November Werewolf - Day Five

The villages library was located in a beautiful Gregorian building in the centre of town that had originally been the mayor's old home. It was here that Burnsy had spent most of the past few nights pouring over every book trying to find the clues as to who could be terrorising the village.

Taking a rare break from it all, he slumped down into the Chesterfield armchair that had been his support. He needed to clear his mind and start afresh. Picking up his favourite author, he recited audibly over the classical music that was playing;

"Next morning I got up and it did not.
The first day after a death, the new absence
Is always the same; we should be careful"

"Stop Larkin about." Growled a reply.

"I knew you would come for me. The village know your identity, your time is up." Retorted Burnsy looking up staring at the beast before him.

The wolf stalked over to Burnsy taking slow deliberate steps stopping before him at striking distance. The wolf could see the fear in Burnsy's eyes and knew this was it's best chance to strike a telling blow on the villagers. Lifting is massive paw, the wolf swung at Burnsy hitting him on the left side of his temple and knocking him to the floor.

Burnsy was Very Good.

Day Five has begun.

It was too late, they were circling in on him. He was trapped. He had done everything right but they got there in the end. Sod it I will face them like a man Ashdon said to himself before striding out to the main square. Walking up the stairs to town hall he could hear shouts behind him as Moog and Cassettis Beard ran to try to grab him.

Ashdon would not give them the satisfaction. He withdrew the ornate sacrificial blade that had started this mess, took a deep breath and plunged it into his stomach. Wincing in pain, he drew the blade across spilling his innards outwards.

Collapsing on the steps just as his pursuers got to him he began to laugh at them knowing they were not the ones to kill him. His laughter seemed to fade as his life blood drained from his body pooling at the bottom of the stairs. Within seconds Ashdon was dead.

A deep howl escaped his dead lips that shook Moog and Cassettis Beard to their core. Drawing the pistol, Moog made sure that Ashdon was dead.

Ashdon was evil.
