Utter horsesh1t from Duxbury during a season when he backed Deeneyball and came very close to sabotaging our promotion and our finances. Claiming we are an established premier league club when we were in the Championship is for the birds really. He also claimed our promotion was HIS biggest achievement. You really couldn't make this sh1t up!

Mate, I literally posted this for you about 3 messages up. It's right after the comment you just replied to. Unless that means I'm just discovering that the block function is weird, here

Yes i used all of my incredible technical skills to copy and paste it from your post. Thanks for sharing that. I'm tired of being force fed Scott's fake spin. When u see it in the cold light of day it's farcical really. We need a CEO who's honest with the fans.

I don't know why they are bothering. They are as good as down along with us and Norwich.

I see Newcastle have reached the desperation stage and are throwing money at unrealistic targets.

They need to do some proper non bad business soon, with Wilson out they’re really only net one player up with Trippier as things stand.

I’m sure we’ve got a potential freebie kicking around somewhere at Udinese.

Lol, people actually think we're going to stay up. Even before Newcastle started signing decent players we managed to drop below them!

We don't. Newcastle were always going to be out of the equation come the final shakedown at the end of the season.

All we can do it concentrate on getting as many points as possible, and hoping to drag a few others into it.

To go down it will be three from Burnley, Watford, Norwich, Newcastle, Everton, Leeds and Brentford. You can forget the rest.

If it's not us or Newcastle, then my money would be on Brentford for the final place, along with Norwich and Burnley. Everton would of course be hilarious, but the EPL would not allow that to happen.

It's three out of Norwich, us and Burnley. Any 3. Any order.

Probably, but, you have to have hope until it's mathematically impossible.

Newcastle going for Thomas Muller as well. Corr imagine a midfield of Muller, Guimaraes and Shelvey.

Even with all these big money signings, it's going to take at least a season or two before Newcastle get to the level of consistency of Liverpool and Abi Dhabi City. One thing however is certain, after this season they will never flirt with relegation again, if they gel and find the formula.

The question is whether Howe can get big names to play for him. He doesn't appear to be enough of a pull.

We don’t need to according to Lyon.

I'm addicted to hopium, but I definitely think Brentford could be dragged into it.

If, and huge if, we beat Burnley. We'd be 6 points behind with 2 games in hand. Definitely enough games to overtake a squad that isn't much better than ours, if Sarr returns soon.

Although as a caveat, DaSilva returning is massive for them, if he can quickly get up to form.

I appreciate the maths works but I just don't see us winning enough of the remaining games to make up a 10 point gap to Brentford (and let's face it, there's only Brentford realistically who could drop) unless they pretty much didn't win another game.

If Roy can get us playing like pre-December Quique, tight at the back and nicking goals from Dennis, Pedro and King, then I think we have a chance. Not a good one, but a chance nonetheless.

Lose against Burnley though and we’re absolutely screwed.

The problem, as ever, is exactly like with Pearson, Roy could come in and pick up 3/4 wins in the next few games and get us back in the mix for staying up, but it won’t be sustainable for the rest of the season and just like all teams do, we’ll have another bad patch again but there is just no margin for error for that.

Yes but if his replacement in April (Warnock) gets another 3/4 wins we'll be safe !

Not for the first time, I'm wondering why we had one of the best ever home records in the history of the second tier and now have the worst in the Prem - it's as distinct as night could get from day.

I looked at other teams that have been promoted to the PL with similar home records and the majority of them did quite well at home, even including those that were relegated - here's the teams in the top 10 home records and how they fared after promotion to the Prem:

The only teams that did poorly at home apart from us were Forest and Charlton (and even they had a far better defensive record, conceding five fewer goals all season than we already have) - Norwich were OK at home, it was only not winning away all season that caused them to be relegated. I think with the other teams the difference was they were excellent in attack as well as defensively (Sunderland in particular had little Kev) whereas our main threat came from Sarr, Pedro and occasionally Sema who isn't good enough at this level. But still the difference shouldn't be this stark - are the team more comfortable playing in front of zero crowds (but then our home record was good under Pearson before the first lockdown)? Are the 1881 doing all they can to provide a good atmosphere at a time when the team really needs the fans' support? It's imperative that Roy and Ray turn the Vic back into a fortress if we are to stay up, but that of course means clean sheets and a defence playing with some semblance of competence...

You really just cannot discount the basket case element of our squad this season, from the very start to the present moment.
