Do we know this or just it just fit a theory ?
Ironically we'd have been better starting the champ season with Munoz and the prem season with Ivic. Ultra defensive football was the last thing we needed in the champ when we needed to let our relative quality shine through.

Well Duxbury came out in public and backed Deeney which completely contradicted what Ivic had said.

Very true and relatable post. I console with every sentence of this. I feel like 95% of the fan base is on the same page in terms of the apathy they feel towards the club and how they have lost the sense of occasion. That’s not something that is easy to achieve, because it runs far deeper than just being miserable that we are losing every week.

The Pozzo’s have no doubt peaked already. There is no way they’d even be able to match what we’ve done over the past 10 years - which makes you wonder what’s the point in carrying on? They have ripped the identity out of this club, we are a collective of gutless individuals from top to bottom. I’d rather roll the dice now and enter the next chapter.

We will not get promoted next season. I said this last time we went down, but I did have some hope once we kept Sarr and as we saw he carried us there really at times. I think we're going to be much weaker this time around, I can see a few years of mid-2000's type league positions coming up, if not worse to be honest.

Me too. The missus is on Facebook but really only for the local community pages, which gives a lot of useful info, but neither of us use Twatter. The look of incredulity on some people's faces when I tell them I'm not on either is sometimes a real picture. It's as if I've told them I don't really bother with oxygen...

Bump as this needs to be on the front page - more so than the Hodgson and Duxbury ones.

Pozzo has the final say on all the terrible decisions made, antagonises the staff of the club, refuses to communicate with the supporters and has invited criminals and shysters into our club. He needs to go and nothing will change until he does.

Gino has broken the train set that daddy gave him.

And there you have it. In what other organization would you have the senior manager back the staff against the manager even though they know the manager is correct in his analysis of what is wrong. The continual being one of the boys from Fuxbury whether it's mere sycophancy, a desperate attempt for street credibility with the players or attempt to lure players by telling them Watford FC is a holiday home is appalling.

No wonder any manager who tried to implement discipline or fitness gets rebuffed. Ivic, Gracia and the appalling scenic holiday in Austria when the squad could not be bothered to attain peak fitness and where the canker really set in after they had reached the climax of all achievements a 6-0 drubbing in a showpiece final or when Ranieri experienced as he is could not get the OAPs and layabouts to continue what had been until then successful changes in maintaining a high press.

This sort of two faced attitude and dribbling drivel from Fuxbury about how the squad is fitter than ever before when it clearly is not and never backing the manager is another damning indictment on the two clowns records of running the club. Most of the players are content to go through the motions.

although I totally agree with you, there is no point debating about a change in ownership. For that to happen either Gino must want to sell and have a buyer lined up or the fans need to make a huge show of disapproval to force the situation. The former is not happening and the latter is impossible on two counts - one look at Man U and how the glazers are digging their heels and two, our fans are the most apathetic bunch ever whose response will “be thankful that it’s not Bassini”

"Roy's been fantastic," he said. "He came in and got a group of lads who were a bunch of misfits, to be perfectly honest, and got us playing a style where we know we're all on the same page at least"

How has a top level professional football club signed a squad of 'misfits'?

Fraudster bleeding the club dry. Taking out loans against revenue source he can and sending it all straight to his dodgy agent mates.

It appears that there was a very negative reaction from some supporters last night.

Of course there is time left in the transfer window but do you trust pozzbury to reinforce where required.

Has Edwards been hung out to dry with an ageing and not very capable midfield. Will he lose his two best attackers come the end of the month?

I am wholeheartedly Pozzo out, I can’t ******* stand them. Pathetic all round, and in two weeks time I’ll be shocked if anyone is still standing by them.

Even Burnley proactively prepared for selling their entire squad by signing the replacements first. This attempt to build an entire team in two weeks is going to be hilarious.

On the plus side, raises the question of how easy it must be to keep a serie a side up each year.

All the guff that comes out Pozzo's backside via the mouth of chief bumlicker Fuxbury is just that.

What rankles is not the fact that Pedro is probably on his way but the way recruitment is handled. How there is no rhyme and reason to it and as a consequence we are forced by a series of grievous mistakes into assembling a rag tag squad. Make do and mend at the last minute all the time at every window with scant consideration despite the lies Fuxbury uttered about working with the manager to identify targets.

Mistake after mistake means any monies accrued will disappear up the debt spout or into and something which should be incredibly concerning this link with the Bayat creature and the monies wasted on his stable of bargain basement dross. Bargain basement they should be but for some reason we pay top dollar for these footballing calamities.

Just to highlight this bizarre policy that goes from one extreme to another. First we don't sign defenders but focus on forwards. Now we shed the forwards and try and bring in defenders. We may miracle of miracles manage to bring in one or two more forwards rather than Manaj and Bayo who look hardly convincing but will they be the right mentality, hungry, technically capable and with upside ? It's hard to bring in such players consistently but quite a few clubs of our size through the appliance of science have managed to work out this trick.

They sign those players with regularity and in the sure knowledge they will disappear at some point actually have already targeted their replacement and in turn a replacement for them. These teams build squads, remain competitive and have a young hungry squad. I cannot see this with this club while Pozzo decides what goes.

As I said before if we fail in the mission objective laid down by Fuxbury then my ire will be directed solely to him and Pozzo. They so far have sold Rob a pack of lies, failed to help him as they should and have no coherent plan again. It isn't easy for a club our size to be competitive in one sense given the fan base, the size of the town but this dastardly duo can't even do the basics correctly. It really isn't that hard to do a reasonably competent job recruitment wise.

No doubt dunderheads like the buffoon from Wendover will be defending whatever idiotic decisions these clueless numpties make. And @reids was saying (missed the game lunch with the missus and Oxford supporting friends at the Shard who offered their sympathies with the owner we have) regarding the set pieces can we not get a decent analyst in ? Maybe reids himself who was ignored by the simpletons at the club. They seem to love bringing in dross all over the place. A surefire recipe for success. Mr.Younger ex of Doncaster and his marvellous track record.

When GT was in charge the scouting network domestically was second to none. In all the constituent parts of the British Isles. The model was target players with ability, but also with a tough mentality and those with a winning mindset. GT expected no less of himself and wanted players in that mould. Again it's harder today because of the proliferation of scouting networks but even so a modest use of analysis at home would be so much more effective. Bring them in from down the pyramid because they do exist these players and then of course as we have always done sell them on. For building the base of the club even more strongly.

At the moment for every little step of progress in recent seasons there are several steps backwards elsewhere. The inadequacies of several seasons of misguided recruitment merely complicate the issue of what happens if somehow we get promoted given that scoring goals for us at the moment is like trying to find a politician that doesn't lie. We are stuck with the dilemma then of having to spend big because we gave up the 'stars' in the previous season due to relegation or going through the whole rigmarole of buying uncommitted dross that becomes a burden unless they have release clauses (which probably means they are more disinterested as with Joshua King's efforts while they are at the club). We just cannot and don't build a squad because there is no planning.

I’m at bargaining. Bargaining in my head that it’s not all bad and that Gino will deliver us 3-4 signings this week. Failure for that to happen and I will be feeling depressed about the season ahead.

Acceptance and hope will come when Elton gets more involved and someone buys the club.

Then I will be able to process my grief of the past 3-4 years.

It is so difficult to have any confidence in these owners. They take us into the PL and rather than improve season after season, they watch on as the team self destruct. They are given a warning when we got relegated the other season, apparently learning from their mistakes. They get back to the PL put no real investment into the team and the inevitable happens. There making mistakes already this season, bringing in tripe like Manaj and Bayo, is just unbelievable. WTF were they thinking.? Do they seriously see these players in action before bringing them in. I see them now for what they are, and that is totally out of their depth. We tasted the PL now and our tastes as fans is more than having to languish in this league. Add to this the tedious performances so far and it’s a pretty **** time to be following this lot. There has to be some good news for us coming as currently it’s just decline after decline. I’ve no doubt we are going to slide down this table once these teams suss us out. If we let a goal in against one of the better teams we are stuffed as we have no one capable of getting us a goal back.

The decline of this team over the past few seasons is totally self inflicted by these owners. It may even be possible they’ve lost interest, realising that financially they can’t compete and just hope we are flakey enough to get in the top 2 so we are a more appealing to potential new buyers.

If somebody came in for us, how much do you think they would have to spend to get us into the black again financial wise? We are talking about clearing all the debt and paying back any loan deal agreements and on top of that any bank investment loans (like the one against Vicarage Road). Nobody knows the actual size of our debt - some estimate it's a big as 100M. So I reckon, based on that alone - to put us into a financially viable state where we can trade for players and look forward to our future.... 200M?

I do not even know the sale value of the club - it must of gone down due to the debt and Pozzo would almost certainly want a cut of the profit.

Even if we were attractive enough for a megabucks investor to appear, I do wonder if the very act is less attractive across the board at this point, with so many historically or injection-ally super rich clubs already in place.

It's an annoying thought (although probably not that likely to begin with, anyway, I appreciate) but even the Saudi state have no guarantees of Champions League football, let alone winning titles, when there are so many clubs at a relatively similar level to them financially and/or operationally.

Buying a football club is a hard thing to justify to begin with, and now if you're not sportswashing or a completely random inherent fan, it seems like even some who might once have been inclined to may now think twice. And I say that as someone inclined more towards regime change at London Colney than not.
