    Happy Easter!!

Sorry, that was way too upbeat to open this thread with. We are probably still smarting from our disgrace of a performance at the Dog Kennel, in which the club took the piss out of the fanbase once more by using Harry Potter sponsored buses to transport them to our final "cup final" of the season. Was it as magical of a day out as the bus fortold? Was it hell. Watford may as well of not turned up and given Luton the points. It was boarderline worse than QPR, and that would take some doing. Rob Edwards got one over his old boss Gino Pozzo with a subpar performance who had more fight and bottle than our zebra-cladded shirkers.

Anyway, thankfully that game has been and gone and with it, any subtile chance of making the playoffs. Although it's still mathematically possible to reach it, we need to make up six points, with seven games remaining. Usually, I would look at this sort of fixture and think, "easy - three points to bounce back". Now? I am thinking "oh crap, they just humped the division's form team 4-1... we are playing like dross and they are very aware of our form. Back to back wins for Huddersfield will give their survival chances a massive boost. 'Udders have had the direct opposite of a season to their previous one. While they all dreamt of a PL return after reaching the PO Final last May, they narrowly lost out to Nottm Forest, but instead of challenging strongly for another shot at the big time, they have spent the entire season mired in the relegation places. However, with hard nut Neil "Colin" Warnock, they have a manager who is wise enough in the English game to keep them up. After winning his first game in charge. they dipped in form a bit but bounced back by hammering Boro' at their place, possibly one of the shock results of the season.

Now they travel to Hertfordshire on Friday afternoon looking to get Easter weekend off to a great start. A squad that has been torn to bits since they failed promotion last time out, they have found a good manager who is hard talking and let's his players do the rest. They will be up for this game - a lot more than we will. Wilder spoke volumes after the loss Saturday lunchtime. His words rang true for a lot of hornet fans'. He has been in charge of four games and can already see the club is a total mess from top to bottom. With social media up in arms, and the fans' finally starting to turn on the team (the booing at FT and swearing was very evident of that), I really do not think our lot care about responding. They had two weeks to prepare for our biggest game of the season and played it like a pre season friendly. It doesn't matter what team we put out or who is in charge, half of this side or more are going to be off in the Summer, and they know this. They are coasting to the end of the season and they won't attempt to go out on a high. All season we have played well below our standards and nothing is going to change in a few days' time either.

I'm looking forward to this. Depending on how we get on, things might really kick off in the stands. If we lose, I'm predicting the supporters will be so incensed they will deliberately stop clapping at the end of the game. For Watford, that is DEFCON 1.

Win, lose or draw...this match doesn't matter anymore. We've got 7 post-season friendlies to end the campaign with. Time to blood the kids. Amass, Adeyemyo and Blake should all be given match time.

Spoiler. None of these things will happen. But what will happen is some kid will hold up a ‘let me have your shirt’ sign on behalf of a parent.

It’s also Good Friday - people aren’t going to waste their long weekend on our crap. Stadium will be half empty.

First game for me since the cup final, and first time I’ve been back in the UK with my kids during the season, so I’m going to bring the two oldest along as well for their first taste of WFC.

Concerned it may be classed as child abuse to expose them to our shyteshow of a club.

Wilder is presumably on a big bonus for promotion, so while it’s mathematically possible, what’s in it for him to play the kids? He’ll pick the strongest side he can, unless he’s ordered to do otherwise from above, which wouldn’t be at all surprising.

Unbelievably if we win these two easter fixtures we could be back in with a massive chance of reaching the playoffs, it wont happen though. Pozzo out.

    Honestly, don’t waste your time.

Take your wives out on date, go out with your husband somewhere, spend time with your kids, show your girlfriend/boyfriend that Watford don’t come before them, and if you don’t have any of that, enjoy the time of being single, go on an adventure and create memories of a lifetime.

Literally anything is better than watching these bunch of cowards. Still hoping for the day our pathetic fans finally snap and go full South American, run onto the pitch and start chasing the players off it. Kicking them as they do.

Driving down Friday morning in good time to make the match. Luckily though I'm going to carry on driving right past Watford and head to the south coast for the bank holiday weekend instead.

7 wins would give us 76 points, which would have been enough for top 6 in 5 of the last 7 seasons.

6 wins and a draw would give us a tiny chance, but I can't see the squad having the consistency, or putting in the required effort, to come close to that.

Its our first trip (me and my sons) to the Vic this season. Not the best timing, but what the hell. It is too late for my kids now as they are all adults, and I have inflicted the burden of being a Watford supporter on them. There may be still time for your children to save themselves!

We have not seen them win a game for such a long time, so I am hoping that we can eek out a win this time. Nil nil it is then!

If we win this, Coventry will feel like a big game. Play-offs are still mathematically possible and I reckon they'll string us along for a little while longer.

It's a bit of a fantasy discussion anyway but given only 7 games to go, sitting 11th with 4 teams between us and the PO and needing to win 2 games just to catch up with the team 6th, who have a game in hand anyway, I think 7 wins probably wouldn't be enough. Irrespective of what teams have achieved in previous seasons. I'd hate to hit form now and finish within 3 points of the POs knowing that that lot could claim their win cost us a PO spot.

I don't know why but I went to both of those games. It was pure luck we squeezed into 6th on the final day of season after a 1-1 draw at Blackpool. None of that eleven Boothroyd put out looked up for either game. Losing the home game so badly was enough, but getting stuffed at their place was the perfect end to a season that had started with so much promise but ended in the a very Watfordy way. I reckon they let us score our one goal over those games out of pity.

Amusingly (to me, at last) I'm doing a reverse @luke_golden , and am heading stateside to avoid this game. Also to attend one of my best mates' weddings. It cost slightly more, but will only result in about 50% of the frustration and bitterness.

Neil Warnock had a little pop at Wilder in the papers asking Wilder suggested Colin had left Boro in a bad position..

So not only will their players be more motivated and have greater desire to win so will the manager.

    Mind you no great surprise!
