Mazzarri is a gutless ******* coward to be honest. Hope he never gets another job in his life. Really really hope Deeney isn't leaving but it felt like it with that walk and speech. Everyone should be due a refund for that to be honest, out the players wages at that. As a paying we're not owed much and I don't expect much but the bare minimum effort would be nice. Lots and lots of work to do over the summer and despite all that, I'm quite excited about the future.
Mazzarri is gone. Deeney might be gone - still can't see anyone paying the money though. Season is over. We stayed up. Still want Silva after today? Let's sit on it a few weeks, lets the managerial merry-go-round play out...
I've had more fun at a funeral. I'd prefer the players to 'show their appreciation' of the fans by putting in a bit of effort during the game. Just hope the young lads that played today aren't too emotionally damaged by their experience. Well done Niang for rescuing the damaged bird from the halfway line. Revolting that the second half was allowed to start with the poor helpless creature on the pitch - but that's enough about Capoue.
It was a very odd decision by Mazzari not to start Deeney. Team in injury meltdown and your captain, the club's best player at defending set pieces, is benched. That's plain disrespectful. It show's that saying '**** you' to Deeney was above all else for Mazzari today. And what happens? We concede from the first set piece. I'm not in the Mazzari hating camp, but his personality was too brittle for a club like ours.
Prior to kick off thought we'd put on a display and grind out a draw. Then I saw the defence and the bench
We played **** with a threadbare team and got beaten by one of the best attacking sides in the country. Every time we lose heavily at least one person claims that they should be given a refund and it's embarrassing. Anyone who bought a ticket for today's game would have know what was coming. When you buy a ticket you pay to watch a football match; there are no other guarantees. It irritates me that in an age where clubs increasingly treat supporters like customers, people help them to do this by acting exactly like customers and demanding refunds when they are not satisfied with the 'product'.
Another one to add to my earlier list. We hoped we might improve defensively this season because of Mazzarri's reputation, but we conceeded a staggering 23 goals from crosses, by far the most in the league.
Not sure who else could have played. I personally think Okaka offers more than Deeney and they don't work well as a partnership. It was an awful showing from everyone today
Nothing to say about the match. The Watford fans were fantastic though. To sit through that and to stay behind to clap the team. Shame Mazzarri did not give the supporters the same courtesy, but didn't really expect he would. We stayed up. Now we can flush this season down the loo where it belongs.
No one else that could of played, just all fairly consistently useless, to add to our defensive woes. Okaka less so.
I'd definitely keep Okaka and Doucoure. Cannot wait for Capoue to **** off. Loads of people left at half time, wish I joined them.
City were excellent. They had purpose, and fantastic work rate. They have the best players in the league, but only decided to play properly at the beginning and end of the season. We were bad but had nothing to play for, and had no fit centre backs. Any side in the league would have lost by a landslide without central defenders against City today. The sun was out, Mazarri's gone (although I thought some of the jeering was OTT), and we can finally start again with some proper footballers. Let's not act like we didn't expect that (and worse) today. I'm already excited for next year.
The less said about that shambolic performance the better. It represented our season perfectly though. Apart from doucoure, janmaat and cleverely i wouldnt think twice if we lose any of the players who started that game. Have I missed something regarding Success? Haven't seen him in the last few match day squads but haven't heard anything about him being injured? If he was fit today but left out that's a truly disgraceful decision. We had 2 goal keepers on the bench, 2 keepers!! What is that all about, I didn't even realise that was a thing! Only positive is seeing the back of Mazzarri. Ended up being a poisonous character who nearly wrecked everything we've worked towards over the last few seasons. Regardless of who comes in next, I doubt they'll be able to cause such a huge disconnection between the club and the fans. First time in my life I've been happy to see a season to come to an end. Time for a massive overhaul
Well that was great thanks Walter for ******* us all over i think maybe this Russian take over talk might be a good idea
Would have been incendiary to do so. Turning up at all showed a bit of bottle. He has said plenty of complementary things about the fans before, it's the players he needed to get on with.
All Watford FC customers should get a refund within the 14 day money back guarantee if we are still emotionally deranged and strangulated from watching our product capitulate at the end of the cooling down period.
It looked like at the end, Pep was coaching Okaka and Capoue, pointing to different areas of the pitch and gesturing with his hands like a coach tends to do. It possibly could've been to do with when Okaka was frustrated at Jesus and Clichy, but it looked different to that.
Having so many injuries made a difference today, of course it did. But why have we got so many injuries? Luck or poor management / coaching / fitness / preparation?
I was really surprised when all 4 stands clapped Aguero when he came off, but I thought it was a nice touch so joined in enthusiastically, (well to be fair we had f*** all else to clap). He looked like he didn't know how to react to the home fans applauding him.
What was the reception like at the end of the game? That was worse that the awful Huddersfield performance 3 years ago, pathetic. It seemed a lot left early like I did. Mazzari should not have been allowed to manage the side today, end of, he had no relation with the fans so it is not like we wanted to give his a send-off like QSF had with some. The fact that most of the crowd chanted for him to be sent off sums it up, a big mistake by those at top. As for the selection, OK there were injuries but two keepers on the bench? Don't care if there is a last minute injury, it's a home game, there were plenty of youth players there, put them on the bench to get experience of being part of a squad not Gilmartin, ridiculous. I had no real issue with him leaving Deeney out for Okaka but today, with all the injuries, there was a real lack of leaders, I would have actually played Troy at centre back a la Dion Dublin at times in his career, at least he would have perhaps challenged and been able to organise players but also keep the heads up of the young players getting blasted away by some excellent attackers. I love Aguero, pure class, I think I have seen him 4 times against Watford and he has got at least 8 goals! I will leave the last bit to Niang, **** off you ****. He got tackled and demanded to be subbed straight away because he thought he should have got a foul, there was nothing wrong with him, the little *****. He should have been nowhere near the squad with it known he was leaving. This has been an awful season, the number of highlights can be counted on one hand. Yet again, we have a new manager coming in and another massive overhall in players needed because if we do not add at least 6 more proper first team players we will be dead and buried.
Really enjoyed watching City. Fully expected a tonking and was amazed it wasn't 8. On a different note, not sure why any in demand manager would want to come to us at the moment...I have a horrible feeling we will settle for another Walt type character Also not sure whether the Pozzos have the money for this total overhaul that everybody expects. 10 new players maybe but not at the quality that is required. Think it will be a slower build
Why was Amrabat marking their centre back on the first corner of the game it beggers belief. When I say marking, I mean standing closest to him, because he certainly didn't make a challenge. What has been going on down the training ground this season?
