Everything I hate about football right there. Instead of celebrating, you go and provoke some innocent guy and his daughter.
If Utd go out that's all the traditional top 4 out the cup & with fading chances of winning the Prem. At least 2 will probably miss out on a Champions League place also. Funny old season. Ha ha.
Just got back. Ok, the Emirates...soul less bowl of a stadium...don't get me wrong it's very nice...but quiet as anything. Our support was very good, but the problem with so many fans spread out and on different levels that the singing was somewhat disjointed. First half was a bit iffy but second half we started well and caused them all sorts of problems. Great finish by Iggy, happy for him as I thought his head had gone in first half as nothing was coming off for him. What a strike by Gueds, was right behind it. Last 10 minutes I couldn't watch...and when they scored I had to go to the concourse. At final whistle, Iggy, Gueds and Oulare ran straight to the fans it meant that much to them. Immensely proud to be a Watford fan today.
It's a little funny though, you have to admit. It's also not every day you knock out the back-to-back winners (and current holders) of the FA cup. It's just a bit of fun, there was clearly no malice intended.
watched the game from the club seats by the directors box....have to say, very comfortable way to watch football the hornets fans were great - the singing was very loud and the gooner fans next to me said that listening to the songs was more interesting than the game. Kind of reminded me of when we played palace at home I'm so glad I'm a fan of a team like watford. The arsenal fans moaned all game long even when they were on top... Like to know who the two fans were in the directors box who ignored protocol and went ballistic when Gueds scored Wellbecks miss was freakin hilarious I got home and my wife and two older daughters want to have a family day out at wembley These are serious happy days to be a watford fan see you all at wembley...
The videos on 'Arsenal Fan TV' are hilarious. Such a mongy, plastic set of fans decked head to toe in Arsenal merchandise that probably cost £200. I'm absolutely thrilled that we've ended their season, the stupid bast**rds.
For all the fans that didn't go today. One question why? Days like today don't come around very often. Don't care what you had arranged today - cancel it. - you are fecking muppets. Absolutely buzzing after today. We got a bit of luck but were magnificent
I didn't go. I couldn't go. I have considerations in my life that are, ultimately, more important than an FA Cup quarter final. I'm terribly sorry if that offends you.
Well, well,Wellbeck ...er well! Deep joy- thought it might be our day when a little girl gooner dropped her frisbee outside the Drayton Park and it was run over, twice. Beautiful stadium but even quieter than Highbury from memory. Cathcart was Bobby Moore/Kaiser- esque but everyone was special. Masterstroke by Quique picking 'Pep'-what a strike! To the young man in the green bomber jacket with whom I bonded outside the ground, post match-well played but pace yourself! I now understand why they wanted us in by 12,30pm-it took about 45 minutes to find 3 veggie and one steak pie. Were they not expecting a crowd? The young lady was very pleasant and even apologised when I asked for a feedback form.I wasn't going to fill it in but eat it! Gooners on the way out and back to Finsbury Park were either smiling at me or had a bad case of wind, not sure which. Happy evening everyone!:sign15:
Just like 87 I was there in the clock end that day a lot of sore losers on the way home just laughed at one guy in costa coffee at Victoria so much he changed his mind and left. I still have not seen us lose away since muff last year that's a run of 15 away games I have been to unbeaten When Troy goes up to life the FA cup we'll be there we'll be there
My hero is back! Now Quique, give him a chance for the rest of the season.....what a strike! Magnificent performance for the whole 96 minutes....SOOOO PROUD!
I've brought my mate to 3 games this season when my brother couldn't come. These games were Watford 3-0 Liverpool, Watford 2-1 Newcastle and today. Should I get him a ticket to Wembley!?
I can only see one outcome now: A win against Palace in the semis, and then we beat Everton in the final. The only 2 teams we have ever lost to at Wembley, and possibly 2 of my darkest days as a Watford fan. In the words of the great Muhammed Ali: "If you lose a big fight, it will worry you all of your life. It will plague you - until you get your revenge" Those days are coming...
Oh my word, that's the true magic of the cup - even Ben Watson is smiling in that photo. I'm so happy with that result, but so torn at the same time as I'm in Montenegro for the wife's 40th on FA Cup final day. Missing it if we make it there is going to be soul destroying.
We're the least favourite to win the cup according to the bookies but I'd say there's the same chance of anyone to win. It's impossible to make predictions in this crazy season.
What a game! I wouldn't have missed that for the world, have no voice left. Brilliant day! Deeney was immense as always despite being lucky not to be carried off. A great flick on for the first, he knew exactly what he was going to do and Ighalo finally got a turn right (he had the beating of his man all game to be fair I thought). As for the second, wow! Again, great hold up play by Troy and what a rocket. If I am being honest, from the upper tier, for a split second I thought it had hit the stantion of the goal and then the back of the net, surely he couldn't score form there? But he did! Every player played their part, solid defense, even in the final few minutes and midfield, especially Behrami, run all game. Excellent! It was lovely to get on the train from Kings Cross with all those Arsenal fans on there looking so glum and moaning about Wenger, Welbeck, Walcott and co, no grace in defeat at all, it was all about how they should have beaten 'little' Watford. What happened with Gomes by the way? I am sure he was down to start.
It was an admin error apparently. The team sheet should have said Pants & the FA we happy to let him play.
What a day! Made up for Guediora was fantastic today, lost the ball a few times but what a screamer! Two assists for Troy! Happy for Ighalo too, needed that, could've had a hat-trick. Everyone excellent, special praise for Behrami, fantastic. Could point out little weaknesses in today's performance, IE Nyom first half but who cares!!! Ozil is an absolutely wonderful footballer! Palace please!
