Richarlison's movement for his goal was fantastic. When he saw that Gray got free, he could've continued his run on the other side of Smith and tried to get ahead of him but he checked and got inside him. That little bit of movement made the goal possible.

For the second, huge credit has to go to Cleverley. After Gray's shot had been saved and spooned up in the air, Cleverley sprinted in like a maniac and forced the Bournemouth defender into a panicked clearance. If it hadn't been for that effort, the ball would've been easily cleared as we had no-one else anywhere near. Even more impressive coming in the 86th minute.

To be honest, Cleverley did alot of 'dirty work' and covered every blade of grass on that pitch - easily his best game since he re-joined us and clearly enjoying his football again.

Thought he was harshly marked by the Wobby, he got into the box, found the space in the hole which led to his pass to Gray for the second goal and got back to defend.

One of those players we'd notice if he wasn't playing.

I went to WBGS too way back. 64-70. Hated the effing place. C.nts. Stuck it to them with 14 crayfish in the pool right up the swimming sports day one year though. Other firms didn't like a crayfish up the nostril either ...

Way too analytical. A thread doesn't have a 'purpose'. It has a life of its own. With a number of sub-textures. So you post what you like and let others do the same. No-one likes a control freak.

Liked for the ballsy grovelling apology, the Real Madrid fantasy, the OTT ironic comment on their cute ground when our 3 sided stadium wasn't even pretty, and the back to earth realism on our League cup chances. :D

It's easy to get carried away with a very good performance like yesterday's and yes, it was exciting and the team over all played well.

But. Gomes started out very poorly. His distribution was awful and it was his rotten kick that nearly led to them scoring (when he got the ball in his eye). He kept a clean sheet, but it was really only a 6/10 performance.

Similarly Chalobah. Improved dramatically in the second half, but a lot of wayward passing and seemed just a half second too slow on the ball in the first.

Similarly Capoue. Lovely goal, but his first contribution was a horrible slice up in the air into his own 6 yard box, which could easily have cost us.

Similarly Britos. His first 20 minutes was abominable and he went back to his hopeless long punts forward again.

On the plus side, Richie Richarlison was excellent and I though Gray's hold up play and passing was very good indeed - he does that better than either Deeney or Okaka. The shot at the end of the first half was deemed a sitter, but you could see from the camera angle behind him that he only had a small area (and closing fast) of the goal to aim at. You can tell he'll start scoring soon.

My favourite new player though is Kiko F. Lovely player. Rapid feet, pinpoint passing, strong and can put in a cross. I'm delighted to have him in yellow. A real classy player.

Seeing Richie Rich volley the ball over the bournemouth RB, control it on the way down then go into a cruyff turn to beat the same man all whilst on the move (Albeit he got tackled afterwards) just reaffirms the fact that he is now my favourite player. Him and doucoure are so calm and collected on the ball its not even funny.

    Richard is silky.

It was Britos that lunged in as Afobe lined up the open goal after a few minutes, deflecting it over.

Yep true - an important tackle that was. I'd forgotten about that to be honest.

He was like Chalobah in that respect, some very important contributions and periods of great play, but pretty ordinary in others.

I might have mentioned it before but for me Eddie Howe is the spitting image of Alan Tracy in Thunderbirds. He (Howe) has done an excellent job for Muff and is obviously a coach of some standing who will be tempted away at some point. But that's all they are. The Eddie Howe show. Beyond that it's just illusions of grandeur encouraged by the press.

I'd like to like them because, under Howe, they've played some great football but it's all the cheating and niggling that, well, niggles.

Howe's greatest crime however was to go to the 1984 Cup Final and decide to support Everton rather than us. His local team just down the road from Amersham. He could have become an 'Orn, like many others in Amersham, but chose to forego the honour and suck on a toffee instead.

And for that crime against humanity he can be strapped in Thunderbird 4, encased in a concrete sarcophagus and gently lowered into the waters of the Pacific above the deepest point of the Marianas Trench.

Am sick and tired of people making excuses for that horrible scrote just because he lost a child - yes i feel for him and his family but that does not mean that he can strut around behaving like a chavvy thug for 90 mins each week - his tackling should see him offed far more than it does and i do wonder why Refs are so lenient - what he did on Saturday is an unspoken absolute no no within the game- maybe a pub team on a sunday but even then i doubt it- it is easy to do and people don't do it - why? - because it is ****ish

I don't expect Howe to act formally but i bet he takes him aside and says "never again" - it just reinforces the view that HARRY ARTER IS A ****

Do we have any Watford fans that do 'vlogs'? I can't stand it and it just seems a bit strange.

Great performance and it really does look like we'll easily finish top 10 this season.

The best bit of this thread for me (coming to it late), apart from the celebration of our magnificent victory, is how a match thread can seemlessly morph into a quality discussion on higher education admissions policy instead.

Only on the mighty 'Orns forum. You never get that sort of thing on a wet Tuesday evening in January in Stoke.

The worst bit is the continuing presence of Hornet4never and his boorish 'theme'. It was mildly amusing to begin with but the horse has now been well and truly flogged and only the bones are left.
