With Gino in charge nothing will change.

What absolute nonsense, some of you are far too entrenched in your position to see what is being said sometimes.

Gosling says “In those last three games you had people on the pitch that cared about Watford and wanted to play with a bit of pride. Before that you had people who didn’t really want to go out there and run around.”

Between the Palace and Everton matches we made seven changes to the starting eleven. Foster, Samir, Sissoko and Kayembe were the only ones who started both.

    The other changes were:
    Kiko to Ngakia
    Cathcart to Kabasele
Kamara to Masina (Kamara was suspended)
    Cleverly to Gosling
    Sarr to Kalu
    King to JP
    Dennis to Sema

For all their (many) faults Cleverly and Cathcart have never seemed to have a bad attitude, and Kamara was unavailable. Not necessarily pointing the finger at the others, but it is interesting that by implication Gosling's accusations appear to be aimed largely at players still at the club.

We spent £12m on agent fees in one season, which is the most outside of the top 6, the argument that if it wasn’t Mogi it would be someone else is the same argument as the “well we could have Bassini in charge” argument. We have a crook that we’re siphoning money off to, who is facing criminal charges and we repeatedly buy rubbish, overpriced players from. The alternative doesn’t have to be more of the same.

Last season was one I would like to forget. I remember a thread about it being the worst ever and I vehemently denied this as had been through worse at the time but now in hindsight and with what came out today I think I can honestly say there has never been a worse season. I thought we treated Gosling badly and he should have been in the squad instead of the fat waste of time who is now at Hull. I think he is good enough for this level. Cleverly just seems a bit too injury prone and Cathcart I can't make my mind up on. None will be good enough certainly if we went up.

Only thing I would say is they all like Edwards at the moment but what if things start to go wrong results wise?

Or is Gosling just talking about his own views in that regard...

Having two over 70s was never going to work with a a squad of modern day footballers who clearly weren't in it together like Leicester and Palace were when Ranieri and Hodgson managed them and even that ended on a sour note for the former.

First of all I want to say I am no mogi fan. This is not a defense of him, but for me the difference is that Owners can be good or bad with different intentions. All agents are money grabbing ****s.. Some get caught, some don't. The fact that Mogi is facing charges is neither here nor there for me. They are all guilty.

This argument is really nothing to do with agents and all to do with our owners and how they manage Watford, how Watford are treated in there network of footballing clubs / interests and the costs related to that.

Personally, I look at what they have achieved in the whole of the last 10 years and overall, weighing the good against the bad, I am happy. IMO,After SEJ, they are the 2nd best owners we have had. I also think, after the low of last year, that the future is bright under the new manager and direction the club is taking.

But if I hated Gino and wanted him out of the club I guess would use the Mogi stick, so I understand your point

Give it another season, I see potential for a reversal of fortunes. if this season is a **** show I will most likely be with you!

I mean that's kinda the point, not all agents are potentially guilty of fraud and money laundering though are they?

Oh, there will be those who just will not believe it.

To be honest, l am not sure if Gosling has dug himself a deep hole. Is it wise to aim criticism at players still at the club? Perhaps this is why he has failed to command a place under his previous Managers.
Credit to him for speaking out as last season was a complete and total disaster.
I still think we need 4 or 5 more players.
Cleverley, Cathcart, WTE, Kayembe and Ngakia should be nowhere near the starting XI. Moving them on would free up spaces.
Bachmann and Okoye are both goal line merchants and flappers. What are our options? Hamer is not exactly first choice.
Ngakia is no wing back, Edwards favoured style. He is a poor full back at best.
I understand that we are looking at other players for that spot.

Well the club would have had someone in the interview so if they felt Gosling was going too far in criticism of the current squad sure they could have stopped him.

Yep, it's just a bit of PR for the fans. The bloke from the Observer confirmed it was him, the player and someone from the club. Journalist and Gosling just pawns in the game of fluff incase things go badly.

I really don’t understand your point, your logic seems to be that if we hired Prince Andrew to manage the woman’s team that would be fine because you judge the 10 years Gino has owned the club as a success overall?

Also since when was being money grabbing illegal, presumably you think all estate agents and stock brokers are as bad as each other and just criminals that haven’t been caught?

'All agents are just as bad as each other' is essentially exactly the same argument as the hoary old 'all politicians are the same, can't trust any of em' bollox that's experiencing a particular surge in popularity right now as it helps usher in the idiocracy by muddying the water to the point that it prevents any of those politicians who are actually genuinely undeserving of trust and/or carrying out criminal/unconstitutional acts from being held accountable, or even publicly judged for said acts.

No, it's not. Football agents and politicians are not the same.

Well, congrats for recognising that basic fact, I guess, but it's not what I said, so largely not that relevant.

Have you actually read their post though? It’s basically saying Mogi can do what he wants because the Pozzos have done ok over 10 years and all agents are corrupt anyway so Mogi can do what he wants even more. An extremely bizarre take I think even you’d struggle to agree with, if you actually read it.

Has he been found guilty of anything or do we have to view them as serious allegations for now ?

He’s basically saying the Pozzos have been the second most successful owner in our history. They use Mogi as an agent. If he’s a dodgy money grabbing leech then “so what” because all agents are. He’s not said “ it would be fine for Gino to hire Prince Andrew to manage the ladies team” which you’ve said is the same as accepting that Mogi is his agent of choice. Not saying I agree 100% with him but your analogy is very different to what he’s said :)

In this weeks Pod we discuss how the damning interview in the Watford Observer proves that the blame lies squarely at the feet of Claudio Ranieri and nobody else in senior positions at the club. Have a listen.

    Another great interview by Frenchy.

The club are saying all the right things to start getting fans believing again. Monday they need to show it and I believe they will. There seems to be a real unity amongst the staff and players now. Edwards has got them loving football again and I do think we will see it all left the pitch on Monday. That’s all I care about. I want us to win, but if we lose, as long as we do so fighting for every ball, playing with heart, passion, commitment and a no quit attitude, I will be happy.

I think Edwards has brought in the mindset of playing with pride while wearing the shirt. Bring on Monday.

Twitter thought controllers are picking up Andrew for daring to publish any negativity. :)

“I fail to see how taking over the coals of last season is helpful. We need to start this season positive in every respect”.

Only 100% positive things allowed from the media please about the regime.
