Hull have a better away record than home and a better away record than ours and have ae, even with an absolute minimal chance, still in the hunt for the last play off place.

They've only lost 2 of the last 12

At the very best we'll get a draw, but suspect we'll lose 1-2 or 1-3

This is the game, all players fit, learning all the time, edging closer to competency, Clevs getting his message a cross, any time soon we'll click....
    H/T 1-0 good half, missed 2 sitters.
They come at us second half,
    Fluke an equaliser 80th minute.
We go into a 550 formation.
    They score 88th minute.
We miss a pen in the 99th minute...

Wonder what the odds are for that? Might be worth a punt, this is Watford after all.

Proper RB at least. Hopefully Andrews can have a decent game today. Ngakia on the bench to come on second half then get injured as he runs onto the pitch.

I reckon Ngakia won't even last that long. I can see him pulling a muscle taking off his track suit.

My dad’s first match today for 20 years so my sister and I have treated him to some hospitality at The View. Tommy Smith talking at the moment about the impact Cleverley has had since his arrival. Being very positive but I guess you would expect that. Also, Aidy Boothroyd is here as a guest too.

BBC called the result early. You can all go home.

And in the other photo, I love the way the floodlights cast the musical notes for Eltons "your song". Nice touch from the club

Drifted in and out of a stream but what I mostly saw was laughable finishing all round.

Bachmann saved us in the end .

Our finishing was poor though too .

    Fussy ref

Asprilla was probably our best player attack wise .

Defence pretty ok - the central ones anyway .

If we're not going to do anything ourselves, we may as well ruin a few teams' seasons while we are at it. Maybe just shaded it in the second half, but Bachmann definitely the busier keeper, one of his best games for us

Not absolutely terrible. But not very good either.

The home form is genuinely laughable however.

Every single scout the club has working for them should be set one singular aim - go and find a good, reliable, striker that we can afford and don’t come back with anything less.

Get one of those and we may not even get any higher in the league - but at least the games would be fun to watch with us scoring a few goals.

Lewis had a really good start, two good balls that the strikers perhaps could have done better with, but then disappeared. Good to see Sema back, he looked as dangerous as ever

Was actually an entertaining game considering it was 0-0. Hull are a decent side in this division so overall a draw is a positive result and step in the right direction. Baachman was very good and we would have lost without hos shot stopping, his distribution is still sometimes poor but we all know that. An extra bonus point for stopping Tufan scoring and having to listen to the Hill fans chant about that.

I'll give Rajovic some credit, he did some good work to win the free kick, (and his effort wasn't bad), and he flicked the ball on well for Asprilla's chance at the death, but there were two times a ball came in and he was looking in the wrong direction

Boring as heck again at home. Decent save from Tufat by Bachmann for the pen but poor from Hoedt to begin with. First half they bossed it but second half we got our game on and actually tried to win it. Martins fluffed the big chance towards the end and Bachmann saved us a few times, even right after the Martins miss. Another clean sheet is nice, but still no home win since November 2023 and we have one game left to rectify that, against a Sunderland side with nothing to play for as well.

Our goal scoring ability in front of our own fans' is really poor. Could be nerves or something I do not know, but we need to improve our threat especially going into next season where we are touted by a fair few to struggle. MotM was probably Bachamann for keeping them out as we barely laid a glove on them. Not much else to say apart from the fact we still managed to pick up four bookings in a stalemate of a contest. Referee was equally as poor, he looked like a Hull player anyway.

Oh and if somebody can calculate where in the Universe Asprilla's shot is, can you contact NASA?

A familiar story of late. Not the worst point, but all these draws are getting a bit tedious.

We didn't play terribly, though the most disappointing thing about today was how we started the game again. It's another game where we were too negative at the start and too happy to keep passing the ball backwards. I'm sure many were hoping this would have changed a bit more after Ismael left. Hull actually approached the game very well and seemed well drilled on their shape. This meant that basically whenever our keeper had the ball we struggled to even reach the centre circle, whereas when Hull's keeper had the ball they often found a way to get out and in to our final third.

Our poor start to the game almost cost us with Hull winning a penalty from a move which started in their backline and ended up with our defence exposed against Carvalho and Hoedt stupidly dangling a leg. Thankfully for us Tufan doesn't seem to enjoy playing at The Vic. Good save by Bachmann though still, who was our MotM.

Hoedt himself had a bit of a stinker really, and was very lucky not to get a second yellow right at the end. Another PotS contender in Kayembe also looked sluggish and not really up to it today. With the way Hull were so compact in the midfield we missed either TDB or Chak's ability to wriggle out of tight spaces. Porteous was also a bit erratic today, and got a stupid booking for a tackle which seemed to be him trying to avoid or cover for the embarrassment of having been outpaced by Tufan.

The penalty miss did galvanise us a bit, but again it wasn't until the second half that we really gained some decent attacking momentum, but even then we made lots of poor decisions in the final third. Dennis also had a stinker today. Asprilla was wasteful. Martins missed a great chance.

Sema was a positive today when he came on and reminded us what we've been missing when he's been out the side.

Hull were a decent side and had the two best players on the pitch in Philogene and Carvalho. They also managed to buy loads of cheap free-kicks from the ref with their players throwing themselves to the ground. As with the Preston game though I'm sure their fans will be annoyed they didn't go more for a win in the second half.

Cleverley has us playing fairly well, but unspectacularly. The biggest concern for me at the moment is still how poorly and conservatively we seem to be starting games; it's not as if it seems to prevent us from going behind first. Whoever is in charge next season needs to rectify this.

I actually don’t agree with the comments saying how boring the match was. I quite enjoyed it and am enjoying watching this side more post Cleverley as they seem to have more desire and drive. We’re just completely toothless in the final third.
We were the better side in the second half but it’s true that Bachmann had more to do.
I would be pissed off if I was a Hull fan. They had far more to play for and seemed happy to play for a draw - don’t understand why they didn’t really go for it in the last 10 mins.
Tommy Smith here now and about to give his opinion…

Nothing particularly illuminating from Tommy Smith although he did say he thought Bachmann was our best player today

Starting games slowly has been our handicap all season long. Other than a few games we have been like snails out of the blocks giving the opposition time to setup and counter almost everything we do. We did it under Val for most games and the cliche' of "baiting out the opposition" is not going to work in a division as erratic as the Championship is. Start on the front foot and take the game to them. Let them know your there to win the game from the off. Passing it around the back again like scared sheep is something I thought we had gotten out of our systems under Clev. Shame to see it's worked back in.
