Don't be a ****. She's no more or less likely to have anxiety, depression or drugs problems in tennis than she is as an accountant, engineer, binman, town planner, professional lego maker, Pokemon trader, chriopodist or translator.

Maybe she would rather be an F1 driver. But hey, so would I. She has the talent for tennis and would 100% categorically be more regretful if she humped off and left the sport now instead of sticking with it and potentially wishing she had never picked up a racket.

I don't think accountants etc are under the same level of scrutiny and pressure. I've already made the point that if she quits tennis early she'll always wonder what might have been.

Having a different view to you doesn't make me a ****. Commenting in that way suggests that you are, thoùgh.

Capriati now retired at 44 in Florida with a net worth $10m plus. She’s had some bad times but sounds like she has found peace and can do whatever she wants for the rest of her days.

I did, a couple of beers, a fumble round the back by the bin and maybe a curry to top the night off. 30 years on and I'm still waiting for it.

That's good! But she did have very bad times, and in the public eye too.

As long as you've got enough money for a comfortable life (which tennis players generally do) you don't miss $10m cos you don't know what it's like to have it. At least, I don't.

I think things have moved on from the Capriati days.
Emma seems to have her head screwed on and there's too much money at stake for her not to have a decent management team.

Retired by 25, she can take her pick of media or non-media jobs, even go to uni if she so wishes.

As an aside. She's playing a level of tennis which shows intelligence and skill not seen in the Woman's game for many years, as was Fernandes. Hopefuly these two can put the final nail in the Williams coffin and trigger the game to move on.

If Djokovic had his time again I reckon he would ditch this bat and ball nonsense and focus on middle management in a Serbian power plant. :)

Yes that was as one sided as the golf !

I guess Murray can still play but not against the top guys .

He can certainly compete against them but not over the course of a tournament.

What is it with him and his tennis shoes!
Someone returned them and he beat another AM to play Alcaraz next.
ER has a taste of what's to come as she loses 2&4. She will now be the hunted not the hunter,Karen or Jeff! ( Surrey tennis joke!)

Slower courts hampered ER but help AM.
Interesting match as AM had called for clarity regarding the assault case with Zverev.
Fernandez not suffering a post Flushing dip, she's into round four beating a higher seed.

Cam Norrie could be a top 20 player by the end of the season.

Having a very solid consistent season.

Djokovic looking imperious so far this week.
Zverev tonight to play Medvedev in the final.
Can't recall the last time two alternates played in the finals.
Sad for Matteo if it's a recurrence of his stomach injury.

I sat next to him in Queen's canteen once. He looked like a tramp.
I have no idea how Salisbury and Skupski lost the second set tie break. They were 5-0 up and lost 7-5.
    Germany win 2-1.
