Simms you need to man the **** up. You got in at 4 and had an 11am lecture. That's highly doable. It's a lecture, not an exam.

Lecture's are for sleeping. Drink your way through it, in three years I never attended a personal tutor meeting.

Anyway, I'm back for Reading week, got to finish a 1000 word monologue by Monday, will have it done soon. Going back to Chi on Sunday, mate left his room open so we covered most of his stuff in post it notes and cling filmed a lot of stuff, balloons in the shower etc and moved the ironing board, mop and hoover into his room. Wish I was there to see the room inspector's face...

I just remembered from last night we tried to abduct a girl from the kebab shop

On the way to an after party, she was eating on her own looking lonely so we went up and said come back to a party at ours and my mate grabbed her hand trying to persuade her and she says "my bf is just at the till getting food" so we ran off into the night.

I have a 2000 word group essay due for the 21st on nov. My group is a French (fit) girl and an Italian guy, both can barely speak english. Any advice as to how I get through it without getting incredibly frustrated?

It was ok, we had a girl with us asking. She didn't want to be the only girl at the after party and it was her idea...

The girl was dressed as a Droog from A Clockwork Orange, so if anything she was the rapiest of all. I was dressed as a corpse, we had one corpse, one guy with a noose, the italian girl as a cat, and a vampire and the joker.

We've nicknamed a guy in our ethics and logic seminars "Slalom" because he consistently without fail misses the point of every single thing mentioned. He just slaloms down either side of the point never fully understanding. He asked in the ethics seminar how fat does a fat person have to be to stop a train if we were in the old trolley problem dilema, and about whether its better to be a satisfied oyster or a disasisfied human, he made the point "well what if the oyster got picked and eaten, then he wouldn't be satisfied" :D Good old slalom.

Basically - you have to get to do as much as they can, then you have the final say and rewrite the whole thing yourself.

So I just had my meeting, got home and added the french girl on facebook. Look through her profile pictures and the first one, is a group picture inside a club in london. Sitting behind her is my best friend. Sooooo weird.

Going to Cardiff tomorrow to view properties, will be all over the place in the next few days: i'm staying in Cathays, but got a few properties to view in Roath, some near the park, others further south, a couple towards the bay, 1 in Canton, and if I can be bothered one up neat tesco extra heading north. Time to make my mind up about where to live within Cardiff. Simms are there any agencies you would avoid/ heard bad things? Or any ones that you've been recommended? Most of my properties I'm viewing have been found via spareroom, zoopla and gumtree.

Where abouts are you staying in cathays?

I've not really had much experiance with other agencies because I used student letting the one belonging to the uni, but there are plenty about, there's one at the end of my road.

I live right by lidl on minister street. This is the one on my road. http://www.moginiejames.co.uk/

That's like 10 minutes away from where I'm staying, i'm staying at alexander st. Well I don't want to pay a any agency fees - as they are unnecessary and would only consider an agency that uses the Deposit Protection Scheme as it makes getting your deposit back a lot easier (and fairer)

I viewed a property near there, thus a wry smile appeared on my face as I knew that I was walking down the road you live on, if only the walls could talk I thought. Although I'm not living there, my two favourite properties are in roath, although towards town end of roath rather than the park, now have a start date so just have to move in.

My mate used to live in Taff's Well which is a couple of stops on the train from Cathays. Nice little area with a couple of decent pubs. If you don't mind the travel and being out of the centre could probably pick up some decent accommodation on the cheap there.

  32. A. Web

    A. Web Reservist

I have heard there are some really nice areas outside the centre, initially I want to live quite centrally but if I stay there for a while then I might consider moving to somewhere like that and as you say the accommodation will be cheaper

  33. simms

    simms vBookie

Which road was the property on? Which one did you decide on?

Roath is a less studenty area then Cathays its more a family area with the big park etc but it's still probably 50/50 with students.

It's near Broadway, which is by Newport Road. Yes I viewed a few properties in Roath that had PHD students, but that's fine. Some of the houses I saw in Roath were shocking, very messy and poorly built - others were off a far higher quality and they are the ones that I have chosen. One of the best houses I saw was near Tesco extra, but for the moment I'm remaining pretty central

  35. simms

    simms vBookie

So is that it you've decided or are you coming back for more viewings?
