Here we go again. Elections are always a good time to stir unrest, mobilise and agitate your nuttiest supporters, try to instigate violent attacks on parliament and government offices. We saw it clearly on Jan 6th in the USA. Now, yet again, that empire is trying hard to make a coup de etat in Venezuela. After countless previous efforts. The USA, instigator of an economic war against Venezuela for decades now, including punitive sanctions, says that it will recognise the election loser, it's friend and ally, to in fact be the winner! Is what the USA wants part of Venezuela's constitution? Is Venezuela a colony of the gringos? Some may recall when various countries including the UK disgracefully, followed the USA lead last time and recognised the ridiculous and mostly forgotten Juan Guidó (now resident in Miami and charged with money laundering, treason and usurping public functions). I really hope Britain will be firm enough to resist the USA entreaties this time. Why is the USA so worried about Venezuela? It's the human rights you see. The little Venezuelan boys and girls. Freedom. That's why they are bravely trying to engineer the overthrow of a sovereign country's government. Nothing at all to do with the world's largest oil reserves. No, no, no. Well, except Trump freely boasted about it... The press misinformation here in the west about Venezuela should be taken with a massive pinch of salt. It is all part of the latest coup attempt. Viva President Maduro and the Bolivarian Revolution! Viva Venezuela! Viva Chavismo!
Or maybe you like the opinion of the world's richest man, multi-billionaire Elon Musk. Perhaps you think he is really concerned for the little Venezuelan boys and girls. Elon Musk Blasts Venezuela’s Maduro in an Escalating War of Words Mr. Musk, who has long criticized leftist politicians, called President Nicolás Maduro a “dictator” and compared him to a donkey. Over the last four days, Elon Musk has spoken out more than 50 times about President Nicolás Maduro of Venezuela — and the comments have been far from flattering. “Shame on Dictator Maduro,” Mr. Musk wrote on X on Sunday, as results came in from Venezuela’s presidential election. The next morning, Mr. Musk posted that there had been “major election fraud by Maduro.” Since then, the world’s richest man has also compared Mr. Maduro to a donkey and suggested that he would be open to fighting the autocratic leader in hand-to-hand combat. The attacks against Mr. Maduro, who is one of the prominent symbols of the left in Latin America, stood out for their sudden volume and aggression. They were part of a pattern by Mr. Musk of denouncing leftist ideals and socialism. Mr. Musk, who has endorsed former President Donald J. Trump in the U.S. presidential race, suggested that the United States could become like Venezuela if voters backed the Democratic Party in November. At a news conference on Wednesday, Mr. Maduro responded to Mr. Musk’s comments by calling the tech billionaire a “murderer.” He also accused Mr. Musk of financing protesters in Venezuela. “Whoever messes with me becomes withered,” Mr. Maduro added. Mr. Musk previously involved himself in Latin American politics through X, which he owns and has used to influence global politics. Mr. Musk, who has more than 192 million followers on X, has talked up Jair Bolsonaro, the former president of Brazil, and Javier Milei, the president of Argentina, on the platform. The governments of both men, who are conservatives, have offered business advantages to Tesla and SpaceX. criticized as deeply flawed. The next morning, Mr. Musk posted that there had been “major election fraud by Maduro.” Since then, the world’s richest man has also compared Mr. Maduro to a donkey and suggested that he would be open to fighting the autocratic leader in hand-to-hand combat. Mr. Musk, the 53-year-old chief executive of Tesla and SpaceX, has often criticized heads of state, including President Biden, on X. But the attacks against Mr. Maduro, who is one of the prominent symbols of the left in Latin America, stood out for their sudden volume and aggression. They were part of a pattern by Mr. Musk of denouncing leftist ideals and socialism. In Venezuela, he has said, he sees a failed state with a collapsed economy that he blames on the corruption of leftist politicians. In some of his posts, Mr. Musk, who has endorsed former President Donald J. Trump in the U.S. presidential race, suggested that the United States could become like Venezuela if voters backed the Democratic Party in November. In effect, Mr. Musk is using the firestorm over Venezuela’s election to reinforce his worldview that socialist and leftist forces are degrading global society, said Eugenia Mitchelstein, an associate professor at the University of San Andrés in Buenos Aires. Mr. Musk appears to have posted only once about Venezuelan politics before Sunday, she said, and is using the questions over the country’s election to “score very easy political points.” “It’s the perfect case for him to be on the right side and to make allegiances to both the rule of law and right-wing politics,” Ms. Mitchelstein said. Mr. Musk did not respond to a request for comment. The United States and other countries have denounced Venezuela’s election results, which the country’s electoral authority claimed showed Mr. Maduro as the clear winner over the main opposition candidate, Edmundo González. New York Times reporters witnessed instances of voter intimidation, and the country’s electoral authority had not released a full vote count as of Wednesday. Mr. Musk, who has more than 192 million followers on X, has talked up Jair Bolsonaro, the former president of Brazil, and Javier Milei, the president of Argentina. Mr. Musk has been less kind to Latin American leaders on the left. In 2020, he suggested that the United States could overthrow the socialist party that had been elected in Bolivia, a country with vast sources of lithium, which is a crucial component in Tesla’s car batteries. “We will coup whoever we want!” Mr. Musk posted at the time. “Deal with it.”

I'll hand it to Maduro, as someone with an iron grip on the country, he could have said he won with 85% of the electorate, no he goes for a moderate 51.5% (or thereabouts) to make it more believable. I know from Venezuelan friends that there is a massive urge for change. Maduro is running the country into the ground and many Venezuelans have left over the last decade, Lima is full of Venezuelan immigrants, a number of whom are causing a lot of trouble and are generally blamed for a sharp rise in crime in Peru (and other Andean countries). Maduro has complete control of the media, the police, the military and decisively, their equivalent of the Electoral Commission. He constantly bans opposition leaders from running in elections when he thinks they get too popular, very similar to how Russia does things. The opposition parties united in this election and although you can take their exit poll with a pinch of salt, they claim that their candidate won with approximately 70% of the vote, they have challenged Maduro to release the official counts by area but hasn't done so yet. I suspect that Maduro did actually lose the election but I reckon it's somewhere in the region of 45/55 not the 30/70 that the opposition are claiming but close enough for Maduro to engineer some 6-7% swing in the next few weeks.
As ever with Latin American politics, things are a little more complex than that. Presumably you'd agree that the USA would very much like to take control of Venezuela's oil? And of course the past attempted coups, the cyber attacks, the crippling sanctions are all a matter of clear record. We've long heard gleeful stories from western media about how Venezuela's economy is on the point of collapse with ludicrous inflation, long queues for petrol in a major oil producing country and mass emigration. However things had gone quiet up until the elections. Inflation had consistently dropped and it looked like they were getting things under control, the oil industry was getting sorted out and Biden even started buying Venezuelan oil again. That's what Trump is complaining about in the video. When you look at their voting process, it seems pretty secure. Fingerprint recognition and all sorts of security. There were over 900 international observers, none of whom reported any concerns about irregularities. I agree it would help if they released the detailed counts, but at the same time, why should they bow to the demands of the US bully? They're a sovereign country, not a colony and don't have to obey orders. I understand they've referred the results to their supreme court for ratification, which the gringo media refers to as 'state controlled', so their verdict can't be trusted. Of course here in the UK, our high court judges (Eton/Oxbridge) are hardly anti-establishment rebels. If the government says that's the law, then that's how they judge it. The USA supreme court judges are ludicrously politically appointed by the president for life and are horrifically corrupt. It's a bit hypocritical to complain about a lack of judicial independence in my view. As for the Venezuelan delincuentes in El Perú, I can't say I'm surprised. The same in Colombia they say. The real Venezuelan comemierdas are of course in Miami and teaming up with the Cuban mafia wormery. El peor del peor. When a revolution comes and stops their games like drugs, gambling, prostitution, landlordery and landowning and other exploitation, those gangsters are the first to leave. That's why you can walk round la Habana any time of day or night in peace and safety and you cannot in rich Miami. Most of the shítbags have left. The banned opposition you mention are representatives of that same annexationist, corrupt wormery. I'd urge you to have a little Google into their background and you'll see what I mean. Juan Guidó being a prime example. You're right to take their instant claims they had won and their other supposed counts with a large dose of salt. Exit polls are illegal in Venezuela. These people are prime liars. Hopefully we'd also agree that the US recognising the loser as the winner is cynical and aggressive. Imagine if the reverse had happened and countries had started recognising Donald Trump as the winner of the last US election!
Caracas, Venezuela.— During the month of July and what has transcended of August, this country is placed -according to the company Kapersky- as the most attacked in South America. This is demonstrated by the data offered by the Minister of Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez, before the National Defense Council and the Council of State, which met jointly. Twenty-five State institutions were attacked, to which 40 are being investigated. Among them are companies, mayors' offices, governors' offices, private entities and media, such as the multimedia TeleSur, Radio Nacional de Venezuela and La Iguana TV. According to the Minister, 65 % of the attacks were focused on denial of service, which affected different state servers and international links, with which the Internet service is provided to the country. "Over the weekend we observed the hijacking of Cantv's IPs (Internet Protocol). The IPS are falsified and when the users want to have links with any of the services, they get a completely different portal and the servers collapse as a whole," she explained. Initially, the attacks per minute were 30 million. Gradually they increased. "We have had no rest during the cyberattacks, all state platforms have been attacked in multiple ways." Jiménez argued that those responsible for these acts have spent some 150 million dollars in their terrorist activity. The estimated cost of a large-scale cyberattack -capable of generating hundreds of gigabytes per second- could be between 500 and 1,000 dollars per hour, while that of a TBPs amounts to 1,000 to 5,000 dollars. We are certainly facing a multidimensional attack, which, with its various forms of aggression, seeks to destabilize the country and the State when it comes to procuring internal welfare and to make the population uncomfortable in order to exacerbate their spirits. Precisely in an interview, she said: "Recently, we were seeing that Conviasa's payroll was published. When they publish payrolls of users, military, officials, what they want is to generate terror, terrorism, uncertainty." Regarding the origin and direction of this digital war, she revealed that 98 % comes from farm services with sophisticated technology. And less than 2 %, from mobile technology platforms. High volume and diversity, sophistication and financing... "Who could have the capabilities to carry out an attack of this magnitude? A country like the United States, which has agencies, such as the nsa, with a budget to deal with attacks of high magnitude and duration," she remarked. It is not surprising, then, that Maduro has signed a Presidential Decree through which he ordered the immediate creation of the National Cybersecurity Council, to face cyberattacks on Venezuela, protect its technological systems and guarantee the liberation of all the country's command systems. In addition, on August 14th, in an ordinary session of the National Assembly, the Law for the Control, Regulation, Performance and Financing of Non-Governmental Organizations and Non-Profit Organizations was approved. While previously it was proposed the approval of a Law against fascism, neo-fascism and similar expressions. "The greatest vaccine against hate crimes and fascism propagated and stimulated by social networks, is timely, forceful and courageous justice," said the president, at the joint meeting. Could you explain why you think President Madura is a 'tyrant' and could you add who you believe belongs to 'the free world'? Could you clarify whether the 'free world' includes such capitalist countries as Turkmenistan, Somalia, Saudi Arabia and Cape Verde? Was Venezuela a member of the 'free world' before, when it was ruled by autocratic, bloodthirsty US puppet presidents? I'd also be interested to know whether you believe the United States to be a member of this 'free world'? That's the USA that murders foreign heads of state it doesn't like, invades, bombs and executes it's citizens on a regular basis. USA the famous torturer and assassin that abuses workers' and womens' rights. The society racked by racism and race riots. Was that the 'free world' you were thinking of? When you talk of "crossing" the democratically elected President of Venezuela "off the list", could you expand a little more on what you mean by this? Do you mean murder him? Do you believe the USA has a "list" of those foreign leaders it wishes to murder around the world and if so, could you confirm that this policy of assassination and murder is one that you fully support? Thanks in advance! While you're thinking about your answers, here are some photos of the Yankees being non-tyrannical and being especially 'free'.
Lies and Indecorum will never Undermine Cuba Integrity Once again, invention and delirium come to life in the construction of a matrix of lies against Cuba. The desperation to hide the failure of the coup plans in Venezuela has led a representative of the oligarchies and of the US geostrategic interests to try to deceive public opinion with false and malicious accusations, which aim to implicate the Cuban State in alleged practices of repression, espionage, persecution and torture in that country. Regarding the aforementioned promoter of lies, it has recently been revealed that she has received millions of dollars from a US lobbying group, with the purpose of financing her campaign and generating destabilization in Venezuela. It is NOT Cuba that interferes --and never will-- in the political and economic life of another country with sanctions, pressures and plans for regime change. It is NOT Cuba that is launching a media campaign to undermine Venezuelan institutions, putting the lives of thousands of people at risk and ignoring the will of the majority. As has been denounced by this Ministry in the statements of July 31, August 2 and 10: those who try to impose slander on Cuba are the same ones who support and practice interference, manipulation and encouragement of violence. The Venezuelan oligarchy is well aware that the Bolivarian Revolution put an end to decades of torture, forced disappearances and murders. On the other hand, the irresponsible falsifiers of reality ignore the gross practices of interference and repression of their mentors, the United States of America. The US role in supporting Operation Condor in Latin America and the Caribbean and training mercenaries and military coup forces is well known. Washington was responsible for the methods of torture and horror against detainees in Guantanamo, illegally occupied Cuban territory. Even in that same country, repressive practices against its own people continue to be recorded, such as the one that occurred a few weeks ago against university students who were demonstrating against the genocide in Gaza. Cuba emphatically rejects the falsehoods that are fabricated to reinforce the harassment policy of various US governments, which includes the tightening of the economic blockade and the irrational inclusion of Cuba in a unilateral list of States that supposedly sponsor terrorism, thereby causing severe damage to the Cuban population as a whole. The indecorum and lies that the right uses as a banner will never be able to undermine the integrity of the Cuban Revolution, nor will they be able to overcome the will of the people.
