We have plucky defeats to Spurs and Chelsea. Worth more than points IMO

 

They're far from perfect but decent defenders and a decent coach leads to clean sheets. Who knew?

 

Joke's on them, we can start preparing to buy Championship level players while they'll be stuck in August not knowing who to buy!

 

If you think about it, it's actually a pretty funny performance-art style joke - like, 'No no, haha, no need to assemble a defence of players of the most basic requisite level compared to even the very worst of our rivals in the division we're playing in! No resale value in defenders. I know all evidence points to the contrary but I can only conclude this is false because Scott and Gino don’t do bad business. If we wanted good defenders, we’d have them.

 

To put a little balance on them, it looks like there are financial pressures from the Leveraged Buy out/takeover. The new owners might have relegation in the downside case but potentially selling Tarkowski might help (albeit Brentford have a 27% sell on fee -above the £3.5m Burnley paid in 2016)

Having seen the Pukki on Samir one it looked similar. There was a touch from Kane on Silva who then fell over. Definitely did not like it was a foul. It felt like one of those where whatever decision the ref gave was never going to be overturned by VAR.

So with us as Dean gave nothing it was always going to be a goal where as here he gave a free kick so they stayed with that decision.

 

Neither were fouls. I think we even had one given for a similar challenge a few minutes before. Forgotten by our angry fans obviously.

 

Funnily enough they just compared the Samir incident to the Kane one on Sky, Redknapp said both were fouls.

The good news is it's being reported by Sky that Sevilla have now lowered their asking price for Diego Carlos to £38m, and he handed in a transfer request last week, so it's hard to see how his transfer wouldn't now go through. The only possible saviour is that unnamed (as far as I know) Premier League rival hovering about trying to gazump the Mags that was mentioned last week.

 

Last season when we were in the championship Scott said we are an established premier league club. This season has shed some light on the truthfulness of Scott's words.

Strange tautological way of describing last season - "fantastic" is pushing it a bit for a team that mostly only won games by the odd goal or two and only really got going in February.

 

That is a very confusing way of quoting Duxbury's words in my post, hah - you even had me confused that you were quoting something I absolutely did not remember writing at some point!

Yes, I completely agree - it's hyperbolic at the very least, and for large portions of it we were quite far from fantastic.
