Because Kabasele had a goal disallowed I guess but hate thinking like that.

Having the view that one incident would have meant a certain scoreline - unless it's basically in the last minute.

For all we know Leeds might have got a 2nd goal (or we'd probably give them one) !

Exactly. We got battered all game, they probably would have scored regardless given there was about 25 minutes left

If I remember rightly they could have had a penalty for a foul on James anyway..

Putting scorlines to one side Leeds and Newcastle under Xisco were two of our worst performances of the season. Brighton and Wolves weren’t far behind. The Newcastle one was the absolute pits, we were obviously awful yesterday and for the Norwich game, but we weren’t actually dominated for 90 minutes like Newcastle dominated us at home as one of the worst sides in the league at the time, they should’ve been about 5-0 up at half time.

Xisco was out of his depth and didn’t have a clue how to set a team up tactically to deal with any PL opposition he faced. Talking about whether we should’ve kept him on is as pointless as saying we should never have sacked Dyche. It’s only with the benefit of hindsight anyone can say that, with Gino as our owner how many times do you think Xisco would’ve been sacked if he wasn’t sacked after Leeds? Gino doesn’t have the benefit of hindsight either, and under Gino you don’t get to have a bad run and come out the other side.

Maybe from playing point of view, but not in terms of the financial side!

Pozbury have now become the epitomy of what my tutoring colleague calls "shoppers".
Tennis parents who to quote Sellers "hawk their brat around" every known coach hoping to be told that "yes, they will be a top 100 player, it's only a matter of time".
I can't fathom how they have made so many calamitous errors and then repeated them add nauseum.
Duxbury is the Watford Gavin Williamson. He must have something monumental on Pozzo.

I think RC was sitting next to me at La Traviata last night. Came in after the overture and left at the first interval. Given that we were in the Noel Gordon Tier, that's an expensive 45 minutes or so!

Sarr was the worst player on the pitch. I mean that literally. He hid and did very little, and what he did do invariably failed ignominiously. When he let his one big chance roll across him so that it was blazed high and wide into the Rookery I said to my daughters "That's another £10,000,000 off his sell-on". It takes a powerful act of imagination to think we are going to get our money back on him. (Unless it's a stitch-up, where he has already agreed to join Newcastle).
Dennis actually was (a little) better than that. And he had the genuine excuse that he joined the game when it had already more or less gone down the tubes.

All this arguing and finger pointing about whether Munoz would have been better or worse ignores two important points. The squad was still **** and generally the ones in the Munoz camp are also in the Pozzo camp and he was the one who sacked him. That whole cognitive dissonance thing again.

Also, would we have got Kamara without Ranieri? It was reported that he was adamant that we got a new left back.

We did get battered all game, yet it still should have been 1-1 with not that long left. For all Leeds dominated they didn't do very much in front of goal, unlike yesterday.

Either way it would have been a much closer result with more chance of a point than what we experienced yesterday.

The Brighton away performance was ******* hilarious. I've never seen a head coach so out of his depth, Munoz had absolutely no idea how to play against Potter.

kucka bawled out Sarr immediately before the move and pass that put Sarr in on that goal chance. Sarr has argued back so was still angry (and ******* petulant) as he took the shot.

clearly does not give a fig except for himself. All the strikers except Cucho think only of themselves and clearly are jealous of any success and glory the others may get.

so ALL season they’ve not been passing to each other and taking shots for themselves and not celebrating certain goals their “rival” scores.

Dennis and Sarr , the most guilty. King got cheesed off with it months ago, you could see it in him and the rows he’s had with Pedro.

The only reason we got that draw against a dreadful Newcastle was because they missed at least 4 sitters in the first half alone. That could, in all honesty, have ended up as a 0-5 hammering. It seriously looked as if Xisco remembered the words of his games master at primary school. 'OK, boys, just go out and have some fun.'

The incorrectly disallowed equaliser? We were crap that day, but to be fair, so were Leeds and a draw would not have been unfair.

Xisco was a crap manager. I can't see what some fans see in him. He's maybe even the worst of the three.

Saying we would have drew against Leeds had Kabasele's goal not been disallowed is pointless. We can than also say we would have drew against Leicester and Brentford had WTE not been brainless in those matches.

I just think it's not worth arguing over things like that. All our managers were horrible overall and we would have been in a very simillar situation had we not sacked Xisco or Ranieri. Our players are just not preforming well this season.

Precisely, unfortunately there is always a tendency on this forum for some to get bogged down in a binary choice as if no other alternatives are ever available, the answer can very often and very simply be that none of them were the right choice.

Unless the Pozzos bet £252m on us being relegated. What were the odds? We'll be coining it in.

Sometimes it’s hard to fathom the logic, or lack of, from our owners.

When we were promoted last time, they made big calls and decisions...and generally got them right.

They decided the coach who took us up wasn’t right for the PL and that they could get better and more experience. They took the almost unheard of step of replacing a Head Coach after promotion. They then looked at the imbalance of the squad and bought in generally decent replacements where they were actually needed. Two experienced midfielders (both played PL before), an experienced international centre half etc. Result..we stayed up comfortably.

Fast forward five years and we do the complete opposite. We hold on to a novice coach who most people felt wouldn’t be experienced enough for the PL. We fail to strengthen our defence. We try to boost our attack by signing a guy who failed to score at all last season and another who I think only got 2-3 goals for a Championship team. We sign ageing midfielders who’ve never kicked a ball in the PL before, while (on the surface) not doing enough to hold on to the quality we did have in those positions.

In other words, everything we seemed to do right last time we went up, we’ve now done so horribly wrong this time. And got our just rewards.

    Lessons learned my arse.

I just shrug my shoulders at the results now. The game has got progressively less enjoyable the last 5 years, and our horrendous performances in the last 3 have just exacerbated my dislike for football

Exactly this. I'm not sure this season could have gone much worse in terms of planning and execution.

We will now finish 20th because Norwich have players that want to play for them and a stable managerial appointment.

Thing is, money being tight is offered as an excuse, yet we've wasted money on Tufan alleged 2m loan fee plus wages), Kucka (we now have to sign him permanently apparently), Kayembe, Kalu, Rose, Okoya, Fletcher (wages)

We utterly fluttered away what little we had on absolute wastes. Louza is one of our better players at the minute so giving him the benefit of the doubt, Dennis cost money but scored some goals, king was free but has proven useless, Sissoko seemed a reasonable gamble

And yet when Hodgson said something along the lines of “I keep being told these are good strikers, time they prove it” a number of people got upset at that.

IIRC, you are leaving out a significant part of the context of his statement, which was what actually concerned the majority of people, though, to be fair.

I can’t remember the whole thing. Whatever he says it seems to rile some of our fan base one way or another. Whatever the context, calling out keepers for not making saves and strikers for not scoring goals is fine by me.

It was that he said it wasn't possible to coach them to attack better, which is a laughable and concerning statement from the head coach of a Premier League football club.

Obviously, like you, I don't have a problem with bad/underperforming players being called out, but in this case it told as much or more about Roy as it did the players in question.

I don’t think he’s been much good, but he’s the third head coach of the season and this shower of players still can’t be assed.
