I do like a a Brough bike. It seems the hierarchy are intent on lining the dressing room with turds this season.
A midfielder who scores goals and takes free kicks (well)? Sounds like a good option.. And been in trouble before too with the law.
On a free it really is. In his prime, knows the league, works hard and battles. More importantly he’s a leader, which is something we don’t have. Decent passer, chips in with the odd goal. @reids whats his pressing numbers like? When I’ve watched him, he always appears to chase everything, but haven’t watched him ton to say so conclusively. Aslong as we don’t pay him stupid wages like £50k p/w, then would be a good signing.
What a pointless signing this would be. Not an upgrade on anything we have, doesn’t really do anything, scored in a huge total of 5 games last season (non penalty that is). Another average player who’d command a good wage. Welcome to Watford
not an upgrade on anything we have? he is better than any of the other midfielders we have on our books at the moment other than Louza. Sissoko won’t be here next season, Cleverley is too old to be an integral part of a promotion side, Kayembe looks like a dud, Dele-Bashiru didn’t exactly rip it up at Reading, Kucka is going home and Gosling is not going to be able to start 46 games. But you still think that Derbys best player/captain and one of the better midfielders in the championship doesn’t add anything to the squad? Even if he were the worst footballer in the league he still adds more in leadership than any of our other players.
I feel some might be a bit disappointed by the signings we could make if they are expecting high quality Championship/proven Premier league players but we'll see.
Non-existent (or it could be that he presses harmlessly and they've moved the ball on before he gets anywhere near which wouldn't flag in the stats afaik)
This is all well and good.. but Lawrence isn’t a midfielder, he’s a winger/second striker. He also isn’t their best player
I liked Lady Chatterley and Odour of Chrysanthemums. Looking forward to reading more of his work when he arrives. Quite a youngster for us? Can only be 150 ish now?
I didn't watch every Derby game last season but the ones I did he definitely was. He'd be a very good signing imho.
If we do a 3-4-1-2 then as Roberto Edwards did at FGR - Where would he fit, behind the front 2 perhaps?
If we really are looking at him, in an Edwards system, assume it’s going to be that CAM role. Not his natural position, but something I can see him being good at. Although I would have rathered Swift, if we’re to believe that Edwards is getting a say in the transfer dealings, then you’ve got to assume he sees something in Lawrence he likes.
Yeah as a 10 I’d say. But he doesn’t press at all, and that’s the main identity of an Edwards team without the ball
One of those players that will score the odd stunner and everyone thinks he's quality. Average player, should be no more than a squad player if we sign him.

" Posted 4 hours ago Best going to a club oversees where he can't get points on his UK driving licence" Good to see we're replacing Foster.
He got done for drink driving after a night out with his team-mates. https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...ence-mason-bennett-plead-guilty-drink-driving
'Leadership' seems to have replaced 'Pashun!' or 'knows the league' as the No.1 magic bullet for the appraisal of every prospective signing. Soon, we'll have so many leaders in the team we'll be able to run our own series of 'The Apprentice'
