Yep, they seem a very angry band, but also quite obsessed by food , a few of their songs are loosely about chicken and chips

Recently rediscovered a couple of bands that I liked in the 90s but never really listed to other than their hit singles. Sleeper & The Cardigans. The Cardigans especially produced a bunch of other songs which barely raised a ripple in the UK but are really worth a listen.
Here are 3 track from the superb albums "Super Extra Gravity" and "long gone before daylight". Give each at least a minute !

I did as you asked and gave each at least a minute…and found each song as bad as the last one. Boring drivel…but that’s just my taste in music is different

Have you read her autogiography ? I'm not a book reader at all but found it really interesting, hilarious and so well written. Highly recommend. Off the back of the reaction to that she has gone on to have a number of novels published.

No; I did know that she had written novels though. Will look out for it.

I think there was a thread on cover versions somewhere, but I can't find it.
Anyway here's my contribution to the 'what's the best cover version' conversation - if, in fact, anyone's having one

    Terribly sad about his suicide.
Robert Smith felt terribly guilty about not being there for his friend. He wrote “cut here” about it. See the lyrics.

Yes did a good version of 'Every Little Thing' on their first album, whilst Spooky Tooth did a great version of 'I Am The Walrus' on the album 'Last Puff'.
Grateful Dead do great live versions of various Rock'n'Roll & Country songs.
Patti Smith's version of 'Gloria' is brilliant & this thread has recently covered (!) the quality of 'Walk On By' by The Stranglers.
It's noticeable how many Dylan songs lend themselves to great cover versions; Manfred Mann almost made a chart career out of it.

Great song and great video. Real atmosphere about it. Plus it's "...featuring Robert Smith" - what more could anyone ask for ?
