    Game 4 was incredible! Jonathan Quick is unbelievable, too. The arena was intensely loud with 2 minutes left after the Kings got the 3rd goal on the Blues empty net. This team is playing just short of perfect hockey.

    Oh my god...these Kings are RIDICULOUS. The Kings are now 11-1 in the playoffs, are up 3-0 on the Coyotes in the Western Conference final, a series in which they've trailed for a grand total of 127 seconds.

    Come on you Devils........

    Don't forget Nicklas Lidstrom retired today from the sport. Not well known here but one of the great players of recent times and a model professional.

    I guess Datsyuk wil be handed the captaincy of the Red Wings for next season with Zetterberg as assistant and Ryan Suter being eagerly pursued to move to Hockeytown.

    I have a couple friends who went to school in Philly and became Flyers fans. When that trade happened, they were confused and both pleased and upset at the same time. A Stanley Cup should help resolve their feelings about it...

    Been a good series so far! As a Sharks fan Im hoping that the Devils can pull it back and win in 7! Sadly cant see it happening! Crazy that the Kings have yet to be beaten on the road so far in the post season!

    That was a great game of hockey though. 3rd period was amazing, such intensity and looked like an amazing atmosphere out there. It could be nicely set for a fantastic end to this series. Your Kings are pretty hot on the road though!

    It was an internal bleed. Who knows what brought it on. Use of painkillers ? He didn't exactly eat very healthily after he left CSKA Moscow and joined the Canucks.

    Just take a moment to appreciate his genius though. He truly (the word is abused often) was a great, great player. Ask anyone who saw the 1987 Canada-USSR series.

    I of course know him from my formative hockey experience of the 1980 Olympics and the astonishing Miracle On Ice.

    That still is the single greatest sporting experience of my life, and I just watched it on tv 3000 miles away.

    That was indeed a miracle. The great Tretiak in net and the same side had thumped the Americans 10-3 a week before.

    Some people are still trying to figure out how it happened. I hope they name some trophy or award after him as they have with their other greatest players like Kharlamov (also died prematurely in a car accident) and Bobrov.

    You must not be familiar with the Kings owners. They just won THE Cup, have deep deep deep pockets, own a team in the largest or second largest media market in the country, and play in an arena they own. This team's not going anywhere!

    Atlanta to Winnipeg. Whose next ? Phoenix to Hamilton ? LA to Quebec......:naughty:

    What happened to those Rams and Raiders. ;) Seattle should bid for any upcoming NHL franchise in their own right. Cross border derbies with the Canucks would be great fun.

    Nail Yakupov of the Sarnia Sting is hotly tipped to be numero uno in the upcoming draft.

    ...and another German ice hockey team called Hamburg Freezers, as well as a minority interest in the LA Lakers, and sweden's Hammarby football team. They own and operate the O2 Arena in London, and own and operate the Staples Center here in LA where the Kings, Lakers and Clippers play when Mariah Carey or Kanye West or Labdy Gaga aren't performing in it.

    AEG has incredible amounts of money, and the sports teams are just toys. The real money they make is in mining and oil, as well as property development. They are very likely to build LA's NFL stadium downtown next to Staples Center.

    I have thought about the pros and cons of AEG owing WFC over the years. They wouldn't know what to do with the Academy for one thing. I'm certain they'd bollix it up shortly. The arena would be torn down and rebuilt and be wonderful, or else relocated entirely which would suck. They don't have the patience for grinding out results, they want to a-bomb them with Beckham acquisitions and the like. Very mixed blessing... Finances are rock solid though!
