It sounds like he’s not leaving but although I’m fond of him I don’t think a loan, ideally with a recall option, would be the end of the world. We’ve got more strikers than we need and it’s hard to justify both Bayo and Raj on the bench assuming Jebbison starts. Bayo staying at Udinese probably made more sense but if Raj got more minutes at Millwall and more goals and experience it might have had benefits.

Midfielder was Hector Kyprianou from P’boro. Found out late this evening but doesn’t seem like it went as far as we hoped. But we tried, genuinely. But P’boro stuck to their guns (as would have thought would be obvious) for a player they recently made captain. A good target for sure - but very badly timed IMO. We went for him late in a previous window and got the same result. Not sure what we thought would change this time around. I know this whole negotiation went on over the last few days (I just didn’t know the name of the player) so it wasn’t us slamming in a bid on deadline day knowing it wouldn’t go through. But think the longer it went on, knowing their chairman, the parameters would have kept moving so he could protect his interest. Which is fair. Should have done early in the window - but with what money at that stage?? But they did try and the effort was there as far as I’m told. (But probably wasted effort from the start).

Honestly couldn’t tell you. I’ve heard so many things today and I’ve put almost all of them to people I know and had many answers back. I’ve given as many honest answers as I can. Was told ‘a midfielder’ was at London Colney at one point - and then it was backed up. But I never had it confirmed for sure by the source I know best. But I don’t know how these things work to be honest. I know within a high degree of probability that Kyprianou was the target. I can’t stress enough, I don’t know any other details.

Hopefully he doesn’t sign a new deal after they refused to let him join us and we get him on a free in 6 months. If he’s smart he doesn’t tie himself down to a club that will hold him at ransom.

While discussing our numbers in midfield, we forget we do actually have another player in our current starting eleven who isn’t a midfielder but who played a few matches there last season! But it wasn’t a success, so let’s hope that doesn’t become an option should injuries bite.
I wonder if we will make a move for any of the CM’s that are currently available on a free. There’s actually a couple of decent options that could do a job for us for 1-2 seasons.
Personally I would make Stuart Armstrong the number 1 pick. He’s 32 but knows the league, has the right mentality, versatile and just a massive ******* on the pitch. On top of that, he always played well against us.
