Looks like the only League Table that Luton have a chance of being near the top is the one for COVID infection. The world has changed. The public money earmarked for a vanity stadium project will be spent on impoverished local communities and businesses. There will be much less foreign travel, which will have a knock-on effect for the airport and the local economy. At the very least you will have to severely scale back the scope of your facility. A small pre-COVID profit is going to turn into a massive post-COVID loss. With little saleable assets you will be in big trouble. I sincerely wish you good luck. I for one don't want to see a fellow football club fold and disappear.
I can only imagine how I'll feel in 20 years when the Bournemouth rivalry is dead after they went bust and all the young fans care about is the new rivalry with a club like Swindon or Peterborough.
Might be more shared grounds and shared facilities post-pandemic to keep costs down. Luton could groundshare with a certain team in Milton Keynes. Then install a plastic pitch and ban away fans just to make them feel at home. They could call themselves the Luton Dongs which has a certain ring to it.
I understand you beat us and deserved the win , and you can tell by this forum how gutted we are to lose to you , but wouldn’t you rather be on your own forum celebrating your achievement rather than on here ? I would like to think that when we are promoted we would have more class than to hang out on your forum
Mate, plenty of your lot are on our forum 24/7. It's good to have a little bit of a wind up now and then but its also good to get other perspectives and other Views from different fans. Our forum may be stuck in the 1990s but at least people can join in from different teams rather than just your own fans with one sided views.
I'm not the most optimistic 'Orns fan, but even I would say that we're not going to blow it now. A fantastic win at Norwich and even our neighbours at Q.P.R. helping us out by beating Swansea, Brentford only drawing with the other Taffies, effectively meaning that bar a mathematical miracle, 3 points total in our last 3 matches will see us promoted. We could be celebrating promotion after the Millwall match on Saturday. Will we be good enough to stay up next season?, not sure, we will probably need to strengthen the squad, especially up front.
Last weekend feels so much longer ago than 7 days. Still gutted we lost but we've got the promotion job done and we responded well. I want to say this result is just a statistic but would have loved to have done the double over them
If we don't go up as Champions they will claim forevermore that it was because of them, so for that reason I would not be unhappy if we lose our last two games. Therefore lets give the fringe players and youngsters a run out against Brentford and Swansea.
I think I was just projecting, the negativity wasn't just about Watford looking back at it. Onwards and upwards. What a great weekend.
