whether this holds true now I’m not sure. I’m not quite ready to believe that he’s lost the dressing room and I think that the return of the missing players will improve our form. I don’t think that anything more than mid table will be achievable now and I strongly think that Silva will go in the summer.

I for one would love to see Hughes starting again soon. Thinks he’s the most exciting potential we have in central midfield.

That is one bad challenge -and yet we’ll be lambasted for being dirty. One of the best players in the league could easily have been out for the season there

A team that has been in the PL for 3 years should have a decent enough squad to do better than shipping four goals to a new PL team which had not scored a single goal away from home since the opening day of the season. For example, Muff beat them 4-0.

And whether the red card was harsh or not, we’ve been getting far too many of them.

    Today’s result was unequivocally awful.
