It was a bad pass from the keeper...shouldn't have played it to Capoue.

Juventus in the crap again for serious dodgy dealings. Accusations seem to include:

    - False capital gain (around 300 million in 3 yrs)
    - Fake invoices for transactions that never happened
    - False Communication to the investors

President Andrea Agnelli, Vice-President Pavel Nedved and former sporting director Fabio Paratici, now at Tottenham Hotspur, are specifically under investigation.

Their offices have been raided by Italian finance police:

    https://football-italia.net/juventus-under-investigation-for-false-accounting/

For all the suggestions of possible shady dealings by our owners, perhaps Juve could learn some things. Wouldn't be a surprise to see them relegated again over this.

The old lady of corruption mired in it again. Utterly surprising news this.

Villarreal playing Man City in the CL. Great memories for Etienne.

Although the draw is null and void due to Utd being pulled out when they shouldn’t have been.

Yes - they are playing A. Madrid now

Liverpool will probably be annoyed - had RB Salzburg now got Inter.

Chelsea got away with coming 2nd in their group.

Yes, Chelsea got Lille, twice. The lowest ranked team left, when your lucks in your lucks in.

Yes - a certain owner would love to see them get to the final in his home country!

PSG always seem to get the toughest draws.

An absolutely insane game of football yesterday night here in Bergen. Relegation-Promotion for the eliteserien between Brann and Jerv. Pure dominance from Brann really with former Brann keeper keeping Jerv in the match with two penalty saves in normal time. 1-1 going into extra time. Brann give away a penalty and a red card. Score the penalty and go onto get another to go 3-1 with 8 minutes to go. A great assist from the Jerv keeper too. Ten men Brann then go and score 2 in 2 minutes to level it up. A minute later Jerv go 4-3 up with 3 minutes left only for Brann to level in the 120th minute to take it to penalties. Nerves set in for Brann and the Jerv keeper saves two in the shootout for a Jerv promotion. The first time in 100 years that they've made the top flight in Norway. All this in the fog too where it was near on impossible to see the ball. Well worth a view on YouTube.. if you can see the football.

It’s so cool that Barcelona are buying Ferran Torres for £60 million even though they are bust. They are like a sovereign country who prints its own currency.

Wasn’t sure where to put this, but @reids how achievable is this corner routine for Watford?!

We've done similar before (but not as cleanly)! Baffles me that teams try these, the amount of technique required (both in the shot and the delivery) is so high, even for world class footballers that I'd never recommend it as a viable option!

Etienne Capoue and Pervis ‘wouldn’t have done it in the Champo’ Estupinan - Champions League Semi finalists.

Oh and the local man is pleased again.

    Unlucky for Chelsea potentially.

Will probably point to that disallowed goal but was handball.

I miss Capoue. In the relegation season and in the Championship, he was sometimes quite bad and often looked disinterested, but taking that in account I'd still prefer him to most(maybe even all) of our midfielders. He is a class player.

I think that’s pretty obvious. Despite Duxbury suggesting he was a bad apple I don’t doubt we would’ve kept him if we had the choice to.

    Technology made this handball.
VAR was introduced and welcomed by most because of Lampards "goal" Thierry Henry handball etc and not to disallow goals because of an accidental brushing of the little finger which didn't benefit goalscorer .

Anywho after Saturdays shyte show from us there has been 2 fantastic matches since on the TV

Fair point but atm those are the laws .

Last season it was even harsher in a way with any handball in the build up causing a goal to be ruled out .

Yes I agree . However if all of us had known how VAR was to be implemented and the goals that were going to be chalked off then I don't think it would have been introduced without a massive fight

Enjoying watching City struggle against a team even more effective at tactical fouling. The indignation is lovely. If Madrid can get a goal, Pep might combust, and I’d genuinely enjoy it.

I love Atletico Madrid. Like a mid 80s tribute act. I don’t want to see Messi smash 5 goals past some no-hopes. The star attraction in world football is watching these chaps kick the living daylights out of someone like Man City, cause 20 man brawls and show some inventive cynicism. They even have a cult leader as manager. Brilliant stuff!

And tbf the whole incident was started by Foden trying to time waste by rolling back onto the pitch when injured.

I doubt Man C would be very happy if someone did that against them .

    So Capoue into the semifinals.

He is a class player but again he could have been even better with greater application. Emery has done a great job and Lo Celso is thriving having made a mockery of the Bayern midfield. I am sure most neutrals would want the Yellow Submarine to win the thing given the three other teams in the semifinals. Have a soft spot for Villareal since the days of Senna and Riquelme. A town of only fifty thousand souls as well.

Just slowed the game to his own pace then sped it up. Marvellous technique and ability. Missed 2002 thanks to Bielsa and then when subbed out in 2006 in the QF Germany came back into the game. Made a mockery of Real Madrid in the WCC game versus Boca where he is now presidente. A real joy to watch.
