Maybe we can't judge players on performance so much given Mazzarri's tactics but I feel we should definitely be allowed to judge their development as how they train is down to themselves. Whilst some may not have agreed with the tactics etc, they are paid more than enough to give their all on the training pitches and put themselves in the best possible shape to be selected, whether the manager picks you or not. Doucoure is a great case in point. Okay he was picked by default in the end by Mazzarri but he was ready to take that chance and run with it. None of us know exactly what goes on behind the scenes but I don't think it takes a genius to see that Success hasn't been doing that. I want him to succeed as much as anyone as he has a lot of talent that will be undoubtedly beneficial to us - but he has to have the appetite to be the best he can be or he will become a rather expensive flop. Silva will know by now whether he's for him or not. If he plays tonight, I'd say he's been told what he needs to do and being given a chance to do it. If he's not involved tonight, I expect him to go on loan, maybe to Udinese or elsewhere.
Even at Granada he was inconsistent and, like Penaranda, was not always the best at decision making. Doucoure was always the most mature of the 3 so it's no surprise that he has come on the most. Success still has a lot to learn so I think a loan with more game time would be good for his development rather than limited opportunities with us this season. Last season he was seen as a solution to our rather combersome and uninspiring attack. We don't have that problem this year so we can afford to lend him out and, hopefully, get a more developed player for next season.
If its understanding the English style of football that he needs then he is better going off to a Championship side on loan till January. Someone like Warnock or McCarthy would soon teach him about the hard work and the physicality that he would need. If he has done well in the first half of the season we then have the choice to keep him or loan him out to another championship team nearer the top of the league, who have more quality. It's all about choosing the right stepping stones for him
Close to joining Hull on loan apparently HULL NEAR SUCCESS MOVE Hull City are close to signing Watfordforward Isaac Success on loan, according to Sky sources. The Hornets landed Success from Granada last summer for a then club-record fee of £12.5m
I think that could be a good deal for us so long as they're paying a fair fee and we have at least an option to bring him back in January if injuries require it.
A year (or half) in the Championship where he will get closed down, hassled and occasionally clogged about will do him the world of good.
Definitely needs some starts. For all his decent forward running on Tuesday, it was him who needlessly gave the ball away for the first Bristol goal. I think we owe Hull one for us nicking Silva.
Don't think this is the right move. A) Why would anyone want to go and live in Hull? B) Slutty is hardly a Championship veteran that can teach Success the ins and outs of lower league football. Would've been better learning from Warnock or McCarthy
I've heard that following on from our increasingly close links with petrol stations he's now staying - he's just signed a lucrative sponsorship deal to be renamed Isaac Successo
Assuming that Warnock or McCarthy were interested. Could it be that this is half of the deal, and the other half is Ranocchia coming here?
Given his injuries last season, got to be question marks over how Mobil he is... (I imagine Nath is silently going insane at this thread)
Maybe Isaac can pump himself up more for games so he has more in the tank. Oil be surpirsed if he doesn't score a few in the championship. Diesel.
Success to hull as part of a deal to bring grosicki to the Vic ? Edit hopefully success doesn't bring too much success to hull.
I imagine the hold up on this one is due to us waiting to sign a winger before we let him go on loan Sent from my G3311 using Tapatalk
Supposedly (SSN) his agent is at the training ground. Hull have switched their attention to Musa but still hoping to go to a Championship club Sent from my G3311 using Tapatalk
Bursaspor apparently want to sign Success on loan for the season. Turkish window closes this Friday. Now that Amrabat has gone, I hope we don't let Success go as well. http://sportwitness.co.uk/watford-transfer-deal-completed-friday-offer-prepared/
Agreed. Our depth on both wings is one of the smallest in the squad. Getting rid of Success would mean we would only have 2 players that are natural wingers (Richarlison and Carrillo). What's even more worring is our ongoing injury problem; which will no doubt see us playing players such as Sinclair,Zarate and Pereyra on the wings if injuries became that absurd. Behrami playing as CB and Gilmartin being on the bench against City goes to show how bad things can get.
He needs to be on the bench every match and given 20 mins as often as possible. There is a superb player in there, and it needs to be coaxed out. I have a bad feeling he is going to become the forgotten man of the club though, as silva will persist with gray for months and months to try and justify the bloated fee we paid for him.
The number of times Richarlison gets targeted for a good kicking each game leads me to believe we need to keep a good reserve of wingers. Definitely keep Isaac. Sent from my G8141 using Tapatalk
Yes but if we had had two keepers on the bench against Leeds when we needed them (Bonham episode) we could well be looking at our fifth straight season in the P.L. great thinking by Mazari!
