Couldn't believe that, was looking at your lineup and thinking you had so much strength in depth with the bat and then it fell to pieces

Will take something special to stop the aussies winning this one

Its not lost yet.. Look at the first test last time we were here, collapsed and then 2nd innings scored an amazing amount of runs..
The one thing you can say about England, is they are not predictable. The Aussies know this far too well.

Well the signs have been there and I have wondered how they might deal with a South African attack of Philander and Steyn. Some poor batting on display for example Root flashing at a wide one on the highlights.

As expected Australia are going to be no pushovers at home.

Nope, I enjoy watching cricket as a neutral. I like quite a few inidivdual players just (although haven't been following it as much as I used to)

Used to prefer the Aussies over England when they had the likes of Gilchrist, Langer, Hayden etc but now I'd say I'm pretty unbiased towards any team, just enjoy watching good cricket.

Its the same with rugby, Wales are the only home nation I like, just because I enjoy watching them play the most. Other teams I like are Italy, France, NZ and SA.

Ok. Who is your favourite player of all time? I think mine is Mathew Hoggard. For some reason I just loved his action as he bowled and he could swing it round corners. When I was playing cricket as a kid I always wanted to be him.

Living in Cardiff the love of rugby the welsh have is unprecedented. Everybody wears red on a rugby day, and everyone is so patriotic about it, in a charming way.

Mine is Kumar Sangakkara, used to love him

Rugby's massive over here too, used to play it at school but never really enjoyed watching it that much, starting to watch it a bit more these days though

1-1 chasing 561, Carberry has just nutmegged himself and played on.

I might go back to bed.

10/2 I think we will get less than 150 again.

This is what I don't understand. We have 2 days at the very least to go slowly and build partnerships which is the only way to get to 400-odd runs. I know the weather can change and therefore the wicket will change but correct me if I'm wrong in that this wicket hasn't changed much. Even if the wicket is advantageous for the bowler, all you need to do is just go defensive first, getting a few runs whilst building a partnership.

But no, all we see is people who look like they're playing an ODI or a T20 game and feel the need to get a run off every ball. It is massively frustrating to watch

I guess it's all psychology. England know they've lost this game - no test side has ever chased down a total even approaching this one before and I don't have them down as record breakers. It's just how long they wish to toil in the sun and heat for. What is disappointing though is the Carberry's and Trott's, who need time in the middle, are the ones getting out.

Back to back series Cheeks. The Australian bowling attack here was pretty competitive aside from their spinning options. Luckily for us Cummins is still out as he would also bowl at a fierce pace. It had been rather disappointing to see how some of the top order played the pace. It was like watching re runs of the Windies skittling out England in the early eighties which you can see on youtube and which led Blowers to use the phrase calypso collapso.

World Cup in Australia in early 2015 so they've brought this Ashes series forward. The next one is England 2017.

    Poor show really.

Pietersen is gone. But if there were two players who could score double hundreds each it'd be Cook and Bell.

Yup, I was thinking the same thing when I saw the score on getting up this morning. The similarities are glaringly obvious at the moment.

A heavy beating. The rain delays didn't help. Aside from Cook and Broad the rest need to up their game. I am sure they can and they will.

    GoingDown "The Stability"

Pretty awful. It was a horrible test in all honesty.

We were terrible and the Aussies are really showing themselves up by being utter ***** on the field.

At least with Ponting there was a bit of class about their sledging, now with the likes of Clarke talking 'broken arms' and the like, along with Johnson and Warner acting like arrogant pieces of ****, this series could end up being remembered for all the wrong reasons.
