Exciting end to it. Great Schmeichel save. Tight VAR decision. A lot better than we last went, that’s for sure.
Well Done Leicester. A properly run football club who do things the right way. And congrats to BR, An ex WFC manager winning the cup. Nice one. I was kind of hoping somebody had won 7-0 today, but I’ll take that! I reckon Leicester will blow top four now as they’ve peaked today. Good news for Liverpool.
Really pleased, especially as the sentimental substitution to get Morgan on the pitch did not backfire. No real feelings either way for Leicester City, (but always enjoyed the matches against them), but the default now is anyone agains5 an ESL scab club
Think that was offside- just I think. More than other goals we have seen ruled out. And the winner was a cracker ! Ok could have been ruled our for handball but would have ruined a great moment .
Proper ownership. Feel for Chilwell. Only joking. Take that sucker. Another one in the eye of the elite.
How wonderful to enjoy a meaningful Cup Final in the way we used to. Not a classic match, but a classic match-up between the good guys and the evil empire (stuff yer Superleague) and a classic winning goal! Thanks to Leicester for doing it for the little guys and congratulations Filbert. Well deserved.
Chuffed for them to be honest. Quite emotional when their chairman prayed to the heavens. This is the sort of thing I hope we can do one day. Hopefully we don’t have to sit through two more cup final defeats to do it (although getting there is always an achievement). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It feels like an upset today, until you see the league table and remember that Leicester are actually above Chelsea!
Why is drawing the lines even a thing for VAR? If a decision is that tight it should be given as onside. I cant see why it is so complicated, VAR was definitely not missed in the championship this year.
Anyone who beats any of the Big 6 entitled teams with absentee owners who tried to f’’c£ up the English League pyramid with their breakaway plans has my support. Well done Lesta.
Yes well done Leicester . Through gritted teeth we need a Stam win tonight Leicester to beat Chelsea again midweek And then only 50% of the fantastic 6 will have qualified for the CL.
Wonderful news. A breakaway ESL club upset. Another plastic club misses out on silverware! Congrats Leicester and Filbert!
I’m a little bit emotional. I’ve been crying/on the verge of tears for hours now. Banged a champagne cork, danced like a fool and pounded the floor while manically laugh crying. Thanks for the well wishes. Up your chuff Big 6, you ain’t all that.
Just watched the highlights, having accidentally avoided the score all day. Jolly good show, up the Foxes. That was some goal. Great to see the multi-millionaire owners getting one over the billionaire owners too. Our flags were better though.
If it wasn't for the fact that "MR INTEGRITY" is their manager I probably would be pleased for them, but as he is I'm not
As a neutral watching the game, Chelsea were unfortunate. Poor inconsistent refereeing. Silva gets penalised for a deflected handball in the first half yet they don't give it for the lead up to the goal. I had no problem with the VAR decision as millimetre(s) offside is still offside.
Cant you read ?? - your Cup Final Commemorative Beer clearly recommends ‘Best before end of 85’. Not consuming before end of 85 and letting it go stale and putrid will have a similar effect on the team if ever they play in another final. Just as well we haven’t played in another cup fin......... oh!
Wake up Filbert! ... hows the hangover? Congratulations on your little provincial team sticking it to the Big 6 in a league title and FA cup win. Amazing what Leicester have achieved, and as our banner at the King Power stadium said, it helps all small provincial clubs to dream and believe anything is possible ...
Does seem to be a difference between what a defender gets punished for handball wise and an attacker. I almost felt VAR thought they better not rule out such a great strike as there would be mayhem. Much more than there has been over the fact it was given. Agree on the offside - could argue it was more clear cut than many “offsides” we have seen given .
I've waived my loathing of "I don't need to tell everyone I know Jose as I'm famous too now" as Leicester is a good club and one of the Best 6 even if not in the Big 6.
The ones where it strikes another body part like the thigh first have consistently not been given by VAR all season. And on BT, Peter Walton also explained the alleged handball did not immediately lead to the goal and so wasn't captured by the VAR protocol... And yet you don't have to search hard on social media to find screenshots of the VAR angles used on live tv which show the ball was in motion at the point the image was clipped. There's a big issue with frame rates with the very marginal calls. I agree though if we all accept that was the moment the ball was struck then Chillwell was offside.
