Paul Merson is a first class end of a bell. Never liked his god awful pudantry on Soccer Saturday. He was an okay player in his day (Middlesbrough hero), but unlike Souness. who brang a element of professional tact the the role, Merson just looked a bit lost. Also, get a haircut dude, your on national television.
He used to live in Chiswell Green,I'm not sure if he does now. He was a very good player but clearly has an addictive personality which with too much money and time is very dangerous.
He can be a scruff if he knew what he was talking about. Lots of academics are scruffs but they have their mind on higher things. Merson cannot even be a competent pundit. Hopefully he gets shunted into the siding soon. All of these shows on TB and Sty Sport have enough hot air to keep the world going for decades.
Not before time. I never watch them waffling or indeed the half-time chat. Or MOTD post the highlights. Waste of time. Wish they'd go back to the old format. Just show us the game.
Prefer him a lot more to the identikit pundits all over the place. Describes goals well, and conveys excitement. Seems a good bloke to be honest. Obviously wouldn’t want 10 Mersons in the pundit booth but in isolation he has likeable charm the others don’t.
I met 'Merse' a couple of years ago at the Chelsea Flower show of all places. He's actually a very nice chap
Seems to be honest and open in what he say even if it sometimes doesn’t come out well. Probably hasn’t had the media training some have had who work more regularly.
Same, met him in a local pub after the FA cup final one year about 10 years ago, was very amiable and happy to have chat.
