Draper loses in three to Cerundolo.
He really doesn't look fit enough to me, especially for the rigours of clay.

First time there are no British ladies in the draw for a grand slam since 2009!

I’m always amazed how tennis players survive particularly a clay court tournament. I know it’s not a contact sport, but it puts namby pamby footballers to shame.

    Very true.
    Clay is brutal.
My feet haven't recovered from playing in 40° in Germany for three hours in the 40s World Champs. I'm still losing toenails to this day!

Yesterday the Weird Sisters of the club, together with their 'Muscle' the pugilistic former Club Captain were hovering like spectres at the feast.

When I finished with my lovely girls group they hovered closer and the chair wanted a confrontation with me as I handed her the clubhouse key and key to the coach store.

The girls and their mums were very shaken as the chair shouted at me over meaningless items and one where I corrected her. This was the letter in reply to my 'Dear John' notice of leaving.

She claimed she had typed May 26 as the last day. It clearly has May 31 and I am heading there now.

One of the mums was on the junior committee and was appalled but not surprised, having been belittled and ignored for the last two years plus.

All of the girls will leave the club, one going up the highroad to Broxbourne.

Numerous others will follow, lots have already gone.

The girls aren't performance players but have all been at the club prior to my arrival and have kept at it and formed a WhatsApp group and are firm friends. They were a joy to work with, came out in all weather always happy and keen to learn.

I feel sure they will continue their tennis and one is staying to keep up her individual lessons with me.

So sad but as all of my many friends at Hobblesdon have said, indicative of how the club is heading.

    "Coventry".

Frenchman Arthur Fils,go on my son, wins in Lyon.

Bronzetti wins in Rabat WTA or was it Strasbourg? Rabat I think.

    Like the Generation Game here..
"Two bottles of Barolo, a bottle of Prosecco, a bird house feeder, theatre vouchers, a large bunch of roses. Multiple cards with heartfelt messages."

Meanwhile Hobblesdon have found a solution to the cricketer coming to claim the ball at 12.30pm today.

Have no courts in use on the best day of the year save the one I was using.

    No danger of fatalities then!

    Brilliant by the committee!

If only I'd realised their genius earlier.

    They are notoriously grumpy.
Had the right hump with many players down the years.
Doesn't take much to upset them.
    Bolshi lot!

Extraordinary and again evidence of how tennis is the hardest game.

World number 176 Seyboth Wild from Brazil beats Medivet in five.

Brilliant performance from what I saw. He won,not a loss from Med.

    Oh my GOODNESS Gael!

    What a ridiculous match.

Gael wins from a Lazarus like position.

Stupendous effort and the Parisian crowd going bonkers. La Marseilles being sung.

    Extraordinary.

Spare a thought for Baez, played his heart out but was playing "half of Paris" as Henman said.

    What Δράμα!

Good to see Luca back again after all his problems.

Norrie wowing them with his comments. Met with almost complete silence.
