What a buy this man has been, he gives 110% every game and yet again was brilliant today. he has already been up against quite a few of the best wingers & WB's in the PL and has not let us down against any of them.

He must already be a big contender for our player of the season and lets hope he is with us for years to come.

Yeah, I’d imagine he goes to Udinese. He’s too old to be kicking around in the Champo if they want to make a return on him. We’ll get that Derby player they signed in return.

Was partly at fault for the first goal tbf, he didn't follow the man, it was too easy for them down that side early on. He was better as the game went on, particularly second half.

Very good although was caught out by the quick throw in for the 3rd.

I think he’s decent and a cut above his predecessors at left back. But he’s been trying too hard recently in my view and looks worse for it. Saka gave him a torrid time today and while he keeps getting stuck in, 2 of their 3 goals came down his side.

The one where thier manager ran down the touch line and gave the ball to the thrower quickly.
I thought he was not allowed outside the technical area? Cheating Arsenal again with complicite officials again.
I will not miss the favouritism of some teams if we are relegated.

Good point but he spent all game out of it!

Ranieri when he was here was always getting told off .

Yes you can add Samir into that also. But sometimes you just have to hold your arms up and say that was a decent goal. Touch and move it's quite simple and very effective

Give him a break any full back would have a tough time against Saka especially in the form he was in yesterday, and although two of the goals came down Kamara's side of the pitch I don't think he was directly at fault for either of them it was just good play by Arsenal.

Furthermore Saka did switch sides later in the match, you might ask was it because he was not getting a lot of change out of Kamara?

Or because they brought on Pepe.

Can't believe it took Arteta 75 minutes to figure out that Kamara had Saka in his pocket.

Saka was undoubtedly fantastic yesterday and clearly a class above Kamara. There's no shame in that, as that probably goes for 15 other left backs in the league. I don't feel like I need to give him a break though as I already rate him very highly. I just think in his enthusiasm to impress he's not quite doing as well as he did in the first few games. That's all. Sometimes when players relax they're better for it.

It shouldn't have been Samir getting too close to Odegaard for the backheel lay off in the first place; that should have been Cleverley's job, but hey-ho.

Have to say, I would have preferred it if he didn't, thanks to his brainless captain, have to spend over 45 minutes on double-duty chasing shadows this evening.

Given it’s a friendly and assuming the opposing coach agrees, the ref should really be allowed offer Ivory Coast the option to sub Aurier instead of a giving a second yellow. A first half red card just makes a pretty pointless game completely pointless.

  20. Chumlax

Yeah, I did literally think to myself 'well, that's rendered this exercise entirely pointless, then' when it happened.

Can't imagine either coach is greatly happy with the decision, although there are probably multiple English club managers who are cokk-a-hoop rn.

I guess we won’t see a Kane or Henderson etc booked at the weekend for that ..

Good that dissent was punished but maybe harsh in a friendly?

England were well on top anyway .

I'll freely admit that I've always believed it's a pretty fanciful idea that Kamara would consider staying with us if we are relegated, but either way, there have now been two articles entirely about him in the national media in the past couple of days, and both heavily emphasize how desperate he was/is to play and 'make his mark' in the Premier League.

Tell me I'm wearing a reflective silvery piece of headgear, but there's just no way this perfectly-timed heavy-hinting PR blitz is not solely aimed at smoothing the ground for a summer departure.

(PS. It's kind of tragicomic to note that the Guardian's article is an exclusive interview, whilst it's club journo Adam's in the Athletic that is the one entirely constructed from other people talking about Kamara and quotes he's given previously to other outlets/the official site)

I've got no problem if he leaves. His stats since joining us are superb, he deserves better than us and certainly better than the Championship. Good luck to him.

Yep, it’s like a tragic comedy now.

Every time there’s a chance we’ll have a competent left-back, we get relegated and the dream is snatched away.

Estupinan, Kamara, and Morris. What could have been.

    Where has Morris gone ?

    Played one game ..

Anyway anybody worth money will be gone tbh .

Think some will be in for a nasty surprise if they thought the likes of Pedro and Kamara were always going to stay .

His value's being protected for the summer - imagine if an injury robbed us of the chance to cash in at this stage. Hardly bears thinking about.

    At fault for second goal?

1st option lay it back to Foster, 2nd is clear out in to touch for a throw, and by a clear distant 3rd option is clip it across the attacker to your CB who is also sprinting back in the same direction.

  32. Chumlax

Personally, I think given the situation he didn't do much particularly wrong - it would hardly have been difficult for Samir to do anything competent enough to deal with it, as a result of Kamara's actions, and we're usually insanely profligate with the ball as it is - frankly a rare treat to see a defender whose first instinct isn't to blindly blooter it to no one and nowhere.

According to this Guardian article, one of the top 10 signings of the Premier League season.

    10) Hassane Kamara, Watford
The Watford managerial merry-go-round has not quite worked out the way the Hornets had hoped. They are not mathematically down but it would take a miracle for Watford to close the 12-gap between themselves and safety with four games to go. Hassane Kamara, though, has been one bright spot in a difficult season. Despite only joining from Nice in January, the Ivorian ranks 18th for tackles and interceptions combined (106) in the Premier League this season, a metric topped by Brentford’s Christian Nørgaard (162). Kamara has stepped up from Ligue 1 to the Premier League admirably and would be a smart signing this summer for a newly promoted side or any club in need of a new left-back. Rating: 7.02
