A "claim" is not proof - do you have the contract offer we made in front of you?! I don't see that what we did with Bayat makes much difference either - when you look at the fact we've still been willing to spend money outside the club recently on talented youngsters like Kone and Ferreira, then we're clearly still able and willing to invest in young players when we can and it's worth it. Do you think that say if we thought Amass was worth maybe £5mil, and that if all it would have taken to keep him was offering him an extra £1k per week or so that we wouldn't have done it if was feasible? The club would still be capable of basic maths like that.
