Feel for him massively on a human level, must be so horrible to be so close yet so far again. Removing emotion though, absolutely has to be released this season or renegotiated to some pay as you play, club ambassador type role. No doubting his value for Trust & Community work but from a playing perspective, I don’t think he’s worth the hassle his unavailability and injury management probably brings anymore.

Sounds good for Tom - he can report back to Gosser and Kalu on what it’s like - crikey he could even afford to buy them one each as well and if he has a testimonial he can use that money to furnish the flats as well and still keeping a few mill for himself.

Does the article explicitly state they are discussing a contract extension? The tweet itself is slightly ambiguous whether it means extension or termination similar to Gosling. Perhaps wishful thinking on my part. It would be madness to extend Cleverley's contract.

Of all the bizarre, insane sh*t this head case of a club has done in the past few years, this might actually top the lot. They're seriously looking to extend the contract of an unbelievably injury prone, unreliable, nigh on 34 year old who's legs had completely gone 18 months ago, never mind another 6-12 months from now. Utter, utter lunacy.
If anyone was wondering which way the club is heading and the what the quality of our squad will be next season then wonder no more.
That is a fans twitter page as talked about in the Dan Gosling page. Some seemed to be keen for him to stay - probably because the guy had a few good games at full back. But in reality a long term injury is going to set him back a lot.

He was on the same flight as me today on his way back from his mates wedding. Said he has not been able to recover from a torn thigh muscle and Watford are not renewing his contract. He has completed some coaching badges and been offered something with our U21’s. Really nice chap.
Ha! Yes, maybe a bit sooner. I got the impression he’d like to play on if he can get himself fit (and if someone is willing to take him on)
He would be a strong asset on the coaching side. A great guy and it’s sad he’s had to retire, but that moment comes to us all.
I'd be very happy with Cleverley in a coaching capacity. Great character but clear his legs has gone.
He did two really good things I can remember for now anyway. 1. Scored the winner against Burnley. 2. Got that moran Harry Maguire sent off in the 4-1 trouncing of Oli's boys.
