I am in shock ,happy shock ,but shock nonetheless what a performance from every watford player today and our crowd was nothing less than superb ! Now to erase the last wembley nightmare!

Who cares what people outside of football think? I couldn't give two shytes whether they know or not - there's not a Watford fan in the world who won't be looking forward to the semi-final. Our players don't play for fans of cross-stitching, football, Luton or Man Utd. They play for us, and if you're not making the most of that then more fool you.

From an opponent point of view that Welbeck miss was classic.

Imagine Roy Hodgson watching that game and then preferring Welbeck to Deeney.

Guedioura can't do any more to justify some league minutes than today's performance. Goal aside his composure, strength and passing did a lot for us. Good man.

The German Eurosport commentator complimented our support and that was even before we scored. Particularly after Gueds' rocket it was just deafening ...

Well done those involved, I salute you.

Wellbeck's not as bad as Antonio's miss last season.

About 8300 WFC fans there today, but it sounded like the stadium was full. Well done all.

I seriously had to leave the room

Otherwise it was an amazing performance

Yes but surely you realise that Arsenal were about to go out of the FA Cup so were throwing everything forward? So they were always going to end the match on top..

Anyway, not wanting to start a debate after this great result!

I really don't think it matters what the wider public think about the cup. The whole debate about does it matter less than it did is irrelevant and rather boring.

What matters is how it matters to all of us on this forum. And the supporters of Palace, Everton and maybe to Van Gaal if he wins it in a season where he has been pilloried all year.

And to me it really matters. Because realistically we aren't going to win the league. Or a European trophy. But the cup is a possibility. It's our dream of silverware, of forever being in the record books. It matters a lot, especially as PL survival is assured.

If losing the Championship title in injury time last year mattered to you, then so should the FA cup.

Before Third Round Day, I read an interview with Troy where he said football had been good to him, but the one thing missing was a cup run. It matters to him too!

Incidentally, two of the managers of clubs we've beaten in the cup this season have now been sacked this week! Would you bet on Evans and Wenger surviving til next season??

The only downside I saw was Watson's passing. Shame because rest of his game was excellent.

  15. You read it, but you fail to understand it.

I don't give a damn about what others think about us in this competition. I am excited, and it's great to be in the semis. But thirty years ago everyone cared about the competition, and that is the point people are trying to make about what the cup meant then, and why it was magic.

I feel as excited as I would have done about the semis of the league cup. There is no magic other than the slight novelty that this was once a cup competition to rival the world cup in popularity and following, even exceeding it in some places.

Brilliant display. Looking forward to the semis.

"There are unconfirmed report that the speed was 86.4mph, which would place it sixth on the all-time list of fastest shots, according to this here list "http://www.theguardian.com/football/2007/feb/14/theknowledge.sport

    Fantastic performance by the boys.

Can't fault a single one of them.

A good laugh is over at Arsenal mania forum where some of their fans are complaining about the ref, as if they have grounds to stand on!

'This is one of the most outrageous goals you will see/read about all season. Deeney latches onto a long ball and holds the ball up magnificently, waiting for support. It duly arrives in the form of Guedioura, who neglects to take a touch from Deeney’s lay-off, and instead rockets a first-time shot into the roof of Ospina’s net from 20 yards out at about 4,926mph.'

Yes, of course I realise! I am simply imagining that they didn't want to go out of the cup at any stage of the game, however they only became a serious threat once Guids went off, we can debate all day why that may be, it's simply my opinion that when Abdi sat in front of Nyom Arsenal created chances down that channel.
You can look back to Ozils flattening Behrami to realise Arsenals frustration of being closed down so completely, I don't agree with you that they had not been trying until they realized they might go out the FA cup!

There's a difference between not understanding, and not agreeing.

When we went up last year, I was delighted beyond belief. That was because the team that I've grown up supporting achieved something historic, and something that I'll remember for probably the rest of my life.

I honestly couldn't care less if Mr Jones on the corner of my road thought of that achievement. I don't give a shyte if Mrs Smith spent the week looking forward to Watford playing away at Brighton. I'm not bothered if Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger or Roy Hodgson couldn't keep their eyes away from the Amex Stadium.

That game mattered because it's a phenomenal achievement in the history of our football club, and because our supporters and our team were there the whole way, not because everyone else was looking forward to it. It's the same with the FA Cup.

Thus becoming the first of our permanent signings in the past year to get on the scoresheet for us!

And yes, it's our first win against Wenger..first non loss actually, after 6 defeats to him in 5 league and 1 cup match.

Our current worst run without a win against a PL side is Man Utd, who of course we could meet in the semis!

It was though in a way good last ditch defending too. There were three Watford players launching at him so Welbeck didn't have an extra split second to swivel the few degrees that would have meant a goal.

Not that it matters but surely Wengers time is up? our game was very similar to their recent Leicester league game (although they won that) a one man advantage and a goal down but they only started playing with about 10 minutes to go. They aren't ever going to win the league again, or the champions league and now they don't even have the F.A. cup to fall back on.

What a guy for having the bollix to have a crack at it. We've been tame shooters all season - Guedioura didn't get the memo.
