http://www.watfordfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Home/0,,10400,00.html Celleeeeeeeebrate good times, come on!
Get in there! Useless to$$er! I would say good luck to him, but because he's such a tw*t I don't think i'll bother. Good riddance.
What memories would they be? Being skinned every week by average wingers? Punting the ball AT our players with that stupid 9-iron left-foot of his? Under-hitting corners, free-kicks and being caught out of position all the time?! Deary me.
Another bloody stupid Boothroyd decision, What is the man on What if Sadler gets injured on Sunday, who is he going to play at LB He should have been kept until the our interest in the playoffs were over :dismay: Utter utter madness IMHO :dismay::dismay::dismay:
He's put in some solid performances on the odd day, can't say i'll miss him, but we all liked Jords at one point.
I'm sure we'll be able to find some random bloke off the street to cover if needs be. Let's be honest, we found Jordan Stewart
exactly :S get rid of him at end of season if he isn't in his plans...but before 2 possibly 3 huge games
Id much rather stick Parkes in ahead Stewart, even Mariappa at left back would be a better option. Strange we've let him go early though.
Jackson's been released as well. Not official - yet! So that's £500k of next season's kitty spent already
Your saying you would rather parkes or mariappa ahead of stewart, yet wondering why we have got rid of him...you just made him 4th choice left back thats probably why id have kept him til end of season
Maybe he'd already agreed to leave after the final league game, perhaps he's already got an MLS deal lined up and wanted to get over there ASAP.
I agree. Stewart has actually been looking quite good when he has played recently. I might even have chosen him ahead of McAnuff at left wing. If we play Palace in the Playoff final I'd also much rather had his pace at left-back to try and match theirs, instead of Sadler who will be getting skinned all over the shop. Oh, and he is also very good at helping to run the clock down should we be in the lead in games.
What a stunning decision, take a bow Aidy you daft c*nt! The fans got rid of Mahon and now Stewart, who next?
Dear oh dear, you don't need pace to avoid being 'skinned all over the shop'! If you can read the game and position yourself properly, you stand a good chance of stopping someone! Sadler is a clever player, he isn't exactly that slow either! Stop worrying!! :dismay:
I think there's a pattern forming. They may be out the club because they're not good enough! Stewart and Mahon have been two real WEAK links all season!
Agreed, another example of Boothroyd's poor timing. Letting our second left-back/potential left winger go with only days to go until the most important matches in the clubs recent history. If Sadler does get injured Boothroyd's inept tactical nous will be revealed...he'll probably convert Demerit to left-back he's made him play almost everywhere else
Stewart has done nothing wrong in his last few opinions and to be honest gets a lot more blame then is warranted. This is a ridiculous decision. He was not as bad as the fans made him out and yet he got booed for no reason at all. I still remember him needlessly getting booed off against Millwall in Aidy's first season - I felt like walking into the east stand and apologising to him myself. Cheers Jords, good luck in the rest of your career.
Very surprised by this. Ridicuolous timing, as other people have said he provides cover and is a very popular figure around the club. There is obviously something within the club that we don't know about that has sparked this.
I agree that we could quite easily bring in better quality players, however its the timing of releasing stewart which has pi$$ed me off. i know you mentioned bringing in a randomer off the street if sadler got injured, now jokes aside (although you probably wasn't joking), Say sadler does get injured (not likely, could happen though) who have we got to bring in?? just going to throw parkes in or mariappa at left back :dismay: Stewart has a bit of experience and could also cover at left wing as others have mentioned.
It's a fair point, Dan. Joking aside, the timing is poor, and as mentioned above it is a massive gamble hoping that Sadler is 100% fit for the next 3 matches. I think Mariappa would do a job at left-back, but I suppose i'd rather have a natural left-footed player instead. Mariappa is quite versatile though, and has filled a few gaps in the past. I don't think the thought of Mariappa at left-back is ridiculous at all.
True. Not ridiculous, just a matter of opinion, stewart or mariappa at left back?? Demerit is another one suggested, however i could see him drifting to far into his usual centre back position and leave gaps on the wing
the watford observer seems to think that he spoke out of turn during the scunny inquest and i assume that now parkes is back he will act as cover for sadler. whether he is good enough remains to be seen.
