Much better highlights on the fiscal site: https://www.watfordfc.com/teams/first-team/highlights-afc-bournemouth-0-2-watford Richarlison expression when gray misses from 6-yards was WFT- I did all the hard work all you had to do was tap it in. After 18 months of waiting Amrabat gets a decent cross in only for Chalobah to step over it! Amrabat looks to be providing plenty of attacking options, he moves down my in my booing chart.
I really like the willingness to attack and shoot. There are always attacking players in space providing options. What we've lack for two years. In these highlights the front six are amazing going forward as a unit. Chalobah gets better by the game and really played well going forward. Richarlison is another level, so direct. Pereyra watch out!
Sorry to hear about your mum Malt, try to remember all the good times. Thoughts are with you and your family.
Just watched the official website highlights. They show lots of parts that weren't show even on Sky's extended highlights on match choice. The flick ove the head followed by nutmeg with his next touch from Richarlson was immense, he really does look the real deal.
Well he's been around the money at Chelsea for years so I'm sure he knows how much big players earn, and frankly I don't think any of us expect him to stick around for the long term. I think his aim was (and is) to play for Chelsea eventually and he's using us as a platform to develop as much as we're using him for both his potential as a footballer and future transfer fee. A Watford player in and England shirt would be triffic.
Wasn't massively happy to see him start against Liverpool but fair play to Cleverley; his work rate has been phenomenal in the last two games. A bit more confidence & quality in the final third and we should soon see him wildly celebrate a goal he has scored.
Interestingly on the Bournemouth fan (s) forum they reckon they lost to a poor Watford team (which doesn't exactly say much for them) I can't find any praise of any sort for us!. At least the Liverpool fans had the decency to say we deserved a point last week!
Doesn't the start of our season so far show once again just how little attention should be taken of pre-season friendlies?! We didn't score in our last three, but have already 5 goals (and 5 different scorers) after two matches of the stuff that really counts! But no doubt we will go through the same panic and hysteria next July! Sighs!
Hopefully for once Malteser you will be wrong and this season will be so good that we will be looking forward to seeing more attacking, flowing, delightful football just like we did in the middle of G.T.'s rein! other teams will fear us!
After 2 games this is our best start out of 5 Premier League seasons, whatever happens next week after three games will still be our best start! 99-2000 LLW 2006-7 LDL 2015-16 DDD 2016 -17 DLL 2017-18 DW?
Thought we played very well yesterday. If we play like that next Saturday we could be in for a big win against brighton. Solid defensively apart from a few individual errors, but was just nice to see Prodl back in the 11. We looked like a real force in attack. Gray got better as the game went on and his movement was excellent. Richarlison best player on the pitch and looks a steal for 11mil. Amrabat still the weak link, but I'll give him credit because I thought it was his best game for a while. All of our midfield 3 were very busy once again and stopped Bournemouth from settling. Looking forward to seeing some of the squad players try to prove a point on Tuesday.
Would love a big win next Saturday. Gray provided runs behind the defence, taking markers away and creating space for the other attakers to pour forward. Amrabat was OK. I'm confident that Marco has a plan for Tuesday and Saturday with regards to resting and rotating and will encourage whoever plays against Bristol to play to win. If I was on the bench I'd make sure that I play well on Tuesday, I'd want to be playing for the first team
What the h*ll is going on here? Gomes and Richarlison. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1127426817358820
It's the trailer for the new adult movie starring Gomes and Richarlison entitled 'Our Time Is Coming'.
Late to the party as I was deep behind enemy lines, out in Bournemouth last night, including bumping into the Bournemouth stamper himself, Tyrone Mings, drowning his team's sorrows in Muff's premier establishment, 'Level8ight Sky Bar'. Imagine saint Eddie will be happy with that as a response to yesterday afternoon. Sorry to hear about your mother Malts, my deepest condolences. A very exciting turn of events yesterday, and we don't even have all our best players fit/transfers in yet. The relief and enjoyment in having a team that are fun to watch and pass, move and run in the way players like Chalobah, Gray and Richarlison did yesterday is palpable. There's always that slight nagging thought in the back of your head before the season/matches of 'will this translate/will our players gel/will Silva be able to apply his talent effectively enough to our set up?' and to see it in come together in action is brilliant. That was the first victory produced from one of our Muff battles in the Prem, wasn't it? I quite enjoy this needling rivalry now, and we really don't have anyone else to have a similar relationship with; it does bring an added spice to the games, which can be fun, and we've missed it for all the years Luton have been embarrassing themselves many levels below. It's obviously not exactly the same, but it did grow organically; it's not forced, so it feels relatively natural.
I agree and disagree. I think that if we had pace on the wings, with Richie, Gray or Carillo we can afford a muscular presence in the centre. I also think we'd see more movement from Deeney, or at least I'd expect it. I believe Deeney has the brain to thrive in this system. He needs a chance to show that. Of course, if he chooses to stand flat footed back to back with defenders still and demand the ball at his feet so he can have a scrap 35 yards from goal every attack then he can do one, but I believe he's a better player than that.
Agreed. He might have to wait a while to get his chance though, and he'll have to make sure he takes it when he does. I can't remember the last time we had so many good attacking options.
I think it's going to be a case of 'horses for courses' with Silva and in 2 games he's shown to have a Plan B. Last week he went with Okaka with the intention of having a mobile hulk to bully the Liverpool defence...and it worked. Yesterday, hit them with pace and get the defenders running towards their own goal...and it worked. At some point, he'll need a bulldozer against someone like West Brom, where Deeney fits the bill. The beauty of it is, Silva has options and isn't afraid to mix it up. Apart from the mad 10 minutes in the 2nd half against Liverpool, Silva has got his tactics spot on.
Even those mad 10 mins I could not see a tactical shortfall. Liverpool stepped up 2 gears and simultaneously our players just made more enforced errors.
I think he means their own performance? Have to be careful not to be like Charlton fans were in that they expected too much too soon.
