Maybe i'm naive but if i'm a Leicester fan i'd rather be in the Europa, a competition they could feasibly win with some great away trips than the champions league where in reality they'll do well to get out the group.

We’d do well to finish third in most of the groups and qualify for the Europa!

Personally I’m happy either way, or rather I can’t moan about ‘big 6’ fans being entitled and then feel underwhelmed by and FA Cup win and 5th place in the league!

The nagging thing is the feeling of having blown it after a really good points gap and I hope that doesn’t weigh too heavily on the players. They deserve some slack because the squad has been obliterated by injuries this season. Personally I thought I’d feel more disappointed (not that it’s official yet) about missing out on the CL.

Yes predicted this a few pages ago. The comeback at Man Utd made this a virtual certainty.
Don't feel too sorry for @Filbert . They won the FA Cup and can look forward to relegating us next season which, as we know, is far more attractive than CL qualification. Utter B******* every last one of them......

As I've said before, there's something wrong if fans (and media) value qualifying for something next year over winning something this year.

Just qualifying for the CL is worth £35m if you don’t get out the group, so as usual money talks. Not sure what the Europa is worth but it’s clearly not going to be anywhere near that.

I think as Filbert has previously stated qualification would help them avoid having to sell any players, so you can see the appeal from that point of view, but the Europa would actually be a winnable competition for them.

Yes, Burnley let their fans in for nothing, Spurs increased the price to £60. Levy says they've perhaps made some mistakes lately, but he's obviously learnt that charging £100 and no free burger would have disrespected the fans. Progress has been made in repairing the image of this Superclub, then.

2 seasons in a row Leicester appear to have blown top 4. Annoying West Ham have dropped off as well. I was looking forward to seeing a top 6 club fail to make top 4 and for 2 of the top 6 to finish outside of it.

Chelsea have a tough final game at Villa so I wouldn’t rule Leicester’s chances out.

Funnily enough although CL qualification has looked a good deal more likely for them than it did last season, it doesn’t feel as much as a collapse. Is that because more points are required to make top 4?

Nuno leaving wolves at the end of the season, another team potentially in our sights if they don’t get the appointment right.

Yes, although it probably also depends on how much the owners are prepared to spend over the summer. It'll be interesting to see.

You’d assume so, 6 months ago I would’ve thought it would have been a great appointment for them, but the way it’s gone stale you don’t wonder if it will end up the same at Spurs. I do appreciate they’ve been without Jiminez though. On that subject if they sell Kane and he can get him to go with him it will kill two birds with one stone.

Yeah I mean Fosun are clearly no mugs and not short of a bob or two, they’re unlikely to risk relegation. It’s just good for us that at least there is another side potentially in the mix by virtue of the fact they could mess the next managerial appointment up.

A boring end to an ultimately predictable season despite much promise at the start (West Ham, Sheff Utd and to a lesser extent Villa have been the only real surprises). Sheff Utd have got the goal against Burnley to stop them from setting an unwanted record for lowest number of Prem goals scored.

One or two things could make it interesting though, eg if the scores at Leicester and Liverpool stay as they are, but Chelsea self-destruct at Villa to miss out on the CL on goals scored/goal difference, or Arsenal fail to qualify for the EL despite having a far easier fixture than their fierce rivals.

Also it looks like a19tgg was right in that 30 points would've been enough to keep you up in the Prem - weakest set of relegated teams ever!

Yes, I'm surprised some were writing off Leicester given Chelsea's fixture - I guess they were assuming they wouldn't beat Spurs at home...

Well Chelsea will have to win the Champions league to get into it next season unless Spurs do them a favour.

Handball goal too apparently for Spurs 3rd goal so could have been disallowed.

Please tell me we can win more than ten games next season. WBA and Fulham have been worse than Sheff Utd in the winning column.

Well can't complain too much about that.

Predictable finish but not the manner of it - and Spurs manage to match Arsenal's result to get the last European spot, but not in the way I expected!

Shame about Everton's capitulation, I thought they had a chance as City have been leaking a fair few goals recently.

The bottom 3 all failed to get 30 points, I doubt that happens very often. And all were more than 10 points from safety.

    Aw it’s all good!

No right to complain, seems a fitting way to end this ridiculously packed season with Fofana going off injured in tears in the first half. It’s basically been a first team squad of 15 players for the last couple of months and several of those have been carrying injuries. Crazy we’ve kept it going this long.

Big summers ahead for palarse and wolves, will they get the right guys in and hit the ground running? Palarse loads out of contract with aging squad. Wolves seem to be in a similar rut we ran into after beating them at wembley, nuno out taking his coaching staff with him maybe some of their Portuguese contingent have had enough too. Will Dyche stick with Burnley? If he leaves there I see them in big trouble.
Here’s hoping we start getting our business done early have a decent pre season and have a bit of a leg up on some mentioned teams. For me it’s a big mini league from the 3 promoted teams and Newcastle down to Burnley competing for survival next year. Also be interesting to see how wet spam cope with the extra fixtures and can Leeds and villa keep punching above their weights. ?

Plus it will be the first summer window with the full Brexit rules in place for transfers. It probably won't affect the larger teams much.
