Villa? Not at all, they fully deserved the win!

Yeah, actually looking back at the stats Man Utd had loads of shots as you'd expect to have at home, but they only managed 4 shots on target against Villa's 3 despite having 50% more possession.

This was the reason we sacked Mazzarri who retrospectively was the best manager we’ve had

This is my ‘hot take’ an opinion I’ve crafted with much care, thought and consideration and not one I’ve seen expressed by anyone else ever.

Burnley are ******* vile. Their fans are scum and the players and manager are cheats.

Feel free to copy me and use that one at the pub tonight, you’ll impress your friends with your knowledge.

Always one of the most frustrating teams to watch your side play against.

Walter had next to no English at all didn't he? I remember the Pozzos tried to make him give an interview in English, but it just wasn't happening lol

Ooooh I’m frothing. I could crush a grape.

Newcastle ain’t much different to be fair, although they’re generally more inept.

True - mind you 6 points won’t be enough for them.

Brentford 1-0 up, they didn't sign a load of players, how are they looking so much more Premier League ready than us?

Probably like we beat Liverpool in our first season and no doubt Europe will be mentioned !

Good header from Salah to level. Pretty even but Liverpool have had more chances so I expect them to win but Brentford seem hard to predict.

Ugh, I despise seeing Brentford be this seasons Leeds, doing well and getting relentlessly rimmed for being "brave".

Burnley, Stoke under Mark Hughes, and actually would almost throw Bruce’s Newcastle of today into the same bracket.

Ridiculous display time wasting. Almiron (I think) clutching his head every time he had any contact. Even if it was a pull of his shirt the hands went to the face. Delighted they didn’t escape with three points, even if they had enough chances to win multiple games of football!

Got to hand it to Brentford, they never give up. I would love for us to play anything close to this in our tough games after Leeds. Cannot see it. Still time for a winner and a seventh goal - crazy game.

In the end, I was pleased they only took a point! Confident we finish ahead of Norwich, but after today I'm not overly confident of finishing ahead of anyone else

I like what Brentford have done, and if we weren't both ostensibly fighting for the same goal I'd want them to do well, but lol, what are they supposed to do, just roll over?

It just shows how ludicrous Farke’s comments last week were. If that had been Norwich they would have thrown in the towel before kick-off because they hadn’t ‘budgeted’ to get any points from Liverpool. You have to play each game as it comes along because you never know what can happen - even against the best teams.

I agree, but that doesn't tend to apply when Watford face Man City. We generally hand them the towel, bend over an look forward to a good old whipping with the corner edges.

The stats I saw said Chelski had zero shots, on or off target. Is that correct? Surprising if true.

Very negative set up and display according to 5live/Talksport.

Almost played like the away side but I presume it was the just the same tactics than worked against Man City last season but didn't this?

Or probably because I swapped Jesus and Dias for Lukaku and Alonso!

    :oops::mad:

I see Man U felt Villa's goal should have been chalked off but then they got a penalty and missed it so not feeling sorry for them.

They missed Mount, but yes, a very disappointing display, I'm sure we'll even manage a token shot on target against them!

Well according to the BBC they had five shots, none on target. Bournemouth had zero shots on and off target and 18% possession against Man City in a league game in March 2019.

  26. Few Watford fans cheering Brentford on in the pub earlier. As much as anyone loves the underdog, surely as relegation rivals we should be hoping they lose?!

  27. Tonight he still said "we are still only 3 points behind what we budgeted for". So still only think the game vs us was the only winnable game so far.

Very early days still but one defeat and only five goals conceded in a toughish start doesn't suggest Brentford are relegation candidates, much though we'd like it to be the case.

It was Livescore that said they had zero on or off target (4 blocked). I'm inclined to believe the BBC stats, zero seems ridiculous.

As much as I don't think Brentford will be in too much trouble this season, we need all the relegation rivals we can get! Norwich look absolutely doomed, Newcastle will be down there (although to get outplayed for the most part against them, at home, was not a good sign), Burnley perhaps, Southampton if I'm scraping the barrel, but I'm really struggling to see anyone outside of those teams in a scrap this season!

Think BT said they had none on target, certainly don't remember Ederson making a save

As I said the other day, it just gives his players an excuse to accept automatic defeat in a significant proportion of their games.

Right now to stay up we are relying on Dyche failing at being Dyche and Bruce@newcastle failing at being Bruce@newcastle. For both to happen in the same season is a big ask.

Newcastle will be grim this season, if we have anything about us we'll finish ahead of them (big words considering they just battered us lol), though I think this squad will have to play very well to finish ahead of anyone else other than Norwich

A few injuries to key players and Brentford will soon slide down the table.
