Quite what was had gone on here ?

Alpine just jumped the gun .

Apparently he is also talking to McLaren which must leave Ricciardo’s future in doubt .

Really cranks up the rumour mill. Riccardo out - but surely in somewhere else? I can't see him back at Renault. The only other one I can think of that could do with a fresh team is Pierre Gasly as it looks improbable he'll regain that Red Bull place.

Then Alpha Tauri need someone... again would Ric go back? Might be his only option.

Latifi is having a dreadful time of it but nobody will drop to that level so imagine he stays or a rookie comes in.

Haas and Alfa Romeo look very solid so I don't expect movement there.

Red Bull have kindly given one of their awards to Ferrari . DF0C9887-9198-4BF9-8BDC-D2DCF51D0FC8.jpeg

Good to see Mercedes in the mix, it seems they are figuring out the strategy for the new cars, whilst Ferrari have the car but terrible strategy. Only Red Bull seem to have both sorted, although I think the races so far have been much closer than the results show.

We could be in for a proper 3 way battle next season.

Would help if Ferrari particularly didn’t make so many in race errors .

They’d be right up with Red Bull otherwise .

If the Merc has to completely reconfigure their car, and RB use the rest of the season to test next years car, I think they'll be further ahead than you think (hope I'm wrong).

Also, blowing up on Twitter. Alpha Tauri told Tsunoda to leave the pitlane and stop on track, forcing the safety car, rather than him stopping in the pitlane (and the pitlane being shut) when Max wanted to stop.

I doubt there is any conspiracy between AT and RB beyond AT not wanting to get in RBs way, as there is no need for them to cheat with the title wrapped up, but it was either very dodgy or very incompetent by AT, and brings the fairness of second teams into the spotlight (especially given increasingly dodgy stoppings forcing safety cars this season)

Even Red Bull were a bit confused at to what was going on.

Not the first time AT have got into a bit of a muddle regarding the state of their car.

Didn't have Tsunoda have an issue with the DRS system in a previous race which wouldn't closed and they let him back out with it hanging off and stuck together with tape ?

Porsche not teaming up with Red Bull in 2026.

Will they look to take someone else over ?

Verstappen got a 5 place grid penalty- probably still be first by the end of lap one!

Perez and Sainz with penalties too.

Period of national mourning innit. No time for fripperies like matching article content to headlines.

I swear since the moment she kicked the can, the transfer gossip section on BBC football hasn’t been linked in the main stories as usual. Like, the trivial football rumor isn’t appropriate at such a time. Jokers.

So Max to hunt down Charles within say 15 laps tomorrow? Unless there’s some carnage at the start.

Probably by lap 5 or something !

Ferrari will mess up somewhere and Verstappen only has Russell and the McLarens ahead of him.

Basically even with those penalties we have the usual top 6 with Norris probably going to be 7th or something as Alonso is out

Getting a bit boring isn't it? Similar to previous years where Hamilton has dominated.

Damon Hill basically said they will probably dominate even more than Lewis did as the opposition aren't reliable enough and Max is the team.

Nanny state F1 has decided racing in full wets is too dangerous these days.

But they don’t mind putting a recovery truck out on the track whilst cars are still going at speed.

Unfortunate situation given what happened 8 years ago at the same track .

Feels like we're now only a couple of years away from them deciding racing itself is too dangerous and best done behind the safety car at all times.

Haha. That was like Johnny Herbert got to personally award the world championship at the end there. Another finish to a title race / season that's probably indecipherable for anyone other than regular viewers. F1 deserves this for the mess it's making of its regulations etc.
