Considering I clearly agree with a large part of your post re: how our ‘system’ operates-or not- a lot of what you say is pointless. Despite your clear arrogance in the way you treat anyone not fully in line with your particular brand of ‘Gino Out’, you have provided no more ‘evidence’ than have I. Interpretation of things, yes, but no incontrovertible evidence.

You say the fitness aspect is all down to people other than the coach, but then decide to quote Luton fans’ comments in favour of Edwards’ impact on their fitness…it’s either down to the coach or it’s not. Unless you’re saying it’s not down to the coach at Watford but it is at Luton?

Notwithstanding any possibility that Edwards inherited a much fitter squad at Luton than he left behind at Watford…which may be a large part of the reason why they were able to put in a much harder shift than were we.

To say the current situation has ‘nothing’ to do with Edwards is myopic; others have alluded to the possibility that attempting to ‘catch up’ on squad fitness actually caused a lot of the injury problems we witnessed, which clearly contributed to the total lack of cohesion we have seen this season.

I am not saying RE is totally to blame for this season’s mess-up; but I am still amazed at the extent to which you seem determined to portray him as some sort of ‘lost Messiah’. I would suggest a lot of this esteem is rooted in the fact that you are viewing him through the refraction of your (totally understandable) hatred of Pozzo.

It's actually crazy when you consider Leicester finished 5th two seasons on the bounce, have won the Premier League, played in the Champions League and Europa League in very recent times and also won the FA Cup and are literally on the brink of being relegated. It just goes to show no one outside the top 6 is truly established and not at risk of slipping up at any moment. Yet there are an awful lot of posters on here who think we have the divine right to play in the Premier League and stay there. Realistically we are a top half championship club by nature and will occasionally flirt with the big time but for now it feels like we are entering another chapter of mid table obscurity in the 2nd division. I don't really see a great deal wrong with that, things come and go.

While I mainly agree with your poiut of staying in the Champo for a few seasons to rebuild (which is ideally, what we need to do), our financial situation is pretty dire. Whatever cash flow we get through the fire sale of players' over the Summer window is going to barely cover the financial hit of not going straight back up. We need funds to rebuild, and we appear to have very little at the moment to throw at a total demolish and restart project. Our stadium is fine, it's a PL midtable stadium for sure. Problem is, the players we have would get rinsed for 38 games currently and we might Derby's record under threat.

Pozzo has screwed this season up, we know that. Wilder is a mere stop gap till the Summer, and whatever freebies or transfers we do get will need to be well invested to cover/strengthen what we will lose. It's probably going to take about three years of rebuild with a consistent side before we are ready to challenge. For us, we might not have the time we need before the pot runs dry.

Didn’t realise the guy who got their first was the same chap who got sent off at the Vic ..

And when he scored celebrated by mocking that WTE reaction to when he got the red card .

Just to rub it in !

Yes, an imagine of one their posters responses the thread I’d said I started on there and linked to in my post. There are plenty more on there now, none of them are me, as obviously as stated in my post, I’m the one who started the thread, I’m not any of the many Luton fans commenting on it.

I didn’t think I needed to explain how a thread on an internet forum works, but I’ll know to to allow for the lowest levels of comprehension on here next time.

Just to clarify; you went on to a Luton forum, made an account, clicked on the ol' 'Activate My Account' email, finished the sign up process, wrote a 'Hornets fan, here in peace! ;)'-style mini-essay, waited for the replies, screenshotted your favourite, and posted it back here just to...slightly support your argument in a debate that is almost entirely opinion-based?

    Honestly, what are you doing?

Me. I think we have the divine right to be in the Premier League ..... unless the European Super League ever gets underway, in which case I'll say we have the divine right to be in that instead ....

There aren’t any at all. There are just a small number of fairly dim fans on here who can’t bare to criticise the owner and accept many, many avoidable mistakes have been made in the past few years, as to do so would mean their belief system crumbling and having to admit they were so very wrong about so many things. So instead any valid criticism of the owner is deflected as entitlement to enable them to avoid facing reality.

I think we all know in relative terms we were massively punching above our weight as a sustained PL club, but that doesn’t mean the owner hasn’t made some horrendous decisions, and it also doesn’t mean you aren’t allowed to prefer the premier league over the championship having sampled both.

In their minds the owner deserves credit for getting us there in the first place, but if you criticise him for any bad decisions it’s viewed as entitlement, which must be a very hard circle to constantly try and square.

Interesting to note that having had to pay £15 to go on a coach a lot of people didn't want to go on, Stockport County who are in League 2 are covering the cost of supporters coaches to their away games at Carlisle and Orient. That's how you look after your supporters

We are sh1t, everyone knows it, but to print it in a match day programme, even as an acrostic, is just a cheap jibe. He should be above all that, but seeing as they have been irrelevant for such a long time, I suppose it’s only to be expected he’s getting a little excited. Like a kid with a sugar rush. But we all know what happens after a sugar rush, a massive crash, and hopefully that won’t be too far away when they lose the play offs.
