Only concern with big Seb is that he's bound to be a bit rusty and he can be a bit clumsy at the best of times. Hope the masked man is up for a good 90 minutes, because Holebas appears to have been dropped entirely. Some untied fans seem to think they'll sit back and bore it out for a point. Surely not?
I'll be amazed if we don't win this. I tbink we could even get away with a below par perfor.ance and scrape home 2-0. COYH
Like the return of Prodl, a very steady and reliable member of our defensive unit. Fancy us to get something out of this.
A bit of a love-in on BT Sport for Watford there! Really good to see the sensory room - didn’t realise BT sport helped fund it.
No, me neither, interesting isn't it. Jenas always speaks very well about us, unlike some others, including Rio and Paul, who are poor pundits anyway and clearly had very little idea what we are actually like as a team, still. I liked that they started the conversation by focusing heavily on Lukaku's non-ban as well, highlighting that is the right thing to do.
Yeah, so Ashley can go f.uck himself, at the weekend Salah refused to celebrate against b.loody Chelsea, meanwhile he's doing elaborate dance routines against his only youth team who made him entirely. What a f.ucking p.rick, really.
The score line is laughable 2 absolute flukes by Young and a bit of a hash clearance from Kabasele. It's like Man U have got all the luck in the world wiv the ball so far any sort of richochet or loose ball is falling straight at their feet. Doucoure looking a bit off sloppy wiv his passing but still running ragged COYH 2nd half comeback
We should never have sold that boy. No worries though. Troy will come on and we'll smash these cajone-less fairies 6-3... Unless Doucs or Cleverley gets a red. Then we're heading for a slight embarrassment.
I’d agree but we’ve been sloppy and I think we’ve massively underestimated them. It looks like we think we can just ping it about and we’ll be ok, they’ve got world class players and we’ve also got to think about what we’re doing at the back sometimes too.
Hurumph! Nothing we could do for the first, Doucore would've been better letting him go rather than the grab for the second and we fell apart for the third. Just like Citeh the difference is about £200m at the sharp end on a day when nothing can go wrong for them, we certainly haven't been embarrassed. Just don't worry too much that we haven't caught them on a bad day because that's what it takes.
Left at HT. Going on holiday tomorrow and I’d rather avoid the traffic and go home to pack than sit in the cold watching United help themselves against our naive defence.
The next cnt who tells me we're a better side with Gray leading the line instead of Troy is going to die. I think I'm being perfectly fair.
I love how we just never stop. 3-0 down u would think the game was over. Lingaard should have been stopped long before he got anywhere near our goal but either way we didn't score again but won the 2nd half comfortably. Don't think Young will ever score 2 more perfectly hit goals or has ever in his career
Gray anonymous all game. Only player who was consistently very poor was Prodl and I think if we played a back two, or a different CB was playing, we wouldn't have done so poorly. Doucoure had a very poor 15 minute spell but other than that he wasn't bad. Gomes made an absolute wonder save but thought he should have done better for the free kick at least. Kabasele solid enough, Richarlison had a bit of an off day. Carrillo and Pereyra completely changed the game, Pereyra must start from now on. My MOTM was probably Cleverley
I think we need to assume that the signings Duxbury apparently mentioned in the Standard interview will include ball playing defenders.
The spirit and fight in this team is fantastic to watch. I thought we actually played quite well. United’s first goal came against the run of play and was a great finish. I didn’t think Doucoure’s foul was necessary which led to another world class finish from the free kick. Later on, Cleverly should have body checked Lingaard on the half way line before their 4th. We massively lost our composure after they scored their first 2 and it’s a shame we conceded so soon after making it 3-2 because we were right back in that! No one is able to defend Gray tonight. Absolutely no one. He gave the ball away nearly every single time he touched it. It’s like passing to a brick wall. Deeney, Peyrera and Carillo completely changed the game and injected energy, class and creativity to our play. On a side note, Lukaku was absolutely appalling!!
Reminded me of the City game in that we played well only to find ourselves 3-0 down pretty mcuh out of nowhere. I know they'll be a barage of comments berating our defending, but I wouldn't want is to be more solid at the expense of our attacking play, which was excellent at times again tonight - there is a balance to be found for sure. Gutted for Will Hughes, who I hope is only out for weeks rather than months, but we can take solice from the fact that both Pereyra and Carrillo came on and put in good performances. All in all any loss is a disappointment, but credit to the team for putting on a fearless display. More of the same could see us get a result against Spurs, who seem to be really struggling at the moment.
Defensive naivety comes to mind. A lot of times in the first half, we kept on making hospital passes to each other in defence and we looked so uncomfortable. Doucoure was poor in the first half along with the back 5. Doucoure's foul leading to the *****'s free kick goal should've been done on the half way line- take him out there and it would've been snuffed out. Same with Cleverley and Lingard; instead we just let them go. At least we had some fight back, though I would also put it down to them just taking their foot off the gas.
Anyone feeling depressed that we spent so much on Gray can at least take comfort in the fact United wasted far more on Lukaku
Just when Gray shows signs of excellent hold up play the ball then bounces off him. It’s 100% lack of confidence, not inept ability imo. What does concern me is his lack of sharpness and pace. For £18m I’d expect him to be sharper. He needs time out of the team, work on sharpness and then go again in few weeks.
This is the occasional price you pay for cracking football. I think many people on here said they’d rather go down than watch Mazzarri football, and this year we’re getting better football with results in the main. Leaves us wide open at times but they did score three superb goals. Shame because I don’t think Utd are all that for the money they’ve spent. Not a jot on City. Cleverley my man of the match. Great football brain, always showing for the ball and always fighting. An entertaining go at a fightback when all was lost at half time, Carrillo was excellent when he came on.
It was seen by some as a free pass tonight but we dug in and gave them a game. I have Young on my old Watford top and I’m tempted to tear it off after that overacted celebration. Cannot fault the overall effort to try and get something out of a lost game so there is merit in that. Gray needs to go. Can we get a refund from Burnley?
