I'll disagree with Elliot as 3rd choice being a bad thing. It's better to have a competent 3rd choice who won't feature much but can pass on his experience to the younger keepers as a de facto coach and allow younger keepers like Dahlberg to then go out on loan and develop in meaningful game time. He won't rock the boat asking for game time and won't block a younger goalkeeper's development as they would be 2nd choice fighting for 1st choice if they were good enough anyway but stays fit and can do a job if needs must. It's important they embed themselves within the team and keep morale up where they can. Re: Foster, Deeney, Murray etc I agree a lot more.

Yeah, I thought the advice was different for the two systems. I might be wrong though. Either way, we're two months into the season now and there's no excuse for the debacle yesterday, whether it's a failing in technology or communication to fans.
Really no need, it's clear as day that Foster gave him the tickets - not only does the bloke say so when trying to convince the stewards not to throw them out, Foster's mate who co-hosts his podcast is stood there trying to plead their case as they were "guests". Foster isn't friends with these people, they've all got much bigger followings on YouTube/Instagram than him and he is offering them free tickets to drive engagement with his channel in return. Frankly, it's pathetic.

Definitely. I don't imagine he would have done this in his first spell with us. The fact he's older makes it worse, if anything.

Foster gives two tickets out, one to his podcast co presenter and one to a "celebrity" who are either a fan of WFC or the oppositon and they have a fan cam thing now as he cant stick his GoPro in the net any more. Cant wait to watch the next video of his, you can bet the fan cam footage wont get shown. He also goes through his fantasy football team too, I wonder if that will get shown now after the backlash? I think Foster wants to become one of the Sidemen or something. He will never be Tay Zonday though.
I haven't read much of this thread, but I'm disappointed not to have seen any mention of Ngakia. I thought he was pretty ordinary last season but much improved this time and excellent in his cameo yesterday. The one bright spot from the Watford viewpoint.
Team Ngakia welcomes you. I think people forget he's still young and has made less than 40 senior appearances in his career. He's great and is only going to get better the more minutes he plays. For that reason I expect the club to sell him to Swansea for 250k in the summer.

I've read all of yesterday's comments and some of today's, and the tone of what I've read and the replies to earlier comments suggest that Ngakia hasn't been mentioned, but I might have been wrong. Was I?
There are over 20 comments in this thread with him mentioned in one way or another, multiple of which are remarking on his performance post-match one way or the other. But either way, it's a slightly strange/funny position to adopt, to be honest.

Louza seems to me (on admittedly a VERY small sample size) to be better as an 8 or a 9. Sissoko defintely prefers the more advanced or box-to-box role, but TBH, he seems to be somewhat adept at breaking uo play and tracking pacy runners through the middle, so having him at the 6 might be the best option. This could/might enable one of the others (Kucka, Tufan, Louza) to play a little more advanced. They all seem a bit better at getting their heads up and finding someone, although none have Sissoko's ability to run at people.
We could have put out a better, more balanced side for sure. Pedro, Ngaika and Cleverley could have started. A 4-4-2 with Pedro just behind Dennis, both of them tasked with harassing the Liverpool midfield, two banks of four squeezing out the space, would have been miles better. Still would have lost, but played much better.
Nope. He was crap vs Stoke and rightly on the bench in the PL. Also surprising how a few people can be so pleased with his performance when one of the very few things he did was lose Firmino for Pool's last goal.
