Another absolute snore-fest, always felt West Ham were barely even trying, had we gone one up I imagine they'd of turned it up and put three past us.

An improvement on Burnley, but then again Burnley was ******* dire and one of the worst games of 'top-tier' football I've ever seen.

I think an element in the thinking of keeping King on the pitch is his defensive set piece role.

Sarr's return turning 0-0s into 1-0s would require us to regularly keep clean sheets...

An awful season is inevitably going to come to an even more painfully boring end under Hodgson than I ever imagined.

We've let in one deflected goal in two EPL games. The evidence so far suggests we will be able to keep clean sheets, but that it's the other end of the pitch that we should be concerned about.

This should also be easier if we have attacking players, like Sarr, who can make the opposition think twice about committing so many players forward.

Last night is coming back to haunt West Ham - as many suspected it might. Losing sponsors and under siege from public condemnation. Was just ridiculous that Moyes felt empowered to pick Zouma. Owners should have taken it out of his hands.

Also find it odd that the PL/FA are happy to fine/ban players for offensive tweets they sent when they were teenagers - but have done nothing regarding Zouma yet.

Knowing our luck he’ll have received a ban by their game against Newcastle next week which the Toon will then win. Horrible man but an excellent CB.

Personally I think Kayembe has looked like a really good pickup so far. I had my doubts about him when he joined (not as much as you of course) but I think his performances have been consistent and impressive and he appears to have been managing the step up very well. He is young, presumably on low wages and would likely stick around should/when we go down. Not fair at all to lump him in with the likes of Tufan. He hasn’t shone quite as bright as Kamara but has still looked the part.

Then who do you think should have been appointed instead of him to make the season less boring? And I can’t imagine how you think retaining Ranieri would have been less boring - losing most games while letting in 3 or 4 is no less tedious than picking up the odd draw or narrow win while letting in no more than 2 in a game.

  11. Burnsy

I’m not suggesting he’s awful - I’m suggesting a player of his profile and position on the pitch (as with Tufan) wasn’t needed as much as a midfielder who can play further up the pitch. Personally I think given we have Louza and Etebo, there was no need for Kayembe.

    At this point, no one.

The most boring and predictable part of it all is the near constant losses because the board have assembled a squad that isn't good enough and painfully deficient in certain areas. The only thing that's going to change under Hodgson we'll likely continue to get exactly the same sort of results, just with us playing slower, more conservative football, scoring less and conceding less, hence being even that little more boring than it already was.

The funny thing is that a by product of that way of playing may well be the likes of Dennis not being sold for as much as he could be in the summer, as well. Less attacking intent, less opportunities, less assists, less goals, less value at the end of the season.

Hit the post, forced a great save from Foster (would have been a definite goal with Bachers in sticks) whilst we had some nice possession in their 3rd but not much else.

Still, this is the yardstick by which our fans measure games. Barely any threat of us scoring but we deserved to win.

West Ham have now lost 3 sponsors, whilst others are reviewing their deals. And Zouma has lost his deal with Adidas.

Just a crazy decision to pick him last night - made worse by doubling-down on it and saying he played 'because he's one of their better players'. Just tone-deaf and inability to read the room.

Just a real shame we couldn't take 3 points on top.

Yep. I really hope West Ham are hit hard in the pocket by losing a lot of sponsorship.

On a human level, how on earth could Moyes pick him? It was obvious how this would play out. It shows he has no morality, nor do the owners for not stepping in, nor do the West Ham fans who applauded Zouma.

    Disgusting excuse of a club.

That’s a good point yes although (and more by luck than judgement) I don’t think a player of Ferguson’s profile would get much of a look in at CM in Roy’s system. Maybe would be one of the side options.

Do you think Roy will sacrifice playing Kucko or Cleverly who can both defend and tackle for Sarr on the wings?

Benching Sarr would be insanity, he could bench King and do Sarr & Dennis up top. Which I hadn’t thought about until trying to answer you and now I’m terrified that might be Roy’s plan.

I think the United and Everton game will be the last time this season we will ever witness how good our attack of Dennis, King, Sarr and Pedro can be.
I was really shocked Kalu wasn't brought on after West Ham scored us.

I think the fact Dennis came in for Pedro last night says it all really.

Probably see Sarr in for King or Dennis on Saturday.

I don't doubt the efforts of the players in our last two games. They seem to be more committed and I think they don't want us to get relegated. They want to win games, but with Kucko and Cleverley on the wings, we won't create chances or score goals, we won't win games. Besides, we are so predictable whenever we have those two midfielders playing on the wings.

Despicable and actually short sighted as sponsors will leave in droves ( some as stated already have) and it will cost WHU more.
Let's not kid ourselves it's money that matters as Randy said.

Comment on WO site talking about MOTD last night :

“And the most controversial incident in the whole match - the Watford penalty claim - not shown, nor discussed by the 'pundits'! BT's experts spent a chunk of the h/t break covering it - agreeing that the ref & VAR's decisions were baffling & that a penalty should have been awarded“

Getting confused with the Burnley game or have I missed something that hasn’t been mentioned by anyone else ?

A storm is coming West Hams way. Playing Zouma was a massive mistake. I have nothing personally against them and don't think the result would have changed if they'd had 10 men on the pitch, but it shows how utterly corrupt the sport is when they believe 3 points is more important than having morals.
