Great game at Wrexham! Twists and turns throughout. Gutted for Wrexham And Brighton beat Liverpool/VAR. Come on Grimsby in their replay.
It was a great game for sure but it wasn't really a David and Goliath . Wrexham are a well funded squad .
I would also like to add that it was a good result for us . I know I shall get shot down in flames for suggesting this but I haven't ruled out automatic completely. Yet . The more matches Sheff Utd have to play the better .
I’m sure they would if they were non league , playing a team 3 leagues above them pushing for promotion.
Can’t wait. Much more exiting as a fan when the whole world is your oyster and winning promotion wouldn’t automatically lead to a season of misery, as would failing to win promotion.
We’re currently 10% for promotion, even if Sheffield Utd collapse and we somehow manage to start stringing two wins on the trot together, that would be ignoring the fact, at the very least, Boro would most likely still be ahead of us. To bring it back on topic, I think we have as much chance of winning the FA Cup this season.
Enjoyed tonight's game. What made the coverage even better was no Lineker/Shearer/Richards/Murphy spouting their usual rubbish, but Schwazer & Phillips talking knowledgeably about their old clubs, and Mark Chapman hosting, by far & away the best anchorman the BBC have for football coverage. (Would also have had no problem with Tony Mowbray coming to us at some point, but that sort of appointment simply isn't in the club's way of thinking).
The reason Chapman is so much better, apart from being a skilled professional presenter, is that he presents football from the standpoint of being a fan, not an ex-player and so-called ‘expert’ pundit. There has been an increasing tendency over the years for the BBC to shoehorn ex-sportspeople into presenting roles because of their name and only very few of them can make the transition - Lineker being a case in point.
Cue a load of inflatable haddocks at St Mary’s ! https://gtfc.co.uk/club-statement-on-harry-haddocks-at-cup-tie/
Literally nothing surprises me anymore. What a time to be alive, balloons, UFOs, tanks, Truss and now this.
Well that's brill! I hake it when bigger clubs spoil the day out for supporters of smaller clubs. Inflatable haddocks a problem? What pollacks! I hope Southampton flounder and Grimsby get a plaice in the next round.
Matches on BBC 1 and ITV 1 & 4 basically at the same time. Cue mass complaints from no football fans!
On the radio this morning they were wittering on about Blackburn being really excited about being on the cusp of their first trip to the 'new' Wembley. Just one round away etc. Made a laugh given we've been there 6 times in a decade. There must be loads of these clubs with storied histories floating around in the wilderness. Bless 'em.
Boo The Dnake, cheer Gavi. On the other hand, always boo Leeds because of their dirty play half a century ago (which I remember well). I was conflicted about this ex-Watford derby but I quite like Fulham so cheered for the winning side.
That Alf Garnacho is some talent. Oh my GOODNESS Spurs! Sheff U's first team aren't clever but they lost to their Second XI!
Apparently the Spanish NT director called Alejandro and asked him to play for Spain again. His father is Spanish, mother is Argentine. He said no and is looking forward to the WC qualifiers for CONMEBOL when they start in October. Meanwhile UAE beat Burnley 6-0. The gulf between those right at the top of the PL circus and the Chump is enormous. The second half was like a training exercise even though Burnley's players were running about like demented ants.
This will start the rumours going ! Lineker lost his voice apparently.. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-65005620
