Amazing result. QSF, the players and every WFC fan in the stadium should be proud of themselves. Gutted I wasn't there but nothing detracts from that. Unbelievable.
You are always an optimist malteser bless yer cotton socks. You were bound to be right at some point. :naughty:
What a performance. Pantilimon was great, and his 'time-wasting' was hilarious too. Ake and Nyom were great, Nyom had Sanchez in his pocket all match. Midfield brilliant, especially Behrami and Troy and Ighalo were fantastic. All the subs played their part too, a much better cameo for Anya than against United. MOTM was Cathcart, one of the best individual performances I've ever seen from a WFC player
By far the best I've felt coming out of any game this season, what a scary final 7 or so mins but oh my god what a performance. If West Ham win today we have a huge chance to get to the finals - Gueds really taking his chance - should he be starting? Ake and Cathcart were so impressive today, Pants looked good until the goal and then it got kinda shaky but who cares we just beat Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates!!!!!!!
Wonderful performance! We battled our hearts out. But by god, Arsenal are an absolute travesty. They played right into our hands, it was ridiculous. I think it might take a full on riot to get rid of Wenger.
What happened to us today? We hardly ever hoofed it out, we played lovely little ones twos and passed our way out of trouble and into great attacking positions, why haven't we done that in the league more recently? Absolutely brilliant, and Gueds goal is up there with one of the best I have ever seen... and Pantilimon, that bloke has balls of absolute steel!
He showed today he can add goals which is something we need and he put some brilliant crosses in and played well. However, he didn't protect Nyom as much as say Abdi does, and sometimes he tried to over complicate things. For those reasons I can see why he doesn't start, but if he can improve on those aspects he could be an important player for us in the run in
I can't believe it! I've had permanent goosebumps for a good 30 minutes now. Absolutely gutted I couldn't be there today as I was heading off skiing today - but my Watford shirt will be doing the rounds on the mountain tomorrow! Huge work from QSF and the boys and everyone who could be there! Bleed yellow!
There is a world of difference between being in the semis of your country's premier cup competition, and the sheer magic and national consciousness of being in the FA Cup semis thirty years ago. Few people outside of football will be able to tell you who is in the semis even on the days they are played now, but practically the whole country could have told you forty years ago. It is exciting, but not because it is the FA Cup; that title means very little now compared to what it once meant.
I'm sure you're not being serious as you obviously know Arsenal began throwing everything forward? Their chances were coming left, right and centre towards the end
Nyom hardly needed protection. It's interesting to see that as soon as you make Nyom face a winger by himself, he excels, whereas when he's got help he seems to struggle. Today, we had Nyom contributing in defence and Gueds contributing going forward, as opposed to Nyom and Abdi both struggling to make an impact anywhere.
Haha! Well if one can't be optimistic this season, one can never be optimistic! It's a great time to be a supporter and everybody should be enjoying it, even when we get the occasional run without a goal! Memories are being made now that we will look back on in 15-20 years time and remember fondly. Actually I think our league form will probably suffer up to semi final day and I think whoever we get will be tough opponents, each believing it's their year too, but I'm going to enjoy tonight as I head back to the South West However, as great as today is, it counts for little if we lose another semi final. We've won nothing yet but are 2 games away from history. That will ease the pain of missing out on the championship title last season won't it!!!!!
Of course I'm being serious, what were you watching, Arsenal came into the game after he went off, didn't you notice?
