I was considering re-newing mine, but after this season I cannot justify the entertainment value for the price. These last four/five seasons' have been very hard to sit through and until Gino sells up and leaves or has a massive change in how this club is run then it's still a no from me. I know a lot of clubs have it a lot worse than we do, but as a loyal Watford fan, I want to go to games with a hope I will be entertained, rather than watch eleven overpaid shirkers do the bare minium for maximum reward. When this club gets a sense of who it once was, I will gladly return to games. But Gino isn't going anywhere unless we are bought or at worst relegated to League One.

They should extend the young person category to 19-25. Even those young people who manage to find a job straight after they finish their education will struggle to pay the full adult fee. I raise this with the club every year and every year they politely tell me to f***off.

I expect I'll renew as it's £611 for a family of 4 in the Family Stand. Kids are £35 each so barely the price of 4 games.

I fully expect sales to drop overall.

Remember when the club started posturing about season ticket holders skipping games, threatening to stop renewals...

This season I have stopped going, the football is insipid and there is a feeling of disconnection with the club.

The utter contempt that gino and duxburry show towards the fans and their incompetence in (bordering on criminal) running the club has me make a very sad decision. For the first time in 23 years I shall not renew.

    **** the Pozzo.

I shall return once gino leaves, whatever lowly division that will see us in.

  14. Wasn't it skip 2 or more games and you got a warning?!

Half the ground looks empty most games nowadays!

I still email the release my seat address every time I miss a game. I'm not entirely sure they even do anything with that information anymore. Do they re release it, mark me as non attendance?!

    Who knows.

I blame Zola for getting peoples hopes up.

Wonder what our actual attendances are, rather than the official ones that count all the empty season ticket holder seats?

Definitely been a few this season where I'd estimate closer to 15,000. Sell all our best players in the summer and think we could easily be looking at about 12,000 if we're plodding along in 13th/14th next season.

It was a problem though. It's obviously highly ironic given where they're likely to find themselves on season ticket renewal numbers come July. But as someone who didn't have a ST in the 2015-20 PL seasons I can only say it was farking annoying to have to scrap around and pay a premium for the dross seats at the bottom or hanging off the end of a stand, just to see loads of decent ST seats sat empty game in, game out. And frankly the people it was most likely to poke in the eye were the "I support Arsenal, Watford and Saracens" hangers on, so no harm there.

I reckon we've been in the 13,000s for a couple of home games I've been to recently. Wigan especially stands out given the low away attendance.

Going by the way we seem to be run, the email is chucked in the Trash option ASAP then prompty perma deleted. They may or may not mark on their internal database that reason for non-attendance was "will not contribute to the Pozzo way".

I agree with all of this, but those of us that do not renew (myself included) will no doubt just be labelled as "Fair weather supporters".

I'll be renewing as I imagine I will every year until I'm physically not able to go. Things not good currently but football has changed as a whole and not just at Watford. Blooming fair weather supporters

That’s not true of our fundamental issues though is it? For starters having 3 managers every season is somewhat of an outlier in football, ask anyone why they aren’t renewing and you’d be hard pressed to find someone saying “because football has changed”. It’s fine that you don’t want to renew because you can see past this, but don’t brush it under the carpet as what happens at our club being the norm for those who don’t want to, it really isn’t.

Direct debits keep rolling so make sure to cancel after June payment so stop any more of your cash going to Pozzo!

In a few years time every club will have three managers a season. Gino, as usual, is ahead of the game.

  25. a19tgg

And every club will have at least 25% of PL clubs managed by their ex managers, it’s just modern football.

  26. Knight GT

Football in general has changed with all the money and the cheating etc. That's what I don't like. The manager thing at Watford is completely ludicrous but I see people saying they won't renew because of the lack of connection to the club. That's not just Watford, that's more like the norm now and probably won't change even if Gino left and we got a new owner

But who is the more deserving fan here, someone who had the wherewithal to pony up and buy a season ticket even if they don’t go to every game, or someone who just wants to go occasionally?

From the clubs perspective It looks especially daft to have treated the former in such a way in hindsight, when they’d chew their right arm off for them next season and there will be plenty of seats for the fair weather fans.

There is a reason we have normally only averaged about 13/14k or less outside of the Premier league seasons.

When I first started going in the 90s 10k was a good gate boosted by a decent away support .

Having a drop in crowds will be nothing new although the club will still be surprised and wonder where everyone has gone .

Still be a bottle neck up Occupation road and Vicarage Road though!

I'd say neither is more deserving. Both should have the opportunity to book seats if they want them. Why should I as a genuinely long term fan (who at the time couldn't justify having a ST) have to sit in a pisspoor seat for (say) Cardiff at home while all around there are empty ST seats, a proportion of which would only have someone sat on them if the billy big b0llocks teams are in town?
I get what you're saying but my comments weren't aimed at season ticket holders who don't go to every game. The people I'm talking about aren't here now, let alone next season. They cancelled their season tickets the second we went down as there's no top 6 teams rolling into town to watch any more.

I was completely the opposite. Cardiff at home? Great. Do I want to see Sterling rip Cathcart a new one? Less so.

Unfortunately I think it is at a lot of clubs. You only have to listen to any football phone in radio show to hear other fans saying much the same thing. That isn't to excuse Pozzo Jr or his slimy sidekick, Fuxbury, but I don't think we're unique in no longer feeling engaged with the team or the people running it

People can call it whatever they like, but I have the fullest of respect for fans' who still go every week home and away. I still wear the shirts, follow the club, talk about them and buy the merchandise. Makes me, you and others just as much fans' as the next supporter. I've only stopped going these past few years due to work commitments and the fact I originally stated. No matter how wonderful our stadium looks now, with it's green carpet of a pitch and fantastic facitlities, changing the attitude of the current players cannot be bought. I do however, hold out some small hope that in the Summer Manga/Costa are given full reign of transfers and do their best to get rid of the players' who clearly don't want to be here or have become surplus to requirements. Extending contracts (Cleverley) is only going to prolong our current plight.

Finances are going to be even tighter next season, but there is no reason we cannot get a few exciting free transfers or good L1 or even L2 players in on a cheaper wage bill. I am content with us sticking around in the Championship as long as we get rid of this horrible Manager revolving door policy, and we begin to build a new team ethic which plays' good quality football again. Whether or not we can do that, remains to be seen.
