Maybe says a lot about our squad and players mentality that we can give top teams good games and even beat them but lose meekly v sides at the bottom even after going ahead at home.

No it doesn't. We caught and beat Burnley early on at home when they were still finding their feet. Kompany was getting his tactics and organisation imposed on his group and they had, by their later standards, a 'slowish' start before he could get them playing as he wanted. The result was great but even before Kamara's deserved red card we were easily 2nd best that night. Just looked it up to remind myself; we had 36% possession, 5 shots and 1 on target to their 64%, 11 shots and 4 on target. We had been battered by WBA 4 days earlier and despite that, should have won had Sarr remembered how to take a penalty. We then moved moved to a series of woeful draws, the relatively undeserved late victory over Boro and the abject performance at Blackburn which certainly matched a lot of our later disgraceful capitulations and unacceptable performances under Bilic and Wilder.

I did acknowledge in my original post that my view on Edwards would not be universally held. I was at that Blackburn game and the team and Edwards - who came across to apologise - was roundly booed for the battering we took that night and the lack of game management; substitution inertia had set in. The writing was on the wall for him and I wasn't surprised it ended for Edwards when it did. Results can sometimes hide all manner of problems and the early months of this season was a good example in my view. Bilic's sacking was more of a surprise to me and although results had partially tailed off (disagree that we were back to a fully fit squad by the way), I don't think the alarm bells were clanging in the way they were for Edwards earlier. Opinions differ.

The constant purchase of the next wonderkid maybe contributing to the lack of team play .
These players may have been indulged at previous clubs and told not to worry about defensive
stuff and just to look for and to get on the ball . 1 or 2 in a squad is ok . 6 7 or 8 then becomes a problem.
Maybe this is why we had a CM at right wing etc etc
    Just thinking out aloud !

So let me get this right, Edward’s wins don’t count because they happened at the start of the season, but the draws and losses (just the two out of 10) absolutely do count? The poor bloke never stood a chance did he really.

Bilic deservedly got the sack after our results got worse against mostly poor teams with all our supposedly better players back. I did ask you why else you think he got the sack, I mean it wasn’t because he was doing well was it? He had 26 games, was allowed to ride out the injury period, but ultimately took us to the exact same position as Edwards left us in, but it was somehow a surprise to you and he did much better?

Sorry in my opinion your 'summary' merely misrepresents my view. I've described my perspective in some detail and the basis of how I formed it. You don't buy it, that's fair enough, indeed I suggested in my original post that my view was likely to be divide opinions. That's your prerogative, which I understand. As is mine in deciding not to try again.
